I'm from Musselburgh yet support Aberdeen. Not only Old Firm but if two clubs have been successful over several decades and/or get most media attention then most people will be atteacted to them. Luckily Scottish football is more than two Glasgow clubs but I fear it could be back to one should Rangers feck it up again..I'd much prefer balance though and see them stay in 'the best of the rest' league which is where most teams who operate shrewdly find themselves.
@@AlexJackson-z6j back to supporting Celtic or rangers. Most of these teams who have relatively small league support but can pull 10s of thousands for a good cup run can only muster those kind of numbers because there plastic fans. They will go to there local team only when it’s big moments. The rest of the year it’s either Celtic or rangers they support because that’s what glory hunters tend to do
Wasnt there on Saturday but always enjoy a trip to County. Its the relaxed atmosphere, walking to the game with County fans,no threats of trouble.County always a tough game too, quite remarkable how a team from a town the size of Dingwall(8000 pop) manage to cosistently compete at the top end of Scottish football.Hope you stay up,from a Dons fan
its not as remarkable as u might think considering their very rich owner, none the less im from haddington we have about 10 000 population and its unthinkable to me that a team from here could be in league 2 never mind spl and welcoming the old firm etc to the town
County are a great side and are run properly. Their neighbours down in Inverness could learn a lot from the way the club is structured and the work they do in the community. I've been to several games in Dingwall and it's always entertaining. It's worth checking out their corporate offering. Proper Highland hospitality. You feel like a guest rather than another punter getting funnelled through. Mon The Staggies! Long may they stay in the Prem. (Aberdeen fan perspective)
I'm an American, and have noticed that outside of Celtic and Rangers, the Premiership is actually pretty exciting. The parity of talent between the rest of the league is top tier. That Dundee/United opener looked mad. Anyways, thanks for the videos, you've turned me on to SPFL. C'mon Hibs!
Totally agree. Watch the Dunfermline celebrations on scoring at Falkirk if you wanna see ‘mad’! I love watching Annan and Queen of the South. Scotland really knows football- look at all the brilliant managers.
I’ve only ever been to about 5 football matches in my life (I’m 48), my friend took me to see this very match in the Ross County side. The atmosphere was just absolutely amazing, you feel so close to the pitch and the players being a smaller stadium. We ended up on the train back to Inverness which mostly had Aberdeen fans, there was absolutely no trouble whatsoever, was so friendly and just an absolutely amazing atmosphere. Inverness Railway Station was completely packed out with Aberdeen fans singing loudly, never seen anything like it.. just an incredible experience
I'm a Scottish-American who stumbled across County while on holiday almost 25 years ago, made some friends at the club, and have been treated like a king by them each time I've visited- I go over for 3-4 matches every other season. Every club gives you reasons to pull out your hair on a regular basis, and County are no different, but the people who work at the club- and the people of Dingwall- are as genuine and passionate as any you will ever meet. I should probably support an Old Firm club (or maybe Hamilton or Motherwell) as my Gram was from Bellshill, but her people came from Ballachulish, so it's a Highland club for me and forever! 'mon the Staggies!
I completed rhe 92 in England last year and am now working on the 42 in Scotland. I am up to 11 so far. My grand total is 150 grounds. May come up in October to see Partick and Dundee United.
I've watched Blackpool for over 50 years..I now travel to Annan to follow them as friends moved up there couple of years ago..love the atmosphere always made welcome round trip of around 250 miles..please if in the area go watch any smaller team..
Great video as always. Been waiting for this video for a while, as a Celtic fan I think it’s one of the most impressive stories in all of sports history. That a professional team can not just survive in such a tiny town as Dingwall, but work their way all the way up the pyramid and stay in the top tier for so long
You are correct. Back in the 70s Inverness Thistle almost qualified for the bottom Scottish League division. Those from the south were not pleased at this. They didn’t want Highland League teams. It was very regionalised.
Ross County is one of my favourite respective footballing clubs and they have been the best Highland based team for sure, good friends!!!I have been their massive supporter ever since I was a child despite they are struggling in the Premiership but I hope to see them doing well, good friends!!!LONG LIVE,ROSS COUNTY!!!🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️🏋️♂️

The Camping & Caravan site next to the ground is really good. Great walks along the waterside and just a few minutes walk to the town and the pub by the ground with decent food. We always stop there on our way north to Orkney or before going over to Ullapool to get the boat to Lewis. One day I will get lucky and catch a match while we are on our travels.
This reminds me of a jonathan meades 2009 documentary for the BBC called off-kilter. It wasn't football oriented but he did travel through multiple small Scottish towns using their football team names as useful references.
Fergies Aberdeen were the best team in Europe in 1983 and it looks as if those days are starting to come back! Sending Neil Warnock back down to his missus was a great decision!
What makes our support better than most is that everyone gets involved in the songs and not just the ultras. Young and old everyone wants to join in. Very good atmosphere and doing very well. Hearts and Hibs support is very tame to this btw. When things aren’t going well our fans will try pick them up whereas the other two will boo them that’s the difference. That’s also why they are both in our shadow.
I installed some telecoms kit at Victoria Park back in 2012 at the time when Ross County had just won the old First Division (now the SPFL Championship), and had the privilege of getting a mini tour of the stadium while I was there and the club were getting ready for the new season. It's great to see there is now a trophy cabinet and it's looking fairly full, at the time I was there there wasn't one and the First Division trophy was sitting in a cardboard box on top of a filing cabinet in the club office. (There was a fair bit of redevelopment work going on in the stadium at the time). They've always been a really well run club and a great part of the local community. They gave us a really hard game on Saturday and I hope they manage to stay up in the top flight as long as they can. Dingwall is the best away day in Scottish football and I'd definitely recommend it to fans of any club if you haven't already been up. Hopefully Aberdeen can keep the 100% record going for as long as possible too.
Thought I saw you cutting about the stadium on Saturday 😂. What a game was so exciting to watch. Great bounce back performance from county lots of positives to take from that, new signings were looking great. The VAR is just horrendous.
