I loved that one part when the reinforcements showed up and I couldn't get Nil out of range. It's a good thing that doesn't happen in every other chapter....
Like, I get what they were going for but it really was bad with just how shit he was. I've yet to use him in the normal game but I hope he's not as bad as he is in the xenologue
I think I would have like the Xeno maps a little more if Nil was allowed to be defeated and kept retreating. Instead they made him one of the most frustrating characters to control given how reinforcements were designed in these maps.
Spoilers: ... ... ... The fact that Alear never turns into a dragon, not in base game or the DLC, is a crime. I just wanted to see big divine/fell dragon hybrid. It would have been so cool.
I mean... spoilers... □_□ A thousand years ago, Alear gave their dragonstone to Veyle and never recovered it before they died and it shattered. Ofc someone could have given them a new dragonstone but I imagine the process to bond to a new one must take a while compared to other FE universes. As for Veyle not transforming, she buried hers at some point. So even if given the opportunity, she chose not to.
Continuing missed opportunity spoilers . . . . I’m mad that they didn’t do anything with, or show us who the zero emblem was, it’s just left as a poorly done attempt to give a Sombron more depth before killing him, just like the rest of the villains in this game…
Hey developer, you know what would go great with our DLC toys we got? I think not having to go through the entire Fell Xenologue story line again. That would be awesome
My own wish would be a NG+ inclusion, with the ability to keep SP, donation level and Xenologue completion between playthroughs... Part of the reason i love replaying 3H, is because i get to snowball my characters out of control by replaying it again and again to stack up hundreds of thousands of renown, to the point where even Maddening is barely a challenge anymore! And sure, being able to keep 10,000+ SP between playthroughs would be extremely busted, but that's the entire fun or NG+: Being able to completely break the game if you want!
@@darkmetal2412 You could make some absolutely broken builds, and i really wish Engage gave us the same kind of fun... I like replaying Engage just like every other Fire Emblem, but i wish they would give you at least SOMETHING that carries over... I like having my butt kicked on a fresh save, only to start NG+ and go "Okay, now it's my turn..."

Nil is a liability on hard mode for this map, but on Maddening he's actually a glaring weakness as with twice as many wolves and additional 3 range units there's not many places you can tuck him into that the enemy can't reach. I've seen villagers with better survivability than this guy.
Both Nel and "Nil" are glass cannons. Both need time and a lot of resources to become effective units, but completely useless late to end game. The best time getting them is a different playthrough before chapter 10 imo Also, Xeno 5 and 6 are BRUTAL!
I had a feeling that would be the case, so while most people was using their late game save to do the xeno. i used my recent 2nd playthrough save on chapter 10 and even though the xeno was way harder without the extra characters and emblems. i found it worth it to being actually able to use the units.
like 90% of the challenge of the xenologues is just making sure nil doesn't die. I have had to unequip his weapon so many times because his build is so bad and he gets doubled by everything because of it.
I am glad it wasnt just me who was confused as hell on how to start the dlc. I swear I went to the well a dozen times with no clue why it wasnt working until I finally found out you had to talk to the armourer first
Funny, because I went to the well as routine not expecting the Fell Xenologue to be there. I assumed I had to go to the Devine Paralogue to find it. I’m hear like “what will the magic well give me today. Oh😮, that wasn’t planned. At least that saved me the trouble of looking for it where it wasn’t”
Merrin absolutely decimated this DLC for me. I have no idea why but her stats were always sky high compared to the rest of my dudes, literally not one other unit could keep up
Spoilers: After completing Fell Xenologue, Nil, now known as Rafal, will have a completely new personal skill which lets him go well on his own. But Nel's did not change, leaving her quite ineffective if Rafal is not in the team.
I find it funny that Nel was more useful during the xenolouge and Nil was downright useless bit after the xenolouge Nel becomes useless and Rafal becomes busted as hell like bruh what is this game lol

Characters are weird in this game, because some players say x character was weak for their playthrough while others say the character was good or busted. Example, one of my friends was saying how Diamant was weak as shit for them, and it's not just him I've seen a lot of players say that more specifically on Reddit, but for me and others Diamant basically carried us, you have a unit that can literally take on an army. This is pretty weird honestly
Definitely sums my feelings towards nil. Guy really was vander 2.0, but worse cause I had to keep this walking target from being sniped by everyone. At least Nel was useful in comparison.
I mean, you can almost sweep this map by just running Louis and Hector and literally throwing him to the wolves. Also just giving Nil tiki so he can have viable stats and maybe divine bless Nel or Alear so you don’t have to worry about them as much
On Hard mode, I found that using Engage+ on someone like Lapis and having her spam Oligoludia made this map a joke. If you give her +3 def, not only will she 1 round everyone, but she won't take damage.
Kinda sad you replaced the battle ost in this video because I think Salvation and Loss is the second best in the entire game after Determined Journey, it hits so hard
I genuinely do not know what they were thinking when designing nil like your forced to use him for the ENTIRE Xenolouge and he is just a crappy version of yunaka but at least she can actually hold her own with her high evade and being ranged. WHY DOES NIL USE A AXE MY GUY YOU DIE TO A LIGHT BREEZE. Nel is actually pretty good in my opinion though i did slap on sigurd's ring to him. Also the first mission taught me that armour characters are actually kind of busted (Louis flat out takes 0 damage from the wolves in hard and normal difficulty idk about maddening)
He only takes 0 damage in maddening with Hector emblem ring and 10+ bond support... Because the curse the wolves still attack him though, but his accuracy is a bit low with the greatlance (needed for one shot the wolves) and he is damaged by chain attacks...
I tried this on maddening in the super early chapters. BAD IDEA, I didn't realize you can't level up, I have next to no useful rings, skills, no good bond levels, only early game units. I need to come back and do this mid to late game or something.
i literally had such a hard time sometimes because all the characters that i had built and wanted to use were built terribly yunaka, alcryst, and timerra were not doing so hot but i dodnt care because they're my favorites. alcryst has house leaders so he was fine because of that but timerra needed ikes engafe weapons (also no sandstorm) and yunaka doesnt have miciah back (on this playthrough i havent got all the emblems back yet) so she uses veronica. side note: a bit long but none of my friends are in the fire emblem fan base so whatever
Weird my yunaka and alcryst were clapping cheeks all throughout I don't use timerra tho I had goldmary as off tank being an absolute menace with Eirika
@Acefreak95 idk alcryst was fine since he had house leaders but maybe yunaka was just hard to use because i usually have her miciah veronica is kind of a different playstyle
@Acefreak95 idk i dont like corrin's play style in my main story playthrough yunaka was one of my best attackers and always crit even with low crit rates i liked her more as a front line type of unit and she already dodged most things. she did stsrt to get better later on though and i git more ysed to veronica playstyle too
I love the start because I was the same, trying to figure out where it was, and then wa slike The well? Really? And I gotta admit, I hated the Xeno campaign just because of how it locks you to things. Like My Anna in the main game is one of my main healers, shes a High priest with high magic, and can one shot things if lucky.... In Xeno shes a Beserker?!? And dont get me started on the brual last mission.... Also another thing I hated Was the items "Oh cool this character has a really cool item, ill beat him for my main game...." nope items you get in xeno dont transfer over -_-

Yeah though on normal you can breeze through it in like 30 or so minutes. The difference between hard and normal is jarring.

And Vander is not a game over condition unlike Nil. Vander would be more useful in these maps to at least distract an enemy.
Vander can soak up a decent chunk of damage in the early game for you as well

What mode was this on? You seemed to be having an easier time keeping Nil alive than my play through.
Don't forget you can give the xeno characters emblems also why have you not beaten all of the bracelet chapters?
It baffled me that I could give them Emblem Rings and Bracelets, but not items in the pre-battle screen. The inventory management was a mess.

Alcryst was a godsend acting as Soren's decoy inside the woods to get the attention of the wyverns who had 0% hit chance on him with Lyn.
