With joist I don’t think you can combine invoices. You’d have to make a new one. But I’m sure you could send two? Send me an email if you want to chat more. Karsten@theplumbinggurus.com
I generally will always include labor and materials in the price. And then just list detailed information on what we did. I don’t break down materials. Unless there’s big ticket items that they want to see a break down. If it’s just necessary pipe and fittings then I don’t break down materials no. Everyone is different though. You could break down labor and materials separately, I used to do it that way. But just stopped, either way is good. You can never go wrong with a full break down, will make you look good. Some people like to know the break down between the two, others don’t care. They just want the whole number.
@@ThePlumbingGurus thanks for the great video. Can you add a different markup to each line item that the customer does not see? I am thinking like a subcontactor on a line that I mark up 25% and a different line for my other materials that I mark up 50%, or something like that. Thanks, Dan
When taking credit card payments does it send a link to your customers email or can you take the payment on your device? I only ask because some older folks don't have email.
Hi. I am using Joist for 7 years. Now I am hiring another person to do quotes. Can I join him on my joist so we both are knowing what’s going on? Thanks
Hi there, we actually have a software we have created that quotes jobs for you essentially. It saves us hours each week. If it's something you're interested in. Let us know, email us at support@theplumbinggurus.com
QBO kinda sucks in my opinion. There is also no way to add the credit card service fee to the invoice. That's one big reason for me looking into Joist.
I appreciate your review. I have been using QuickBooks for the past 4 years and am going to fire them shortly. They keep changing the app and screwing it up.

Do you know if I can combine invoices? If I have 2 for the same company but want to bill for the total??

Great video. Is an E transfer direct payment from a checking account ?
Yes e transfer is a email bank transfer. So you can send money to people
@@ThePlumbingGurus Do you have a video on how to do this E Transfer ?
Do you have a video on how to do E transfer?
My biggest question with this is how do you handle someone paying you by check or cash if the credit card fee is already built into the invoice?
We usually keep it off until they ask to pay with CC. Then we tell them it’s a 3% charge and turn it on
When you do service jobs, do you charge your clients for material in the invoice or just for labor/hrs?

I’ve been shopping and trying other apps don’t understand how it’s been out over 7 years and just now seeing it
We love joist. It works great, very user friendly

You can send the invoice through text too. And I believe you can pay for it directly through that link too
@@ThePlumbingGurus thanks for the reply. I'll do some test invoices and see for sure.

Has your wife done the QuickBooks video? I am a wife needing that info. Lol
She has not, what questions do you have?
Credit card payments mean more chargebacks
Quickbooks also sends estimates & invoices why not just use quickbooks?
You’re very right. They’re also synced together. We started using joist years ago so we are just used to it.
