Part 3 video of the Ferrari F1 Transmission problem.
In the video I strip apart the notorious F1 ACTUATOR, ideantify the common problem to repair and give an overview of the F1 system setup as in the Ferrari 360 430 612 599 cars, how it all pieces together with the various components.

I think that it is so useful. Most of us thought that we would need to send the car away to some mythical magician who would carry out some dark magic. Your video has demystified this issue and made it possible for most of us to carry out a repair like this. Thank you for all of your vids. I watched the 348 service video last night before I do the same with my Mondial T.
3 years later after watching this again where I am actually looking to get a 360, this video gives me hope that I can actually do this stuff myself and not pay 10k at a dealer all the time. Still love the channel mate! Thanks!
Great video, I've been waiting so long that someone dared to the F1 Actuator. Maybe you can punch or press a bolt of the right size out of stainless steel. I'm already looking forward to the next video. I hope everything goes well.
Great video. I bet the Ferrari dealership watching this to see how it's done is who disliked the video HA HA. keep it coming. Good content.
Danny Johnson yes probably right there 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good afternoon you I love your videos i have a Ferrari 360 F1 modena 2004 the transmission is giving me issues all the gears are switching perfectly fine but the transmission is giving me a weird metal scraping sound but it runs good what would you recommend me to better my transmission thank you
Mine is doing the same thing, sporadically when shifting. It sounds like what you would hear when shifting an old manual from 1st to 2nd…similar to a bad syncro. But it’s happening in all gears.
Great video, I suggest using a mic so we can clearly hear everything your saying.....keep the videos coming 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks. yes its on my list to buy for the videos. I must mumble as you are not the first to suggest this ha ha ha
@@RatarossaGreat informative video over all, your saying very important stuff so I definitely want to get every word 😊😊
Also did you upgrade the 30amp f1 pump relay fuse to the 50amp or the upgraded smart emt f1 pump relay from Scuding swiss?? Thanks
UrbanRacer I believe I upgraded it years ago. Think I even have a spare in the drawer. I pretty much daily this CS when it’s working😂. I actually believe that has really helped the car as my other Ferraris that sit still in the garage unused all suffer with far more problem.
During my ownership of this 360, I have changed 1x F1 selespeed pump/motor. The car is still on its original clutch system including bearing, I purchased it with full history @ 19k miles. So it’s been a superb Ferrari to own and maintain
@@Ratarossa glad you told me that, I'm actually buying my first F1 360 next week Saturday, I'm sooo excited.. it's a 2000 modena with 28k miles and just had its 30k major service in January, clutch changed at 22k. I'm nervous about the f1 system. Do you know anything about the smart emt f1 pump upgraded relay from
www.scuding.com/Shop/en/ecu-solutions/101-smart-emt-relay-ecu.html
@@Urbanracer Congratulations, exciting stuff. Ive owned 2 variants of the 360 in the last 20 years and both were great. Ive not heard of that smart relay but with the pump upgrade i've read mixed opinions on upgrading it, most experts say that the standard one is good enough and by adding a more powerful system you run the risk of masking a problem. Now that I understand the system more clearly none of it really worries me, the TCU (computer) are often upgraded to the faster Stradale version so plenty available on ebay etc, the relay and pump are both cheap items. Solenoids and accumulator on the f1 power unit are interchangeable from other brands (alfa/fiat etc), hydraulic lines if damaged can be make up by any good company, sensors on the f1 actuator are cheap £15 peugeot items and the video shows that the actuator itself is not that complex.
Great video mate...can the bleeding be done without the diagnostic system? And what are the symptoms caused by that broken pin.?..I have a 360 modena and will not go in2 reverse
You can do a certain amount of bleeding on the F1 system by running the car and cycling through the gears while opening the two bleed nipples ( as per the the final video). however unfortunately you cannot bleed the actuator without the sw. The broken pin will not allow the car to change gear . Have you inspected yours to see if you have any leaks ?
@@Ratarossa yes I have checked for leaks...none visible..the fluid in the reservoirr is slso very low but i was told it should only a couple of mm above the metal plate inside the body of the reservoir ... also the car won't turnover with the key..I have to jump the starter with key on to start it..do you know which relay is for the starter?
8:04 "I'm not going to bore you with that". No no no, I want to see every little tiny baby step in this process. It scares me to death thinking of trying to do this on my own and I need you to hold my hand through it all.
Great video!! Any guidance for fixing the F1 clutch on a Maserati GT 4200 / Cambiocorsa? Any thoughts on changing the whole gearbox to manual??
Hi there, I just recently purchased a f430 and when I was running through all the fluids I noticed the atf in the F1 overflow tank is contaminated with water as indicated by the strawberry milkshake look to it. It shifts fine and I don't have any warning lights on... in your experience how can water get in there and what can I do about it?
That sounds strange, Ive not heard of this before. Good however that everything works. I would however fully flush the system now while it hasn't caused any damage. The fluid is cheap its just access to the SW to purge the system that is a little more tricky.
The scan tool you employ looks very good especially for bleeding the F1, do you recommend?
You got balls I’ll do the oil and maybe the fuel pumps in mine but wow man that’s balsie
Hi what’s the part name in the time 10:02 ? My friend Ferrari just broken that part
Any luck finding a rebuild kit? The companies that refurbish these units have to get parts from somewhere. Direct from Magnetti Marelli?
Hello , i have this gearbox light going up and gear shift indication show me a line and didn’ t start on the first ignition … i changed the accumulator because im thinging from it , theres somebody had this problem please
Does the Maserati Granturismo have the same gearbox/issues?
I believe the GranTurismo has the newer style shift mech. I'm not 100% sure though
Is there anywhere I can get the bolt that holds the 2 halves of the actuator together mine is broken
Hi mate thanks for video 💪,

Any idea what’s happening here ??
Many thanks
Matt ☺️
Where did you get the replacement pin mate ?
Also if the13mm bolt is not removed can the job still be done without the jig?
Would you rent out your software tool plus a deposit?
I have exactly the same issue...but no sd2 or other...I do have snapon but no good for ferrari..
Thanks
Thanks
What's the cost of repairing the actuator
generally 2000 +
Hi, where can I find the app for my Ferrai 360 to relearn the Gearbox? I had the same problem!
why would it cause an intermittent problem? when driving?
You are a a genius! Thanks!
Great videos! We are heading to the UK this month love to meet you for a beer! I’m a Ferrari owner too. Where are u located?
great, I'm about 30 mins from london heathrow airport .
Omg please make the kits avail for F430 also!
Another great video. Many thanks.
great video
I have a 360 F1 and when driving cruising while in 6th it feels like it disconnect and the 6 flashes and the transmission light comes off, I must to downshift to 4th gear for the numbers to stop flashing and the light disappear and then I can shift back to 6th. Is this the possible cause? I took it to the dealership twice, once for an extensive service and after it started to happen, then took it to fix the shifting issue and they replaced the F1 fluid and something else I dont know and the problem still there.... not saying they charge you like they were certified and knowledgeable of what they do....
