    Im glad beckett doesn't give a lot of black labels. Makes me like them even more.

      Agreed, I like them being strict about how perfect a card needs to be to be classified as one. It makes it more prestigious and satisfying to get, and they wouldn't be worth much if they handed them out like candy. However, if a card is perfect, it should be graded as such, and not population controlled as some claim.

    I’ve gotten a decent amount of black labels in the past, and I’m 100% convinced BGS is just slapping 9.5 centering on perfect cards to avoid giving black labels lately. I’ve gone through thousands of cards from One Piece, Weiss Schwarz, and Japanese Pokemon recently and consistently nail everything but centering. I’ve used software and a protractor on front and back and 100% sure the centering is perfect and they still 9.5 it. I’m personally done with them between that and the quality control. So many slabs with scuffs and debris trapped inside the case, they’re just miserable to deal with… Trust me, it’s not you guys, it’s Beckett. They do not want to give black labels anymore even to the 1 in thousand cards that deserve it. Don’t beat yourself up guys, sorry about your disappointment.

      I would love to be able to disagree with you, but I can't. Just stick around for next week's video... centering really is the bane of my grading existence 😂 Though, spoiler, the video will also demonstrate they aren't completely shut off to BLs 😉

    How do you guys get the big cards in the background printed? I think that is sweet!

    • @BillionBeri
      @BillionBeri  2 месяца назад +1

      Took the cards into photoshop, extended the background to fit the dimensions of a canvas print, scaled them up using AI tools, then used a canvas printing service :)

    Will you all be getting the 2024 ONE PIECE Promo Monkey D Luffy PSA magazine exclusive #60?

    • @BillionBeri
      @BillionBeri  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes it was. I think it happened again too later on a different video I think. I hadn't turned off every gesture like I thought I had lol.
      We did get a PSA Luffy! Sadly, it's centering is so atrocious, even PSA wouldn't give it a 10

      @@BillionBeri Can't wait to see you all's new videos ....love the grade reveal vdeos and your own analysis on the grading
      I bought a few graded PSA Luffy's and the centering is bad on some of them YET PSA graded them a "10" LOL PSA is so easy on grading compared to BGS

      Stay tuned for the next one going live sometime next week... without saying too much, it validates we have some clue about what we're doing these days 😁
      And wow, I guess PSA is more generous than I thought 🤔

      I think we paid $550-ish for it. I was convinced it would go down, Tasha thought otherwise. Wife wins, we buy, she ends up being spot on, and now she reminds me every time I'm hesitant 🤣

    Are you measuring centering on the back?

    • @BillionBeri
      @BillionBeri  2 месяца назад

      I am, though, probably not as thoroughly as I should. I typically eyeball and if it looks great to the naked eye, it's probably at least 60/40. If it's looking like it favors one side too heavily, I take a closer look. I should probably do the math to find out what the maximum offset is in MM and at least measure to make sure it's in range. Would be sad to find that I'm a rockstar on my front centering while the back centering kills the 10 😂

    • @HearthstoneLegend1
      @HearthstoneLegend1 2 месяца назад +1

      It’s probably the back + the Beckett grader trying to low pop. I mass buy the same card trying to get those black labels and it really is hard to get perfect centering on both the front and the back. I don’t think they would give you a 10 if you are 60/40 on the back. I would still aim for 55/45 on the back

      @@BillionBeriusually will allow 52% - 48% on front and back, anything more off than that then they would 9.5. Lately though they will give 9.5 to 50%-50% centering front and back. I use to not be on the pop control bandwagon, but I am now when it comes to BGS black labels. They just randomly pick which ones they feel like giving a black label to lately

  • @rand0mGT

    You keep denying it’s not pop control is the reason why you keep getting gold 10 with 9.5 centering. Denial is one hella drug

      Perhaps you're right, but it's one of those things that seems entirely based on sentiment rather than hard evidence. If a whistleblower came forward or some other kind of leak occurred, we'd be fully on board. Until then, I can certainly understand where the sentiment comes from, and anecdotally it seems certainly in the realm of possibility. However, until something comes to light that takes it beyond speculation, we will remain neutrally skeptical in both directions.
