Thanks. I rebuilt a thrift store find and installed it in the bathroom sink. The stem has a plastic tab that has to mate to the slot in the faucet housing so the stem will install only one way. I should have put some silicone grease on the O ring and may do it to a new stem assembly. Another video shows the spring ans seat that is UNDER the stem assembly so I will have to redo my work after I get the spring and seat kit, RP4993 . The stem assembly instructions show the spring/seat but no part number nor reason to replace it as well. Thanks for the video.
I watched a video with the spring removal as part of it and kept trying to remove a spring assembly that didn't exist, lol. Glad to have this video as a counterpoint. However, re the grease, since I sometimes drink water from the faucet, I didn't want to add grease unnecessarily.
Thanks! I didn’t realize it was that easy to fix. Mine had been leaking for several months now. I thought I would have to call a plumber.
@@rodneydavis1139 glad to hear it helped you! Tks for watching!
Thank you very much for showing us how to replace it. All other lady from another clips don’t know much what they are doing.
Spot on, including the part number at Home Depot. Good job.

I missed where that little white piece that came with the replacement went.

Thank you
Are the stems universal if you can’t find the same brand ??
@@Jackie-lg4tt I'm not sure, to be honest... But, I'd bring yours to a local store and ask for help there. Good luck with your project!
