    The first time I clicked edit events was literally an hour ago, trying to find and remove a ghost automation. I looked at it for a second and thought to myself “hm. That’s interesting” and then I see this video! It’s a sign, I will learn and use this function. Thanks!

      Just go to “current events” > “history” > “patterns” and you can find your automations and delete them

    Thank you for deep information in the video. The problem with events is deleting or undo what you have done like other parameters in FL when we use Ctrl key to turn them back. That is why it is a little frustrating for me and I try to use automations more.

    Nice tips. And I agree, Event automation is highly underrated and underused by many FLS users.
    My hope is that with the current automation improvements by the FLS team, that eventually, we could arrive at a hybrid system of the two currently separate automation systems. Offering the combined functionality of both, with the increased usability of the control point interface of the current Automation clips and Automation editor (in the 20.9 betas).
    I wouldn't want IL to drop the current Events system entirely, until at least complete feature parity had been achieved by any proposed replacement. i.e. full equivalent functionality of the Event LFO tool, and 'in place' Pattern automation within the Piano roll, etc.

    I use event clips on regular basis and here is the trick I use.
    I automate fruity XYZ controller linked to a parameter I want to automate cuz it gives me more options with min and max values like with automation clips + u can connect more parameters to the same event lane + u can use smoothening of the XYZ controller if u have some obrut cuts caused by sample n hold artefacts.

    event editor is great for individual patterns. but Imageline should consider Automation clips per pattern same like events editor. automation clips in same way will be more easy and usable.

  • @93armel
    @93armel 2 года назад +1

    Its a pity. Indeed this is forgotten because it is half of the usability and the other half is within the automation clips. The automation clips should have the possibility to edit like the pattern and it would be just as similar as other DAWs. For instante the lfos, the selection of a specific automation timeframe, and the time stretch...

    my main gripe with event editor and the bottom editor in a pattern is I can't seem to snap anything to the grid - it's really really poor design and you end up having to freehand draw curves.
    I mean I SEE they have a grid...why can't I actually use that grid to set my points?

    How does one syunchronize event data with notes in a clip when notes are moved? An example: I recorded a short phrase where I moved the modwheel at some point. My recording started with a bit of silence, so I had to move the notes left, to the start of the clip. But the event data for the modwheel stayed in place, so the modulation was now at the wrong time. There seems to be no way to move the events the way we can move the notes, so a tiny mistake means I have to redo the recording. Is there a better way?

    • @flstudiotricks6903
      @flstudiotricks6903  2 года назад +1

      The problem is that event data cannot be moved in a traditional way...i.e. you cannot select them and move them like notes...
      The best method would be instead moving the notes to select the time they are off in the PR Editor´s time ruler and use the command "Delete space" from the Edit menu... or to just trim the pattern clip from the left side...
      In both cases notes and events stay in sync...

    great tutorial, I have a question: Once you've already created an automation with "edit events" ¿how can I remove it or delete it?

    • @flstudiotricks6903
      @flstudiotricks6903  2 года назад +1

      Open up the event editor by either rightclicking the parameter which is automated or by rightclicking the corresponding entry in the browser´s current project tab and say "Edit events"...
      When the event editor is in focus, select all by hitting CTRL+A and hit the delete button on your keyboard...
      Basically as soon as there is no automation events present for this parameter anymore the automation is deleted...
      Or if you have got the event automation in a seperate pattern, you could just delete this pattern and it would be gone too...
      Just be aware as with any type of automation in FL Studio that you would have to delete the inital value as well... this is not done automatically...
