First and foremost, this interview is a must be listened to no matter what your and my political leanings are. David Sanger helps us to look beneath many of the proverbial onion rings of the topics and concerns that he covers. I do have a concern about his light brushstroke when he quickly addresses the focus on what I know as priceless issues, e.g., lgbtq2+ rights, BLM movements, and a woman's human right to bodily autonomy. Yet, it may not be his so-called fight. David spends a fair portion of this interview on missile defence and tyrannical world leader alliances, just to mention a few. With that said, I highly recommend this talk for a look at the elements underlying world conflicts and disconcerting relations between unusual bedfellows. Thank you David Sanger for sharing your time with us and to C-SPAN for being a valuable source for us all to explore. 🌸

Does the book answer this question, taken from information learned in this part of the interview: If our missile defense system is now obsolete, what is the next series of steps we take to defend ourselves from the tested Chinese missiles?

Most Americans believe we spend 3-4 times what the CCP spends on defense. Senator Sullivan revealed the Defense Intelligence Agency determined that China spends an equivalent amount as the US. When you factor in their Civilian Military Fusion and their warships are build by Chinese State Owned Companies (the cost doesn't show up in their budget), they are getting much more bang for the buck (DOD reliance on civilian contractors for functions that could be handled by conscripts also drives up our costs). In fact for 2 decades China has engaged in the largest military buildup since the end of the COLD WAR. In summer 2023, Senator Sullivan and several other Senators (bipartisan) introduced bill S.1791 - China Defense Spending Transparency Act, to educate the public about the true nature of China's military buildup. I don't know why the bill seems to be stuck in the Select Committee on Intelligence. I live in Florida so contacted Senator Rubio who is the ranking member on that committee to find out but he has not responded. This bill seems like a no brainer, does anyone know why the bill is stalled?
