The thing that makes this feel the strangest to me, is how (as far as I can tell) it seems to change ALL lines to Japanese, rather than keeping a few in their native languages as many character occasionally do. Mei letting out little bits of Chinese for example, or D'Va adorably grumbling irritatedly in Korean after something goes wrong. All the small bits of French, Japanese, etc, mixed in really did a lot to help give the characters... character. Seems a little sad that the Japanese might be missing out on that.
+UnknownSquid maybe there aren't many bilingual japanese voice actors. i would think a chinese-japanese speaker wouldn't be hard to find, though. either way, yeah, the game loses a lot of character without the native utterances.

Why didn't they just have both Eng Voice Actor of Genji and Hanzo to voice the Japanese voice as well? They're both Japanese. Most of Genji's phrases (in the English version) were already Japanese to begin with and Hanzo's Japanese voice in this version sounds too young in my opinion. All the female characters sounds great, especially Mei and Tracer sounds much cuter but I do feel like the male characters are a bit of a step down compare to the English one. I mean you can't beat Junkrat's Aussie accent lol.

On the battle.net launcher, choose #options and scroll down to Overwatch. There, you can find the ability to change the text language and the spoken language separately. Languages cannot be changed from in-game options, only from the battle.net launcher.
What baffles me is that Hanzo and Genji already spoke Japanese. Why didn't they just keep the same voice actors and let them read more lines in Japanese? For that matter, I think they shoulda had all the current voice-actors do their lines in Japanese. I dunno, I just like consistency...
The way Genji spells his ultimate..why is it different? In english it says "Hyujino kiro kure" which means "Feel my dragonblade" Why do they make him "Hyu-ji nu kurae" in the Japanese one?
