When I was a kid everyone's home had peanut butter ( and often honey as well) I remember my best friends Mom telling me that she always had peanut butter and honey available for her children, even if they were so poor that they couldn't pay for anything else...
My dad is 94 and he taught me to eat peanut butter and I am 67 and I have not stopped eating it yet, our bodies still need to be taken care of and I believe that there's something very good in peanut butter and along with that i also eat salmon it has omega 3 good for keeping blood pressure down
Other great places to get omega 3 are chia seeds, flaxseeds or hemp seeds. It tastes great on a peanut butter sandwich or tonight I had yogurt (low sugar) with peanut butter, a banana, and some chia/hemp/ flaxseed mix and it actually tasted tasty.
I always wondered what the nutritional value was for peanut butter. I eat a lot of it because it is cheap protein. Never knew the great value to it. I always loved the taste of it as a kid. Great video!
Had cancer 12-15 years ago, mostly drink protein milk shakes, with non fat milk, lots of dark chocolate, almonds, cashews, walnuts, sunflower kernels, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, honey...man, didn't realize how complicated that was...sure makes me feel better...and cancer free for around 12-15 years...just for good measure, I have a glass of wine to begin and end the day...doing good and sticking with it!
I figured it out ...think about eating variety everyday....you eat junk but later eat healthy few days then change to something else salad ...stuff that has antioxidant.less sugars ...fiber foods junk protein fish chicken hotdogs ect
As a kid I was considered small. But I had an amazing amount of strength and energy. I ate a peanut butter sandwich every single day that I went to elementary school. My mother said I was strong because of the peanut butter. She was right!😊
As a Type One (1) Diabetic on an insulin pump since 2000, I use a few teaspoons of peanut butter and a glass of 2% milk (8 oz) as my "life saver" when my blood glucose (BG) drops low. I use a diabetic alert service dog and after my BG comes back up, she too is rewarded with a teaspoon full of peanut butter. She loves it and so do I. I used it as a child when I had low blood sugar and have always found it to be much better than a just glass of orange juice. The peanut butter and a glass of milk brings my BG up to normal and hold it there whereas, the OJ will cause my BG to bounce up and down until I actually have some protein. What a concept! Have a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter and a glass of milk. I love it! Thank you!
i’m addicted to it and literally panic if i run out . i always have at least three jars at all times . it has saved me on my diets , pregnancy , and stressful days ! if i ever run out of it …. well … believe me .. i won’t !♥️
Same with me. I usually have at least a couple of large jars of it in the pantry. I usually have a peanut butter and jam sandwich at least once a week, and put it on cookies and crackers every day. My dog loves it too!!
That may work now because you may be young but down the road you want to eat organic peanut butter with not much ingredients like hydrogenated oils or vegetable oils and better to eat sour dough bread or gluten free bread
@@MusicofDeHaroI eat the same as that person. I also lift weights 5 times a week and do 5-10 miles of cardio almost everyday. BTW I'm 63 years old with no health problems. How far down the road do you recommend modifying my diet? LOL.

Sadly it also packs on the pounds for me. Its no longer allowed in our house. But it was so good while it lasted. It is calorie dense. Also be watchful of the added sugars since that just compounds the problems and mitigates any health benefit.
I’m 64 diabetic and arthritic. Peanut Butter has always been my go to food. I usually have a sandwich at least once a day. I’ve shared this information with all my doctors and asked if I should stop. They all have said to keep eating it. This video let me know why my mineral and vitamin blood panels are always in range, my blood pressure is low as is my cholesterol. I had a scan done that shows very little plaque in my veins. Explains why I’m in pretty good shape compared to family members who have teased me for my “peanut butter addiction “. Now if I could just stop smoking I think I might live another 20 years or so.❤
Just pay close attention to the ingredients people!! Avoid Skippy, Jiff, etc, the ones that remove peanut oil (it’s sought after) and add canola back in. Ingredients should be “peanuts, salt”. Pro tip: With the old fashioned style that allows the oil to come to the top.. Mix it thoroughly (you may prefer to remove half of the contents first)..After it’s nicely blended, keep the jar in the fridge, it doesn’t separate this way! 👌
Yesss! I figured this out by just randomly doing it. Im like why the heck does it get super oily and then hard to stir, everytime I go to use it! I thought let me mix it once and put in fridge to keep it cold and mixed. Worked so good!
Of course cold peanut butter (I prefer almond) is impossible to spread on a sandwich. I just stir and leave it in the cabinet. I also will add it to every bowl of cereal, or just eat it right out of the jar...
Finally, positive information regarding eating peanut butter! I will be 60 shortly and have been eating peanut butter since my childhood. I eat it almost every day, usually with breakfast and sometimes still have a peanut butter and jelly (or honey) sandwich at lunch. I also make smoothies after my workouts and usually will have peanut butter in them with several other ingredients. The one thing Ive heard the most is to only eat the "natural" peanut butters. I have only had either Skippy or Jif peanut butter on a regular basis. I've tried the others but I don't like the taste, and stirring in the oil is not my favorite thing, either. My total cholesterol is 125 and my triglycerides are mid 60s. Blood pressure is in the normal range and my resting heart rate is about 48bpm. I would say peanut butter is definitely not hurting my fitness, and I will definitely continue eating it.
@Yvonne’s Random Thoughts Hi Yvonne, no, I don't take any medications, I've been fortunate with good genes and I have always stayed in shape through various forms of exercise. I lowered my heart rate over the past 6 months by adding higher intensity training, mainly stair climbing.
I eat peanut butter every day. I have gone from 195 lbs down to 150 lbs in a couple of months. Some days, peanut butter is all that I eat. Peanut butter is very healthy, in my opinion. ❤ 🥜
Yeah, keep telling yourself peanut butter is healthy! Losing weight is the easy part. Keeping it off is MUCH harder. Let's see if your weight is the same in two years, while still eating peanut butter.
@Khumbu0609 Yes, in 2 years, I will still be thinner, and I will still be eating my peanut butter. Don't knock it until you try it. Keeping the weight off isn't as hard as you think. You just have to keep a positive outlook and keep eating healthy.
@@lisahill7453 I DID try it for 50 years! I yo-yo'd the whole time, so I have LOTS of experience! I finally lost 80 lbs at the age of 66 and have kept it off for nearly 7 years, thanks to the structure of Bright Line Eating. Just remember to always buy organic. Peanuts are heavily sprayed with pesticides. Also, look for peanut butter with flax seeds. It’s a good way to add some omega 3’s to your diet. Balance is everything.
That was the first thing that I thought of! If it isn't Organic, it isn't going to be good for you, especially when it has sugar, corn syrup and fillers in it, on top of the pesticides, etc.
Peanuts themselves are not sprayed as they are a root crop like potatos. But organic is always preferable but generally more expensive. Also read the labels. Most common brands have vegetable fats added as filler and sugar added presumably to make kids more attracted to it.
@@chuckaddison5134 And where do you think those pesticides go? They get washed into the soils and accumulate there while they degrade into other chemical compounds. Also think about the other crops grown in those same fields when they are rotated... specifically cotton. Since that's not a food crop, they can spray a lot more without concern.
Try using 1 tbsp of peanut butter and Greek yogurt when making tuna salad (for wraps or sandwiches) instead of mayo. It taste so much better and much healthier too (plus probiotics from Greek yogurt). Add DASH seasoning, sprinkle a tiny bit of salt and 1/8 of a sweetner packet (sugar substitute) to have that sweet and salty taste. Add sharp cheddar (preferably those little squared ones for crackers) to your wrap or sandwich. It’s heavenly. It’s also low sodium for anyone with high BP.
never paid much attention to sodium restriction as its a cancer preventer. my doc agrees they have pills for hypertension but none for cancer. that concoction of yours sounds interesting.
My father ate peanut butter at least once per day from his earliest childhood. He lived to be 83. I like peanut butter also. I add it to stir-fry dishes to help mellow out the hot peppers I cook with. I just had my gall bladder removed and I get intense abdominal distress if I eat too much fat. Peanut butter is almost entirely solidified fat
I had my gallbladder out too and I found it took about two years for my body to adjust to life without a gallbladder. I would have huge belches after I’d eat. If your not belching to relieve the discomfort try drinking Dr.Pepper, that helped me before and after surgery to belch and relieve my discomfort. Hope you feel better soon.
@@mebpratt859 I discovered that I can tolerate the peanut-butter Chinese dipping sauce I like, if I use it sparingly. I'm in the New York City area, and we don't do Dr Pepper here :-(
My local market has a peanut grinder. You make your own peanut butter from organic peanuts. Amazing peanut flavor and no cheap oils or sugars added. Just add a smidgin of salt to complete the experience.
Yo my grocery store has this too, but there is no salt in the peanuts. I've tried adding salt after it's ground but then it tastes really salty and gross. Do you ever have this problem? What kind of salt do you use?
yeah I love that as well. honey has gotten really pricey though and because I'm a diabetic I gotta watch my carbs. but honey is a LOT better than refined sugar for sure.
This helps me feel better about my autistic son having food texture sensitivity and wants pb&j every day at least twice. He also eats chicken nuggets and found a veggie version that he likes for everything else his diet normally missed out on
Always nice to be reminded of these benefits. I've always know that peanut butter was a good source of protein. I also read or heard that milk is a good protein source that somehow couples with the peanut butter protein (this is my layman's memory of the terminology) - and that it's why milk seems such a natural and effective thing to drink for washing out the stickiness of the peanut butter. Milk has protein that somehow enhances the protein of the peanut butter. The total protein gain is greater than the sum of the 2 sources. Peanut butter and milk were designed to go together, it seems.
I eat peanut butter sandwiches often and always wash them down with a glass of milk. I'm 75 years old and use no medications and hit the gym 5 days a week. Life can be great when you've got good health and peanut butter helps. PS: My dog loves it too!
The amino acid profiles compliment each other. Peanut butter isn’t a whole protein on it’s own so the amino acid profile of milk provides the amino acids that peanut butter lacks. Leucine especially is important for protein synthesis and is adults need 2-3g of it per meal for efficient protein synthesis. But all essential amino acids are important
I love peanut butter and always have. I eat it by the spoonful and put it on my cereal always. Try putting it on toast and dunking your toast in orange juice; might sound weird to some, but wow that is so delicious! Also peanut butter on toast dunked in a good hot chocolate is almost unbelievable!
Remember that Peanuts and cotton are often rotated through the same fields... Since cotton is not a food crop, the rules for chemical applications are much more lenient. Those chemicals can reside in the soils for multiple seasons.
I tried to stop eating my love for peanut butter! I had to go back to it. I actually put it in my oatmeal’ my smoothie’s. And even in my yogurt! I loved peanut butter pretty much my whole life.
Make sure you watch what type of bread you eat with your peanut butter; like Rye or Pumpernickel/sour dough, not enriched white bread. My brother ate peanuts and peanut butter his whole life. 4 years ago decided to have peanut butter everyday ... in a few months became deathly allergic to peanuts. He nearly died. Which I never thought was possible. Immunologist and allergy specialist told him "yeah it happens a lot" and said it was called adult late onset peanut allergy (due to immune response to overexposure of peanut proteins). So watch out, and be aware that just because you've spent your whole life eating peanuts doesnt mean you wont be suddenly allergic to them. And once you do, it ruins your life. My brother cant eat any food he doesnt prepare himself, no more eating out at places and restaurants (because he's had severe reactions even when they promised it had no peanuts, so they clearly lie), has to avoid a stay away from a lot of things, etc.
The same was for my daughter she ate peanut butter all the time growing up as a kid at 19 she developed a deadly peanut allergy that nearly killed her multiple times I think the person in this video should also be informing people on the downfalls of eating peanut butter everyday because she is only giving part of the equation
Even if you don't become severely allergic, you can develop an inflammatory response as an adult to chemicals in peanuts called aflatoxins. The response manifests itself as muscle aches and joint stiffness. I ate a lot of peanut butter as a kid, but had to cut way back as an adult. I still like the taste just as much as I ever did, though.

We have for many years now bought only fresh ground peanut butter. It really is the best, and is readily available in many stotes around our area. Now we have bought our own grinder.
how do you "grind" peanut butter? now if you wanna grind peanuts just put them in a coffee grinder. But I don't think putting peanut BUTTER in a coffee grinder is gonna work out very well.
You can make your own very easily. All you need is peanuts, of your choice, see types in supermarket, a blender, & a jar. Then you know what’s in your mix.
I once asked a nurse what do you feed patients with bedsores if you do not have protein shakes or milk. She said one tablespoon of peanutbutter for each patient. It is a protein that gets to the bloodstream quickly. Sounds like great advice😊

One of my favorite foods and I agree, very healthy but you must eat organic peanuts, not the chemically based as that part does make a big difference and it surprised me that issue was not brought up nor the lard they add to the popular brand names or other things rather than just peanuts and a good quality salt. Youthful at 67 and eating peanut butter daily, for years with my organic eggs every day. Yummy... with honey... heavenly foods.
Wow! This is great news for me because nobody loves peanut butter more that I do! I eat it and make recipes from it on a constant basis. I'm thinking it might be responsible for the great report I got on my heart work and blood sugar!

Medjool dates stuffed with peanut butter is the perfect snack. Eat chilled if you can wait. Use natural peanut butter with just peanuts and (or no) salt for superior peanut flavour 🥜
I have been a ravenous peanut butter eater for around 60+ years and usually more than a normal daily amount. I have eaten Adams Peanut Butter for the last 30 years. I have rarely ever missed a day in my life without a healthy serving of PB. I have also seen many articles saying to much peanut butter can bring on negative health conditions. Recently, my hands have been breaking out in rashes which I never experienced in my entire life. It may be that my body has said, enough is enough and is finally developing an allergy to it. Even with the rashes, I can not stop eating it and will just have to suffer the consequences because I like it to much to stop . :)
Been a fan of peanut butter since a child. I used to take the jar up to my bedroom and spoon it empty in my room. And my mom always wondering where it went :D I always smell it when I'm about to consume it, smells to great
raw better Difference Between Peanuts and Peanut Butter Peanut butter may have more carbohydrates due to added sugar and may contain less fibre. On the other hand, peanuts have fewer carbohydrates and more fibre because of their skin. Fibre assists in removing toxins and fat from the body. It also brings down the glucose level.
I have always loved peanut butter, however in my nutrition journey I’ve recently discovered that peanuts contain a high amount of pesticides due to their soft shells which grow under ground. Something to be aware of..
@@lynclegg2235 the point is that the soft shells allow whatever is in the soil inside the peanut.. I personally don’t really trust the ‘organic’ labels completely, but do what seems best to you
If it wasn’t for peanut butter and homemade eggnog I would have been out of luck nutrition wise when I was a kid. I was a very picky eater and ate very little meat and allergic to cooked eggs. At 70 I still eat one to two tablespoons a day. It helps to eat a spoonful when I become very hungry. That’s all it takes for me to feel full for hours. Crazy Richard’s peanut butter (use to be Krema) is peanuts and salt, that’s all that is in it. Best quality, not at all grainy like the other peanut & salt only ones out there on the market which I don’t care for.

So glad this video came up in my recommendations - I forgot how great PB is for health. Of course I get the good stuff (only 2 ingredients). I used to hate the time needed to mix the oil back into the butter, but then I started storing the unopened jars upside down - the oil would work through the butter to the other end, then mixing is so much quicker. Good thing the mixing is only necessary when first opening the jar.
I just bought my first jar of peanut butter and I like it. I had never tasted it before despite the fact that I worked in importing health foods and this was considered a health food. In the last year I started shattering my personal record of 83 pushups to like 93, then to 100, and now currently 139 in one go... I credit this to peanut butter / peanuts... There are a lot of variables with peanut butter. Natural peanut butter would be the healthiest, I've heard a mixture of good and bad things about peanut butter. I love it! Thank you!

Also avoid those that contain ´hydrogenated oils'. Unfortunately most regular brands contain this deadly ingredient.
Yesss! I figured this out by just randomly doing it. Im like why the heck does it get super oily and then hard to stir, everytime I go to use it! I thought let me mix it once and put in fridge to keep it cold and mixed. Worked so good!
Good comment
Of course cold peanut butter (I prefer almond) is impossible to spread on a sandwich. I just stir and leave it in the cabinet. I also will add it to every bowl of cereal, or just eat it right out of the jar...
I’ll just get it at Sprouts or Natural Grocers. They sell organic and minimally processed foods.
I buy nearly everything based on price.
Nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never heard of this, I'll eat a jar while researching it
I eat peanut butter sandwiches often and always wash them down with a glass of milk.

@lewisperry01 Wrong... Eat what you want... Telling others it is healthy is just lying.
I think Kerman is (was) made in Columbus, OH????
Peanut butter is an essential part of my being ❤
Now that was an eye opener for me I love peanut butter and have it a couple of times a week on toast but never realized how much goodness is in it ,thank you for the upload, keep up the good work you all do to help us stay as healthy as possible
I eat peanut butter every day and all that happened was I gained weight
Because most of them are low quality.Filled with sugars and trans fats. Its hard to find quality butter.
Now,the real peanut butter has only two ingredientes.
Salt,and roasted peanut butter.
Those are healthy.
I don't know about eating it yet but I have been smoking peanut butter off and on the last probably 30 day's and daily around the clock the last 5. I think peanut butter breath is a dandy of good strain when grown right. It's made my favorite strains list. Happy Toking folks and may your day be happy and night peaceful. Audios!
I love peanut butter! Especially peanut butter and syrup. Complete meal.
Bet cha would love peanut butter and honey.....really great with grapes 🍇 😋 👌 😀 🙋♂️
The syrup is extremely bad for you.
Amazingly true. I fought so hard to stir the oil in the natural peanut butter which is healthier. Leaving it upside down for a while saved much work.
I make my own with Brazilian nuts and eat a table spoon a day or sometimes more cause it’s so damn good
I’m confused. Brazil nuts are not peanuts, so how do they make peanut butter? Brazil nuts have a completely different health profile than peanuts.
Eating to many brazil nuts can be toxic
I just bought my first jar of peanut butter and I like it. I had never tasted it before despite the fact that I worked in importing health foods and this was considered a health food.
Little sachets of peanut butter are given to build up the dying starving children in war zones. Remember Ethiopia? This food saved millions. 👍☘🌻
I'm soooo happy peanut butter is this good for us because I've eaten a ton of it in my 36 years
Regular peanut butter like jif, Peter Pan etc contains mold and alpha toxins. The Valencia peanuts however do not. Kirkland sells a creamy Valencia peanut butter that I use. I also use zero carb bread like thinslim foods, 14 grams of carbs but they're wiped out because of the 14 grams of fiber, hence it's zero carb bread
For a few years my maximum pushups I could do in one go was 83 pushups... Then I started eating spoons full of peanut butter regularly (whenever i can afford to)... In the last year I started shattering my personal record of 83 pushups to like 93, then to 100, and now currently 139 in one go... I credit this to peanut butter / peanuts... Best of all, my injuries to muscles dropped to zero, cause sometimes I do 1000 combined pushsups in a morning and I don't even feel any stiffness the next day, vs five years ago, I did 500 pushups in an hour and injured myself and took about 3 weeks for that upper back sprain to heal. But best of all, peanuts is addictively delicious - I really hope Heaven has lots of peanuts and peanut butter.
you need to do slow pushups... like 5 seconds for each one in perfect form... this will increase strength plus save you joints...to many reps, you will where your joints out...also try banded pushups or throw a 25 lb weight on your back...
@@roadstar499 absolutely. I do 3 count pushups with a weight vest and my 5 year old sitting on my shoulder blades 💪😎
LOL, I want to see a video of you doing 139 push-ups in a row. See, as a person that works out,I don't believe anything someone says on RUclips without proof. Just like the 500 push-ups in an hour.
@@jimbeam2705 i can't speak for him,but many years ago i used to do sets of 100 pushups when i was only 16... today at 63 i do 15-20 slow pushups and it takes everything i got... many video's of guys doing pushups and pull up numbers that are insane...not sure peanut butter has anything to do with it though lol
And unfortunately doing that many push-ups is doing damage to your body that you obviously can't see
Very well done...appreciate the studies behind your information.
I have begun to work out and l added a protein shake that have peanut butter and l love it..
As a teen, I would come home from school and scoop out a table spoon of pb . . . And share it with my dog ( I would save some for him! You didn't think we took turns having a bite, did you?)
Sure why not lol
😆 I shared ice cream cones with my dog. Her side, my side. She was very polite about it.
So
Sweet
dogs absolutely love it! They're a lot more omnivorous than cats.
I was eating 900 calories a day of peanut butter. A table spoon here and there adds up.
No kidding. I had to stop eating it. Its too easy to over consume and puts on the pounds FAST!! I was addicted to it but so glad I quit!!!
yeah its caloric...
There are a lot of variables with peanut butter. Natural peanut butter would be the healthiest, I've heard a mixture of good and bad things about peanut butter. Some peanuts are full of mold and fungus because they come from the ground. Some people say they now have bio-engineered peanuts to reduce mycotoxins. Then other people say there are no GMO peanuts in the USA. In saying that I decided to eat some peanut butter and crackers after watching this video.
Make sure you buy organic only. The label should only read: roasted peanuts (and salt, if you like it salted). No other ingredients.
Huh... peanuts are a legume they ALL come from the ground. fungus & mold are probably good for you its not cyanide.
A interest did a study overseas of well to do kids vs poor = well to do kids who consumed peanut butter had higher incidence of liver cancer
In the morning i have greek yoghurt with blueberries mkxed with jam and peanut butter, and honey roasted peanuts. delicious and full of protein
