Thank You.This is the story that got me hooked on Robert Sheckley's delightful humor (including the twist in the title!)
He is one of the best Golden Age (and beyond) Sci-Fi humorists along with Fredric Brown (Martians, Go Home!)
amazing isn't it, these radio drama's from all those years ago are some of the best radio drama's i have ever heard, the twists & turns that you get taken on are a pleasure to listen to,
also CBS drama theatre is another set of short stories from years ago that are also well worth listening to
copy that ;)
These stories and dramas used to be like Primetime television is today. I always try to put myself in that perspective of families gathering around the radio on a Friday Saturday Sunday evening and listening to these programs. They had the top-of-the-line actors and top-of-the-line writers for the stories
Love the humour in this one, it. makes a pleasant change for sci fi.
the immortal piece on Artificial Intellect-Human-State relationship....I adore radio plays...the abscense of image turns some center in your brain on which is responsible for your imagination and thinking...
i absolutely looove this story - a favorite. 🙀
What fun.
This was funny. The national anthem cracked me up!
Brilliant stuff!
Just started. Can’t wait! 😁
Hey that's my countries national anthem ! Its called the bobble nik clunk 😊
Hilarious. The first time the national anthem plays I cracked up.
I took a knee during the Drone National Anthem.
The national anthem reminds me of a Frank Zappa piece
.
That was the theme tune to "Bleep and Booster" with some extra sound effects dubbed on top. They were sci fi cartoon characters featured on the BBC's Blue Peter in the 1960's.
that was a very funny story. they should make it in to a 30 min sci fi short
After reading the comments, I had to hear the national anthem. Didn't disappoint. 😅
Like Hal with humor
Only issue I hear is the volume
