    Crazy. Has never worked for me. Took it for years and felt bad, blood pressure, despite taking it with 3 other bp drugs, still very high. Stopped losartan and felt much better and no change in blood pressure in terms of going up. As a matter of fact, it has gotten slightly better.
    Crazy.

      I have been on losartan .25 mg. now for about 5 days. The first 2 days....I was so dizzy...when I woke up in the morning. So, my dr. told me to cut it in half....have right after dinner...verses before bed...the half..makes me less dizzy...feeling wears off...& my bp is coming down...we will see how this next week progresses....because getting my bp under control is #1 priority...I am 67yrs. & 175lbs. and look like I'm 50yrs. Don't smoke or drink...and walk everyday*

      Everyone's bodily system is different because of our various gene makeups. I'm 80 and been on it for several years now with NO known side effects and great BP. Have your DR suggest other alternatives to try. Sometimes it is all trial and error to reach the right balance. Good luck.

    Thank you for this information! I was on Metoprolol, but it lowered by heart rate to the low 40's, but never lowered my BP. Then cardiologist put me on Lisinipril. It lowered my BP, but developed a bad cough was bad that was frequent, and very spasmodic, 24/7, even with taking Robitussin or Mucinex. Now they have started me on Losartan 25mg. Hoping this works!!

      Metropolol knocked my heart rate down to 35 beats a minute. Three months later a cardiologist put me on lisinopril; the heart rate went back to a more normal mid 60s. Between the two of them, it caused ED. Planning to ask my doc about losartan, it may help bring back happy hour.

    Having a heart condition I have been taking 150 mg of Losatan and 200 mg of metoprolol as well as50 mg of Spirix ( tradename Spiron) and 20 mg of Furosemid for almost 8 years I can tell that side effects can be better just by switching brand, not the actual medicatin it self. Just the coating of pills can make a difference and of course what is being used as " filler " to make the pills. never had high blood pressure. I really do not take medication well, gives me a lot of bad side effects but I manage to find a spot where medication helps and I still have a life worth living. You made a very good video about this Doc. Thanks.

      The choice of BP medication is determined by your comorbidities.BP should be a combination of lifestyle changes and medications, once that is well maintained you can discuss with your Doctor if a dose reduction can be trialed.

      This is just superb, I have been researching "lowering blood pressure quickly" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Handadison Pressure Amalgamation - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my buddy got cool results with it.

    • @ThinkYourHealth
      @ThinkYourHealth  3 года назад +1

      Yes, you can.The combination of drugs would also depend on your target blood pressure goal ( which is age dependent) and your comorbidities.

    The only side effect I have had from Losartan was when I first started taking the drug. After about half and hour, it felt like my heart shifted gears (the only way I can describe it) and then it would feel normal again. After a few weeks, that quit happening. My wife was put on Losartan and it happened to her too. It freaked her out and our Dr put her on something different.

      Both work similarly and would depend on your co-morbidities as well as how you can tolerate the drug.If you are able to tolerate the drug with the benefit of lower blood pressure then stick to the drug.The MOST important you can do are lifestyle changes which in the long run play a more important role in helping improve your blood pressure.
