Retro gaming refers to playing and collecting video games, consoles, and accessories from previous generations, typically from the 1970s to the early 2000s. This nostalgic hobby encompasses a wide range of systems, such as the Atari 2600, Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Sega Genesis, and original PlayStation. Enthusiasts appreciate the classic gameplay mechanics, pixelated graphics, and unique soundtracks that defined an era before modern advancements in gaming technology. Retro gaming not only celebrates the history and evolution of video games but also provides a means to preserve and experience the charm and challenge of older titles.
Sega is a renowned video game company that has produced a variety of consoles over the years. One of its most popular consoles is the Sega Genesis, known as the Mega Drive outside of North America. Released in the late 1980s, it was Sega's 16-bit console and competed with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The Genesis offered a strong lineup of games, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, and Golden Axe. It also had add-ons like the Sega CD and the Sega 32X, although they weren't as successful.
This is a new series!! Join me every so often and follow me on my videogame collecting journey. I take you live hunting at the thrift stores, flea markets, yard sales, garage sales, on Facebook Marketplace scores, etc. to add more games to the collection. This starts with one trip to the thrift store and grows from there. Watch to see where this leads and the AMAZING finds I score!!
This upcoming week will be AWESOME and I cant wait to share all of the footage from the Convention!

Crazy stuff, I really wanted to go but couldn’t make it this year. I love seeing the off items I wouldn’t probably pick up any, cause I like to focus more on games and I hoped you grabbed some deals while there with the vendors . I’m wondering if you are just wallpapering your house with store signs and stuff cause it can’t all fit in one room
Oh that’s a great idea for the signs! Haha. Definitely hoping I can take over another area so I can display it all! Definitely scored tons of deals on games too. That’ll be another video. Can’t wait til the next convention! It’ll be even better next year I’m sure!

I had that Giant Mario plush as a kid. Got it at a North Carolina Theme park called Santa Land in the 90s.

At the 0:20 mark in this video, I bought that Pikachu N64 that was complete in box... Crazy thing is the contents were still twist tied and in the plastic as it's never been used. Pokemon Box was another big pickup of mine there Saturday.

Somehow even though our panels were the same day I somehow missed seeing you this year. I hope your panel went great and hope to see you next year at SEGE. It looks like you also had an amazing time. This year I managed to find 1 vendor who sold Atari Home Computer carts this year and was able to pick up 2 new title variants for the collection ( which doesn't sound like much, but how rare it is to find people who sell these games in person it was a huge win.)

I didn't really know who you were, but thank you for the free sticker! It definitely was a really fun con this year. I found my beige whale: the 1701 monitor, my favorite crt of all time. Every other year after this one should just be gravy on top.

I had a blast! Was awesome to get a chance to say hello! I too thought this was an outstanding show - I found a LOT of items that I had been looking for for quite a while, including a boxed NES Arkanoid with the controller, a Sears TeleGames Superman (Sears' Atari 2600) and ScottSquatch helped me find NGage stuff I hunt for a friend of mine. Just the best. Will def be back next year!

If you wanna collect these old games every game you’ve done listed. I’ve got downloaded on my iPhone and I can play it anytime I want from an emulator and I didn’t waste a penny games from back then aren’t worth it collectors might think they are but I’m a hard Nintendo fan from back in the day but now I’m not gonna pay for crap. I’ll get the good games all the Mario parties all the first party titles. I’ll get them all day long
That’s great that you can play them on your phone! I’m just having fun and collecting/finding deals along the way. I still love hooking up the old TVs and playing on original consoles.

How many games did you own for the N64?
@@mariokart8715 growing up I only had a handful. My cousins had even more. Now I own all of the North American Exclusives and the Pal exclusives. I’m about 25 away for a full worldwide set. I need the last of the Japanese exclusives.

They are definitely up there in price. Hard to find those in great shape. It’s wild! There are Nintendo trash cans that go for more too!
@@GamerAhmer I paid like 30$ for my tmnt trash can a few years ago. I know the Nintendo trash can is up there... pretty sure I've seen those trophies in box for 150 and under... seems kinda steep. If my trash can is 300 now I'd do 250 haha just kidding nfs but I might have to look it up if it's that high now.... lol
@@videogamessource2473 that’s wild! Very lucky then. There are 3 different variants of the trash cans that I know of for turtles and this all green one I never see. and those trophies keep going up too. Wish I could find them cheaper myself. You got a steal! Very cool! Turtle power 🐢
