✅ Top 5 Toy Hauler Factory Upgrades | Grand Design Momentum | Changing Lanes!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 июл 2018
- Since we ordered every upgrade available from the factory for our 2018 Grand Design Momentum 397TH (with the exception of the “super-sofa”), we thought it would be a good idea for us to let you know our thoughts on each one.
We definitely have our top 5 favorites, but we also go into detail about the other upgrades and we will let you know which upgrades we would not buy again and why. We hope that this video will provide some insight for those of you that are currently in the market for a new toy hauler or fifth wheel or thinking of adding some upgrades to your existing unit.

We'd love to hear about your favorite factory (or after market) upgrades! Please tell us about them below!
Changing Lanes I added a second AC to our 5th wheel that originally came with one in 30a configuration. Since then I converted the rig to 50a myself. I too opted for a heat pump, I find it’s much more useable than the hot furnace heat. Can you guys elaborate on that Energy Management System? I’d like to see what all they entail and get an idea of adding one is advantageous. Take Care, love your rig, it’s about 30 times what I paid for mine but I can dream.
the double glass, because it makes a big difference, as well temperature, but even more so; noise!
Do you use a UV protectant on the slide out guards and or the awnings?
Up grade furniture as most to keep cost down offer very low quality furniture. We upgraded our thore to Flex Steel. Also matress to a purple 4. With back problems i have owned every device and bed out there. By far the purple bed is the best over sleep number Tempropedic ect. It sleeps very cool springs back to shape the secound you move rather than like memery foam takes a few min to recover you never feel that hole you were sleeping in. And finnally beter head lights if your rig does not have LED head lights huge upgrade. Also an air horn package with 150 operating presure so you have the full capacity to air your tires. Often compressors dont cycle back on till 90 psig and tires take 100.
Changing Lanes where did you get your outdoor rug?
I'm RVing vicariously through you guys so far, but enjoy the humor and info! New sub and thumbs-upper!
I’ve been watching your channel for several months and continue to find new Tips & Tricks. Love watching you two. Take care, be safe, stay cool and be healthy!
I just found ur channel and I love it. Keep posting. Thanks
I just want to say thank you, thank you for your videos. They have helped me sooo much!!! Love you guys ❤😊
My husband and I are exploring toy haulers and your videos are great information!
Thank you for all this detailed information!
My husband and I are selling our home and going tiny by living in a 5th wheel..thanks to your channel we now know what we want in our perfect coach and truck.
We happened to find a Grand Design 397TH 2020 on our local RV dealer’s lot to walk through, and we knew exactly what we were looking at in terms of the under belly and drop floor etc... because you explained everything in such detail.
Thank you for showing us your rig, we’ve subscribed and look forward to watching more videos.
Thanks for watching! 😊 Did you get the 397?
I subscribed because you all are so Nice, ! Look like really great people to know. And I'm looking into doing this sort of thing when I retire. So trying to get as much info as I can. And I really like your Videos.! Very informative. ! Thank you. ! God bless and Safe Travels Rig and Cycle. ! 🇺🇸
I love this, me and hubby going to do same thing in about a year. You two have gave us great information I appreciate it. It will be our home also. Kinda scary, but you guys make it look easy and you looked so relaxed. Thank you. Can't wait for inverter information. Might need you to build ours..lol Happy New Year!! You two are beautiful souls.
Your videos are the best! You both do a great job showing and explaining things in an entertaining manner. We've put several locations on our radar thanks to you guys. P.S. Love your "out takes".
Another awesome video. Nice upgrades, love the full body paint!
Great video on the factory opinions! It's a Beautiful Rig! Thanks for taking the time to put it all together! Steve D. And Yea.. I'm a Harley Guy!
My husband and I are preparing to make the big move. We watch you almost nightly. The information has been invaluable. We are going back and forth between the Momentum and Fuzion. We keep coming back to Grand Design. Thank you for the great information!!!
Welcome to our channel, and thanks for watching! 😊 Look into the customer service of both companies... We've been very happy with GDRV's service... 👍🏼
The sound system plays the TV sound and that's really nice
Agree the awnings are necessary! My Wife and I usually spend most of our time out under the awning.
You did such a better job of describing the heat pump then our dealer and the GD rep combined. It's the one option we passed on our 373fb solitude. Love the king bed and full body paint though. Nice video!
Oh man! Maybe you can upgrade it later... All of the wiring is already there, so I imagine it would be a simple swap out of the unit and controls... Thanks for watching! 😊
Thank you so much for making this video! You answered all of my questions! Great job!
Would like to see a video on any problems you have encountered with the coach and if so how Grand Design and or the dealer responded.
That video is in the plans! 👍🏼 Spoiler: All of our issues have been minor and GDRV took care of all of them.. 😊
I've watched many of your videos and find them very informative. Similar to you guys, we chose a toy hauler floorplan for the flexibility. We've got 2 kids, so they get the garage area for their bedroom. It's got a lot more flexibility to haul additional cargo or my motorcycle if we're on an extended trip, and just drop down the happijack bed at night. It's got a built in 30 gal gas tank to fuel the generator! Way better than burning propane when you're off the grid. Ours is only a TT, so doesn't have all the cool options, but would love the rear 3 season doors to make the patio more usable...we just have the pull down screen, so you really can't leave the rear deck down overnight. May ditch our deck stairs as well since they take up so much space and we so rarely actually use them. Also love the 3 A/C setup with the power mgmt system and the heat pump, which I would definitely get if we upgrade. Space heaters do the job when it gets cold, but I like the built-in option to heat with electricity and how it all works together without hauling additional clutter. We do fine with 2 A/Cs in hot weather, but our rig is a little smaller and we rarely keep the back door open...our kids also prefer a warmer bedroom for some odd reason. Ours only has a 6 gal water heater, so I'd consider an instant replacement. It's easy find yourself in a cold shower if you take your time or decide you can't wait 30 mins after the wife has hers.
Indeed.. all excellent points. Our water heater is 12 gallons, so we've never had an issue.. plus it's just the two of us. 🚿 Thanks for watching, Everett! 😊
You have the best videos love you guys. I'm buying grand design next spring after retiring and travel. Take care John
I just love the smell of Savannah! As soon as we pull in I take a deep sniff! It just smells different. My favourite city anywhere to travel!
Thanks guys for this great video. Always helpful to see what works and what don't and the reason why. And great details on the upgrades. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching! Hope you check out the rest of our channel! 😊
Love your guys's videos I started fulltiming about a year ago I got the 2018 Fuzion fifth wheel toy hauler with 11 foot garage I also carry my Harley with me and it's got a washer and dryer I upgraded to the king size bed I have the two air conditioners I have the patio and I too set aside the patio stairs and handrail and the two lounge chairs no easy way to pack those items lots of Comforts with the three TVs the outdoor sound the outdoor fridge full size fridge in the kitchen reclining couch that Heats and massages I absolutely love full-time rving glad I gave up my four bedroom house and my dog loves it too keep doing what you guys do and I'll keep watching and enjoying thanks
Yea... the bulkiness of those stairs far outweigh their limited usefulness for sure! Glad you're enjoying your Full time RV life! It's great!!! Thanks for following our journey! 😊
I'm finishing work as I watch y'all and, yes! It is indeed happy hour! Always in my opinion 😆
THANK YOU for:
1. Showing examples of the upgrades rather then just describing them.
2 Keeping the camera at a comfortable distance rather ten right in your face.
3. Consistency in sound, pacing, and including your doggo.
Thanks for watching, Paul! Hope you check out the rest of our channel! 😊
Another great video guys, makes perfect sense on a lot of the options. Take care
As super cool couple. He is always on ball! Well clued up! So organized
Good on u.😀😉
You guys rock. Subscribed just now because I am sitting in my RV, late in Cali where we just moved 13 days ago. Living FT/PT in our RV after relocating. Mike and Mary Beth. Good to meet you. You two remind me of how MB and I relate. Mike
Nice to meet you, Mike and Mary Beth! Thanks for watching! 😊
Hay Guys great video. Watching it for 2nd time. Thanks keep up the good work. Love your RV.
I found you when one of your rides showed up in my YT feed. I am an Indian fan too and had a ‘14 Chief Classic. Now, you guys have me wanting an RV! Great job with the videos. They are informative and entertaining. Thank you!
Thanks for following our adventures, Daniel! 😊
Love you guys synergy and super informative I'm just getting to the learning curve and your helping me so much
So glad to help! Welcome to our channel! 😊
New to the channel and am loving it. I am binge watching episode after episode! Keep up the great work.
Totally get the king size upgrade. We have a Bichon and upgraded to a king size bed. These small dogs sure like to spread out! lol
Hey, you guys make great videos, great team, and the best personalities. Glad I found your channel. Be safe
Thanks, Greg! 😊
Another awesome video thx so much for sharing. I made a trip to lazy days in Tampa last week hoping to get similar insights from sales person on which options would be suitable and she was clueless so thank you so much
Thanks! You should ask for our sales guy, Stan Johnson. Feel free to shoot us any questions also!
We are considering making this our forever home but not to travel in. Good info...the best I've found. Will be looking for your info on your updates .
Awesome & informative video. Love all of them!
This is by far the nicest RV I’ve ever seen. What a great way to rough it.
Thanks for watching, David! Hope you check out the rest of our channel! 😊
Great videos guys...binge-watching them on a rainy day in Buffalo...great sound and video work! Music was enjoyable and good synchronization with what was going on...Got the recommendation from the peeps at Enjoy The Journey...keep up the great work...very informative and interesting!
Welcome to our channel, Mike! 😊 Thanks for watching!
Amazing upgrades! I am looking forward to seeing the inverter and battery upgrade videos.
This is my next one to watch. Looking forward to it.
As always, great content, extremely informative. Kudos... Keep it up!
I really enjoyed your Top 5 Factory Upgrades video. I am in the middle of exhaustive research for our first RV (5th wheel) purchase in about a year. It will primarily be for my wife and our two furry daughters, but we want her parents (and any other friends and family) to be comfortable and have their own privacy and half bath. Your top 5 upgrades are ones that I am considering as must haves as well. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to learning a lot from you! Thank you!
Welcome to our channel! 😊
The paint job is beautiful. Really nice home.
Binge watching some of your videos today. Just found your channel, liked and subscribed. Love your style and the content. We are thinking about full timing sometime down the line, and it is so nice to get some pro tips from others that are doing it.
Thanks for following our journey, David! 😊
Really enjoying the content. Thank you for sharing.
Love all your content. Thanks T and C.
Love your videos! So informative.
Love Chad's penguin walk along the king-size bed during the top 5 discussion lol.
i'm loving Your video .. i'm not RVing but i would like to in the future so im lerning alot .THANKS guys and God bless
That was a excellent Video good instructions I loved it thanks for showing that
Love your videos.. Very helpful! Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!
Thanks for following our journey! 😊
Great info and video. We are in this process as well and looking at many of the same upgrades.
Excellent! Let us know if you run into any questions we didn't address. 👍🏽😀
Watching this after seeing you're upgrades is a little trippy.
Higher load rated 110psi tires is a great upgrade. Seeing my 5'er making tight maneuvers then watching somebody else's sidewalls buckling makes me smile.
A remote for the jack system, slides, and awnings makes setting up alone a breeze. Being able to adjust the kingpin height from inside the truck while backing up to it is awesome.
The extra powered awning above the rear suspended patio helps keep the sun off the door and stop the black flooring from being unusable.
Hmmmm.. hadn't thought about using the remote to adjust the pin from the truck. Just wish it didn't take several steps to connect to the wifi, launch the app, put in a code, etc... Faster to get out and push a button. LOL But great option for when it's raining, etc. Thanks for the tip!
@@ChangingLanes my system came with a dedicated remote, no app, so it's a little simpler...unfortunately it looked like an ipod, and got stolen during a truck break-in. Now I'm debating whether I'm lazy enough to pay $400 to buy a new one.
Yea.. I guess any cheap tablet would work... you can get a new ipod touch for $199.
Let me tell you, having lived in apartments with single pane windows, double pane is worth every penny!!! I doubt it only raises the R value that low, but the sound abatement is really true. And in a motor home, condensation could be a killer a host for mold that you really don't want to worry about. Single pane is like having a hole in your wall. No joke.
sebeckley As an architect I can say that dual pane glass raises the R value of the glass by much more than one. Typical for dual pane would be about R7 which is about three times more effective than single pane. Actual values will vary depending on the thickness of the glazing and the airspace and the airspace is often filled with an inert gas which also increases efficiency. Check actual values with your supplier.
@@reddymon RV dual pane windows do not have any gas between them. They raise the R value, but not by very much. A little better for noise reduction. Mostly beneficial for stopping condensation
Another great and informative video. Thanks.
We’re waiting for our 380FL to arrive. We bit on most of your favorites, including the custom paint... we didn’t get the king bed because of the side space, but that can easily be changed if our family bed hog (me) requires more space. Anxiously waiting to drag it down the road! Thanks for the videos. We really enjoy them and value the opinion. Happy Trails !!!!
Awesome! Be sure to post a pic on our FB or tag us on IG so we can see your new RV when you get it! 😊
Great Video! We love our Momentum 376TH, we have some of your upgrades but not all. 3rd AC was not an option on our 2017 because they weren’t equipped with power management then. LOVE the full body paint, not in our budget! If you haven’t already, a factory tour is pretty cool, just don’t take the rig there!!!
Yep! Factory tour is set for next month! 😎
Great job. Lots of fun
great video we got the same options in our unit minus the paint i wish we would of got that great video guys
Love your videos!! You guys could have your own tv show. When you were looking into buying your fifth wheel, did you look at the luxe brand fifth wheel toy haulers? If so do you think the price difference would have been worth it for quality of the unit, and the amount of years you would be living in it. Do you think you will be replacing your unit down the road? How long do you plan on full time RVING? Thanks again for your videos, and any feed back you could give me.
Thanks for the awesome videos! Such GREAT info and you guys are easy to watch (and just more knowledgeable) than many I've seen. I've been researching the 5th wheels - I'm downsizing/simplifying and my house is on the market now! I have been looking and researching about 4 months or so and the quality of the grand design models have really impressed me compared to other popular models out there! Your comments on the brand, options, full time RVing, etc. have been incredibly useful as I try to make the best decision for me and my lifestyle. About to watch the inverter project video - I'm trying to understand the options and what's best for a single person like me with a budget to consider (e.g., generator, inverters, solar, batteries - it gets pretty damn confusing!) Where there's a will there's a WAY! :-)
It's absolutely very confusing! But, yes... just takes some time and exposure to the way RV's work. We do plan on doing an overall power management video and explaining it all in a broader context. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thanks for watching!
Just recently subscribed and am finding your content (and personalities) GREAT! My little H-D Street 500 would look pretty neat in the garage, too! Might just have to re-think retirement. Again, Be Safe!
I love you guys!! Great content ❤️❤️
I added a queen size sleep number mattress and stackable splendid washer and dryer.
Great video as always guys...
Like your channel very much and your rig is beautiful. Would like to know more about the motorcycle wheel dock and how it’s working out not bolting it down. We just bought a cougar srx and really do not want to make any holes in the floor. Thanks for all your informative videos.
I go a little more into that topic in our full camp breakdown and setup video. Here's a link to that section of the video: ruclips.net/video/uPXNmS0IBRQ/видео.htmlm46s Long story short, I haven't bolted it down for several months now. No issues. Thanks for watching! 😎
Your videos and graphic design is very professional
Have u done a video about the weekly / monthly maintenance you have to do to maintain your rig ? Also have you done a video on what if any upgrades you have done to your truck ? Enjoy watching you guys, stay safe.
Not yet.. might make that part of a FAQ video in the future. We did talk a bit about truck upgrades in our towing video (ruclips.net/video/87runDszXLQ/видео.html). But, in summary, all we've added are sulastic shackles and Loadlifter 7500 XL air bags (with the wireless air controller) to help make the ride smoother. Jury is still out on the benefit of those upgrades... Slightly better ride I think.
Great video, outstanding real world examples.
Thanks, Jeff and thanks for watching!
We love your videos. I wish we would have gotten the double pane windows.
I went and got a tripod it seems to help with the spin cycle I would recommend it!
We thought about those, but it seemed a bit bulky and we also like to park lucile in that area sometimes. Do they pack up pretty tight? We're also going to be working with RVSnapPads to prototype and test a new product they'll be coming out with that should also help. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching! 😊
Great video. I've been a subscriber for a while now, and just pulled the trigger on a new Momentum 397TH, that we are picking up next week. I'm considering installing e-tracks in the garage area so that I can tie down a variety of toys and gear. Our idea was to roll some carpeting over the floor to hide the tracks and prevent toe stubbing and tripping hazards when toys are not in the garage. I am interested in your thoughts and opinions on tying down toys and gear, and if I should pursue the e-tracks or not.
I would absolutely LOVE to see a blooper reel from your putting these videos together!! You guys have a lot of fun!
Most of our more recent videos have outtakes at the end... 👍🏼
@@ChangingLanes Would love to meet up with you guys one day! We just traded our Jayco Seismic up to a Momentum 376THS. Looking forward to it! Are you guys ever on the East Coast? South FL?
Congrats on the new MO! That's an awesome floorplan! We usually hop all around Florida in the winter. We also hope to start doing more meetups after we get our Insider program launched! 👍🏼
Great video when I ordered my momentum I didn’t get the steps knowing that there’s no where to store them also momentum is one of the only models that doesn’t require them to safely lock the patio deck to the cage all the others have the fastener on the steps and as far as the chairs they give you they suck there to low and too narrow, dual pane windows is a must there not much to upgrade plus if you got full paint like you and I both have I got the blue as the accent you should be able to afford it I noticed you didn’t mention you wash/dryer but I saw the vent up front. What was the little white box at the top of the 3 season doors? Keep it up I just subscribed FYI I have the same truck too only in a 450 I can’t wait till I run into you guys out on the road it will be awesome!
Yes... Washer and Dryer was a MUST for us. Check out our RV tour video if you get a chance. The white box is a simplisafe door sensor. Have them on all of the entrance doors. I see your truck in your profile. Man! That's a nice lookin rig! Love the grille! Kinda wish we'd have gone with the 450 over the 350 for the turning radius. Thanks for watching!
I must say I love watching your videos... you pair are getting me hooked on buying a fifth wheeler and spending 6 months of the year in America
I looked at camping world in Kissimmee last time I was in states but like yours better so did not buy one
Come on over! 😊🇺🇸
Kissimmee is close to where Lazydays is (ruclips.net/video/fN1_igB-tDQ/видео.html). You should check that place out next time!
Ours was for sure the Fantastic Fan we added after we got the trailer. We had purchased it to replace in our 1980 Trillium 1300 which thankfully I hadn’t yet got installed before we sold and got our brand new Apex Nano 193 BHS. Makes a HUGE difference and takes our need for AC.
Yes! We have the Maxxair fans, but I think they are pretty much the same. One button operation. I don't think our's reverse though...
Changing Lanes I love that you can reverse the fan, yes. I love that it has a rain sensor. And I love that it has a remote and a thermostatic setpoint. We did our research and those were the features people were excited about that we are now too!
Those are nice options! ❄️
I have learned so much from your videos. If I could have only one channel it would be yours.
Great job guys!!!
I have most all upgrades .With exception of full body paint and speakers . Really live our 350 M .
trust me you did good on dual pain windows
Well you must be parked in Florida near Tampa if that heat index was that high! I live in Florida near I4 and I75 intersection.... I was dying this summer from the heat. I want an RV just live yours so I can spend the summers up north! Thanks for sharing the tour and the top 5, appreciate it!
Actually, we were just south of Albany NY when we filmed this. Crazy heat wave!
Wow, it seems like you got every option except maid service! Beautiful. I live in a house, but subscribe to a bunch of RV channels. I hope to join you full-time someday. And basically you're living my dream. Toy hauler with a deck, beautiful truck, and an Indian Motorcycle! So just know that if at any point something's not going right, and you feel like your life sucks, know that you are living my dream! Thanks for the content.
We feel fortunate every day that all the pieces came together to make this journey a reality! Thanks for watching! 😊
Really helpful. We're about 3 years from retirement and hitting the road. So many questions, you guys have been answering a lot. When you're loading the bike does it bottom out. Is the room on the garage for two bikes, road glide and dyna. If you're ever out west give a shout we'll take a ride.
We've seen lots of people loading two full sized bikes.. So, yes to that.
Never drags. If the ramp is too steep, we can raise the nose and flatten it all out a bit...
You can see bike loading a bit here ruclips.net/video/_X-LAY8Fwlw/видео.html,
then later here ruclips.net/video/uPXNmS0IBRQ/видео.html
and even more here: ruclips.net/video/f56_8ecCTaI/видео.html
👍🏼 😊
I am so getting that three season door!
Hey guys I’m so glad I found your channel, we’re looking at the exact same camper and like yourselves have probably been inside 100 of them lol. 2 questions- can u adjust the volume in all stereo zones at the same time? Also, I’m not familiar with the TCL brand televisions… They seem to be good quality?
Thanks for watching! 😊 As far as I know, each zone is adjusted separately. There is a Jenson phone app that *might* do it, but I'm just not sure. But, at least you can control it remotely without leaving whatever zone you're in. 😎 Honestly, we had never heard of TCL either. but, they've taken a real beating on the Northeast roads and we've had no problems. The picture is good too! I mean, it's not 4K or anything, but our data use for streaming regular HD is high enough as is. Good luck in your search and feel free to reach out if you come up with any more questions. -chad
Great videos - very informative.
So... We own a 43' Fuzion Chrome toy hauler. Our TV is a 2011 Chev Silverado 3500 HD DRW. Just yesterday I had the Fuzion in the shop to check brakes and pack wheel bearings. Previous to this RV we owned a 2005 Raptor 3612 and had a 2002 Chev Silverado 3500 HD DRW. From day one of owning the 2011 Chev and the 2015 Fuzion Chrome, we were going through front brakes, warping rotors and experiencing a great deal of pulsation and violent front-end shake. I'm back to a fresh set of Power Stop slotted/drilled rotors, ceramic pads, and new front calipers.
So come to find out, we had two chafed trailer brake wire bundles on the right side, which they've replaced and re-loomed. This RV has never felt as if it had adequate braking, particularly since we live in the PNW and travel loads of mountain passes. At times even with the Allison trans brake and Duramax engine brake - it's been downright scary. So now the trailer brake wire issue is fixed and I've only towed the rig a few miles on flat ground. However, I'm still not impressed with the trailer brakes. The question for you might be... with your F350 and the integrated braking system, is it possible to lock the trailer brakes by manually adjusting and using the trailer brake controller? at 10-20 mph mine do not lock even on the maximum 10 setting. I assume your Momentum has drum brakes - correct? … Or did you opt for a electric over hydraulic disc system? Sorry for the lengthy comment, but I'd really like to hear about your steep country towing experience - if you've done any of that. Cheers... D2
We've had no issues at all towing in steep grades. Around 7-8% in some cases. Yes, we have drum brakes, but we also have six of them. Not sure if yours is double or triple axle. We can definitely lock up the brakes using the controller on about 8-8.5. I know they had some issues on the Lippert Axles for a while and GDRV switched to Dexter axles before we got out RV.
Hope that helps! 😊
@@ChangingLanes Thank you for the comeback. Indeed the Fuzion Chrome 403 is a 3 axle. I'm not sure however whether they're Dexter axles. You're the first person that I've found that could or would confirm whether one can lock the brakes on the trailer depending on gain setting. Mine certainly won't, even at low, low speeds and running the gain at 10. (Max). I have a tool coming to check the gain output at the rear 7-pin on the truck. I'm still suspicious of the entire trailer braking system AND the integrated brake controller. The RV dealer said all's peachy with the trailer brakes, but... It's frustrating that there doesn't seem to be a dealer here that can suss out the entire system as a whole. IMHO something just isn't right.
Something is definitely not right. As I understand it, the controller sends 0-12V. At max gain and controller pressed all the way, it should be 12V ad the 7pin and at the brakes.
You might also pull a wheel or two and inspect the drums. Lippert had a run of axles where the bearing seals were bad, leaking grease into the brake drums. I think that was the main reason GDRV switched to Dexter.
I love you two. I’ve been binge watching your channel all day lol. Ty for the great info❤️ are your cabinets black or brown..?
They're a dark brown. 👍🏼 Welcome to our channel! 😊
Last year (2017) we ordered a Momentum 350M with all the options you got except we didn't get the dual pane windows and we do sometimes get "sweat" on the inside so yes it was a good investment. We leave the patio steps at home, replaced the mattresses, all so simlar. It was kinda funny watching your vid's, you got the same propane monitors and I also upgraded our battery (yes only one battery) to a set of deep discharge golf cart batteries. Now the Lippert leveling system works all the time, that was frustrating. Looking forward to your battery vid you talked about making.
Thanks for watching! Just filmed the battery and inverter stuff last week, now just trying to find time to put that video together. 😎
Still working on the full Inverter video, but here's an unpublished sneak preview: changinglanesrv.com/inverter-overview/
After owning a 5th wheel with single pane windows, I'd go for dual pane every time.
Standard glass has an R value less than 1. Coatings on the glass and using certain gasses to fill the space between window panes can increase the R value slightly, but the bottom like is that dual pane windows have at least twice the R value of single pane windows.
Thanks for watching! Double R value makes sense. We've had no issues with condensation either.
I would agree 100% on the King size bed. If you think Daisy takes up space, try sleeping with a Rottweiler
Always awesome video and information
Thank you Tara and Chad be safe and happy rving
I Enjoy your channel, you guys are great ! THANKS
Great video. I stumbled on your video right after we bought our Momentum 397th! We love ours also but we are weekend campers in Florida. Maybe we will see you at a campground soon.
Excellent! Where do you typically camp?
We camp mostly at Ft Wilderness but we also go to Boggycreek Resort (not really a resort!) and in Mt Dora and Wekiva Falls Resort in Sorrento. Use to spend a lot of time in Salt Springs also. Been to Ft Desoto down by Ft Meyers. We are going to be at the rally in Georgia in November!
Awesome! We'll see you there! :)
Hi, can you provide a list of all of your suggestions and improvements to bring to a 5th wheel ? Tks. Jean
Hello! You guys are awesome and have been so helpful through this process of shopping for an rv. I do have one question though : how did you guys go about getting these upgrades? Did they do them on the site you bought the rig or did they have to ask grand design to make it for you specifically?
Hi and thank you!!! We special ordered our RV through Lazydays. We knew we wanted pretty much all of the upgrades, and the only way to get that, typically, is via special order.
The MSRP for our RV as configured was around 127K. We paid around 91K. You can generally get 25-30% off MSRP.
Grand Design has a build and price tool you might find useful: www.granddesignrv.com/shopping-tools/build-and-price-your-grand-design-rv/ We used that to build out ours, then shopped the build around to get the best deal on that build.
Good luck and thanks for watching! 😊
Love Love Love your content ... great editing Tara you are fantastic at it!!! Would love you to teach a bit about it. Seriously your upgrades were great additions... this is your home. The body paint how much would that have been? What color choices did you have? This Australian is loving it!!!!
Hi, Michelle! Thank you!
The Full Body Paint option is around $11,000. Yes... expensive, but we love it! You can see the color options in this brochure: www.granddesignrv.com/sites/default/files/brochures/Momentum-Brochure-012519lq.pdf
Thank you for watching our videos! 😊
@@ChangingLanes I don't class that as expensive I class that as an investment. The quality paint will look after her much better then the stock version which will keep your re-sale value high....in fact you will probably gain more then 11 k if you were to sell... I am really enjoying watching your vlogs as I work from home selling online in USA got to love it!!!
Hi! Really appreciate the video because I’ve been looking at a momentum 398m for awhile now. Do the all season patio doors block most of the wind? Couldn’t tell from your video if they extend to the floor. I camp at the beach a lot it is often very windy.
The newer ones are solid glass and awesome! Some wind can get in if it's strong. See: ruclips.net/video/IVJx2T1WJC0/видео.html
But those were the old doors with plastic sheets and velcro vs glass.
Just a thought. A little hand held battery powered blower would work wonders for blowing top of RV off. That’s what i use . A dewalt brand. I just put battery in and go up top and blow everything off. 👌 new viewer and love the channel
Been considering that! Already have a set of (likely) compatible Ryobi 18v batteries and various tools. Would be great for getting the puddles off the slide toppers also. Hmmmm Guess Home Depot is getting more of our money! Thanks for watching! 😎
I love your 5th wheel and I have heard great things about grand designs. I have a forest river 32 foot 5th wheel that's now 7 years old. The other day I found 4 cracks in my trailer frame at the axles. 2 on each side. Lippert is the frame manufacture and they only have a 1 year warranty on frames. I am so disappointed with Lipperts quality. They reviewed my comp, ain't and basically said it's to far out of warranty for them to help. To me this is a huge safety issue and am surprised that the RV industry is not held to a higher standard.
Love your videos and your little puppy. Stay safe on your bike.
Yikes! frame cracks sounds like a big issue.. Like total loss issue. Maybe insurance might cover it?
Love this video!!!
