    I'm so glad you took time to share your many improvements! You've made so many rooms out of the few you had before. That is exactly why I'm looking for a toy hauler to have guest room, laundry room, office and craft room. If I purchase this layout I think I would also like to put a banquet in where the couch is and put the recliners in the master bedroom instead of the bed since I sleep in an adjustable bed anyways. Maybe I could turn the bathroom in this layout to an all in one washer dryer unit with shelves on the rest of it? I love the idea of reverse access to the bunk hole - I think it's actually a more private idea is it was reversed and use the same ladders? Accessing the kitchen would disturb anyone sleeping up there anyways. Great ideas and great hubby!! Thank you!

      It's just the 2 of us so we just go to the laundromat about every 10 days or so. We also didn't want to use alot of our water from our fresh water tank when we don't have full hook ups. Not to mention the space they take up.

    Thank you for sharing this video! Nice practical use of areas that people would never use. Especially recessing the control panel. Gaining a couple inches and giving you an extra coat closet…

      Can you share details about the control panel relocate and dimmer switch wiring?

    • @toolingalong13
      @toolingalong13  6 месяцев назад

      We have a 2019 model. Behind the control panel is a big empty area with a significant hole in the right wall to feed wires. After unscrewing the control panel, I removed the wooden panel surrounding the control panel. Then, I installed some mounting strips further back and mounted the wooden panel to these strips. As for the dimmer, there were three wires connected to the original switch. One for the main lights, one for the light over the microwave and one for the lights over the seating area. I fed the main lighting wire and a new power wire down to a hole where I mounted the dimmer switch and spliced the power wire to the original power wire from the original switch.

    We just bought our 2021 320G! I know we are going to love it! You both were very creative in your use of space. Any tips or lessons learned on putting in the two cabinet doors in the garage above where the bunk bed is? Also, where did you find the 12 volt dimmer switch you installed in the main area? You added a lot of shelves throughout, tips about materials and installation? I know...almost 20 questions...LOL

    Any chance you could share the dimensions of the cabinet openings you cut out for the bunk storage (in the garage)? Also, did you reinforce the structure in any way? It appears (in my 320g) that the majority of structural integrity is provided by the vertical back wall - unless there's actually metal or long wood studs that span the actual bed of the bunk? I'm concerned that I'll be reducing the load capacity of the bunk by cutting the doors into the vertical wall if I don't header and footer the holes somehow. Am I overthinking this process? Thanks for the dimensions and advice! I love this mod

      Tooling Along the of the moving of the control panel and build out of that cabinet. That one alone would probably cover a number of topics. I built a shelf for the bathroom with framed legs because screwing into the walls makes me nervous.

    Instead of just moving the switch for the four main lights in the living room, I installed a triple-ganged switch under the thermostat. The stove light, slide lights, and the living room lights are now controlled by their own switch. I also added a 4th drawer in the open space above the others in the peninsula. There is plenty of space for it. I just knocked out the panel and ordered another complete drawer from Grand Design.

    • @toolingalong13
      @toolingalong13  3 года назад +1

      We definitely want to put a fourth drawer in. It's crazy how much useful space is "hidden" in this model.

    • @AdorableDeplorable1
      @AdorableDeplorable1 3 года назад +1

      @@toolingalong13 It cost more to ship the parts from the factory than the parts themselves cost .It was worth it, though, to have the drawer match all the others.

      @@toolingalong13 I am also working in the basement pass-through to open up more room. The plumbing looks like a Gordian's knot, so I am cleaning it up. Also moving the transfer switch to the kitchen wall, along with the Charger/Converter. The goal is to move the solar equipment into the newly reclaimed space.

    • @toolingalong13

    Hello, Excellent Work. Can you share any information with the doors backside of the loft (in the garage). Which hinges are those that lock? Did you have to add any trim to your cutout? Any additional pictures would be great. Northbay94928 At Gmail oh and the 4th drawer mod, just install raills? did the replacement drawer come with them?
