Well for starters Casey is top-notch. High football IQ, dynamic passer, class act. He had no time to throw at NEB and ended up getting hurt because of that. He was also recovering from surgery during the spring which put him behind Simms in reps. New coaching staff, new direction of the offense and hes no longer a perfect fit. He will be great wherever he goes if they have an OLine and receivers to speak of. QB Richard Torres also entered the portal. We were way over the scholarship limit.
Casey almost died every game last year with Nebraska trash O-Line… might have been the worst O-line in the Power 5 last year. As a Nebraska fan, I hope Casey finds a school that works out for him. The dude’s a baller who hasn’t found the right program at the right time. Hopefully third times a charm.
He injured the thumb on his throwing hand in the 2nd half of that Oklahoma game when at Texas. His production fell off immediately after that, for the rest of the season. Caught a bad break and with Ewers coming in, moving on meant a fresh start for him.
As a longhorn fan we still love Casey here in Austin. It was unfortunate to see him go because he was fun to watch but with the QB competition getting rough he went to Nebraska for the benefit of his career. I’m still rooting for the guy
He had a very bad offensive line at both Texas and Nebraska, thus, he got hurt. I was looking forward to seeing a Casey @ 100% in 2023. He's going to make a great QB for whoever gets him. He's a class act and I wish him well. I will be following this guy, he's had a lot of hard knocks @ Texas and Nebraska. As a NU fan I have never seen him play @ 100%.
Thompson was better his one year at Texas starting than Ewers was. He had no OL at Nebraska and a mediocre run game and still didn't just suck. He's a guy that needs some stabilization. Plenty talent and if he left earlier, MANY teams would have been looking at him. Auburn's scheme and run game will provide great support. It's not like they have stars at receiver, but he'll do way more than than anything they have at QB.
@robertbeverly8010 my thoughts exactly. Crazy part is, he should have been the starter last year if he stayed. After watching Ewers, no way should that kid have been the starter over him. I'm pretty sure he was told he might want to leave.
Would love to see a video on Frank Harris from UTSA. Age wise he's approaching Weinke land and likes to play college football as he's been at UTSA since 2017.
As an Auburn Tigers fan, I can totally see him as QB. His numbers scream Auburn QB. And his career doesn't hinge on winning a Heisman or a title- just beating Bama.
He is good. I get how bad he was at Nebraska with frost especially after all the stuff that come out about frost. He shows spots of greatness but at the end he never could pull off the big games really. He is fighter though! And hope he does well wherever he goes! I’m surprised he didn’t stay at Nebraska but that place is a wreck at the moment. Best of luck to him and well wishes.
Reports say Casey left on good terms, no drama. He wants to be a guaranteed starter (rightly so) for his last year at a program that fits his playing style better. He's a passer, not a runner or scrambler like Sims which is what Rhule is going for. Nothing that happened at Nebraska was Casey's fault. Our O-line was really bad, Casey got hurt and missed several games. Those games were our biggest losses. He was a great leader during a very rough year and he's a much better player than our record reflected. I wish him the best.
I'm not sure I would call him a prodigy lol. Let's be honest, he was a mid 4 star for a reason. He's below average. Does that sound like a prodigy to you? Me neither Just to clarify, as a Texas grad and fan, I was happy to have Casey, but that Alamo bowl game was a huge outlier. I feel for the kid, but he also lies. He said he and another player were the only two players who had a car. Like, wut? Why lie over something so stupid when you could look at the football parking lot and see all the cars. It was even posted and he erased the post after being exposed. I don't hold anything against him, but it's odd that he would lie over something that absurd, especially in an era of social media. He really needs to just move on from football. I think at this point he has more degrees than I do. I really think he should look at one of the Florida schools like UCF, or even Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Northwestern, Oregon State, TTU, Cincy, or maybe even Auburn, La Tech, La Lafayette, Texas State, Okie Lite# and even UTEP. His NFL dreams are beyond dead. He's shown hs doesn't want to compete with other QB's, and he's been to top many schools at this point in time. He would be lucky to sign an UDFA contract, but he wouldn't even be a clipboard holder in the league.
Casey is awesome. He’s smart fast and can sling it. If he was given all the first team snaps instead of Hudson Card 2 years ago he would have had better continuity with the WRs which would have made his #s better. Then playing behind a discombobulated o-line and Fn up his hand didn’t do him any favours. I have no idea what happened at the Nebraska stop but if his new O-line can get him some breathing room and he has more than 1 target to throw to he has lots of potential and he can win a bunch of games for you guys. Good luck
I really had a chance to get to know Casey at Texas. He is talented, but he’s kryptonite. It’s not the offensive lines he’s played under, it’s not the injury to his his throwing hand. He melts under pressure and throws interceptions at critical times of football games. I saw him do at Texas and the same thing at Nebraska. Auburn fans believe me you do not want Casey Thompson.
Between the constant clickbait thumbs, really stupid mispronunciations, and weird that edit mistakes that come across as repeat audio I am tired of the channel.
I feel bad for CT. He sort of got a bad deal at TX (should have started over Card IMO) and had some really bad luck (hand injury) and some really bad timing (Ewers). Nothing that was really his fault. Hope he finds somewhere he can showcase his talent because I think he's a good QB.
He was another Texas Longhorn savior QB. I just didn't see "savior". But, still thought he'd be a good QB. I would have loved to see him at Kansas State or a similar school. Any program that didn't need him to be "the one" and win a National Championship or Heisman or some such glory.
'21 TX d' was a sieve. CT? A victim of ill-fated timing. His dad was a great dual-threat qb (so so passer). If CT finishes at Aub., will close out a very unlucky, star-crossed career. - Pac fan familiar w/Big 12 cfb
I watched the Huskers a lot last year. I still don't get the hype with this guy. To me , he's like Josh Freeman Part II. You know the hype....but you keep waiting for something from this guy. He is mediocrity personified. A big "meh" I think maybe a transfer to a lower level school...Stephen F. Austin , on that level , would be best.
1. Daddy is WAAAAY too involved with junior’s career. Notice how it’s always “we”? 2. Wherever he ends up, he’ll be injured for part of the season. 3. I hope he’s managing his NIL money well. No way he’s going pro. 4. You nailed it at the end: serviceable space filler. Not terrible. Not great. Nice guy. I hope he does well. Hardly a savior in his 18th college season at age 37.
Transfer portal is a disaster for college football. He should have stayed at OU. Caleb would not have come to Norman. Riley would have developed him and taken him to USC.
Casey had a hurt hand but when healthy he lit it up for texas. Booster didn't want Casey to start at Texas he clearly was better than Card but politics ran him off from Texas
Whats next for Casey Thompson? Who should I cover next?
diliion gabriel
As a husker fan I hope he ends up at Auburn trust me can he can be a stud if he actually has an O line to do their job.

Well put together video. Great job!
QUACK QUACK. Thanks Scott, your vids are some of my favorites!
He really balled out during that Alamo bowl, and he was serviceable in 2021. Just got pushed out cuz of Quinn Ewers

Yes. I forgot: the thumb injury + a horrible d'. CT caught no breaks.

Casey it’s a great QB still sad the he left Nebraska but I wish him the best and will root for him whatever he goes

He'd going back to Herman.
good point, FIU
I think he should go to Florida just cus the qb situation is pretty bad right now
Them #Titans boys💙
Thompson is a dawg but Nebraska wants a QB who can run read option and triple option as well
I loved him here at nebraska - too bad the team was so *rappy - he'll be fine where he ends up

Sorry bro but frost was fired before he played there
Nebraska’s problems are much bigger than him….. they just can’t recruit those horses they used to be able to get!!!!
@Muddy Waters No doupt they screwed themselves leaving the big12
@@smokey689 Frost was fired like 3 games in while Casey was there because the program was a mess.
@Hunter But you cant really say he was bad under frost with just 3 games with him the whole team was bad

Welp we got Payton Thorne instead 😮.
