Cool project, but this is a how to not to wire an outlet. You buried at least two junction boxes inside the walls and did not use wire clamps on the metal box. The wire insulation is going to run on the metal and could eventually short and possibly cause a wire or shock someone.

Construction and building must be your profession. There is no way a regular person (me) would be able to do a DIY project like that. That work is impeccable and looks like it was done during the homes construction.

Awesome job man, try putting a mirror or a poster or painting on that wall on the left… you can get something cool also, maybe cnc cut some personal message related to your family and just glue it there… maybe over a small mirror… what you did is awesome!

I’m surprised that whole closet didn’t have storage access under the stairs. This project was next level. Beginner project could’ve been knocking down the drywall inside the storage closet to claim the whole space under the stairs.

Dry cool. I have a similar situation, but mine is a full cupboard under the stairs. Very tempting to open it up and use it in some other way, but it is full of storage.. 😀 inspiring colour scheme too.. perhaps I’ll just paint.. 😁

Niiiccce! 😀 I was thinking maybe somewhere down the line, if you desired. . . you could install a small bar sink in the counter top, and make it a wet bar. but not sure if your house is on a slab, or has a crawl space underneath. running plumbing could pose a problem with this Idea, unless there are cold water and sewer lines running nearby, that could be junctioned off from. . .

You weakened the staircase for sure. Hopefully nothing heavy is moved up and down the stairs. You missed an opportunity to reinforce the stair when creating the cubby hole spaces by running supports all the way to the floor at the divisions. Looks neat and cozy nonetheless. 😅

Great job! We reclaimed the area below our stairs for storage. It was a switchback stair and had crazy framing below it.
