Thanks for coming to visit me Bob, it was a great laugh spending the morning with you at my research van, your always welcome, maybe even time it next time for when the pub is open. Oh, by the way Bob, not sure I mentioned this when you visited but I have my own channel filled with choice moments from my 32 year long search for Nessie, just search for my name and you will find it, that will be the first place I post it when I get that long overdue video proof of Nessie. All the best mate.
Well done, Steve! I have massive respect for someone who follows their dream, however odd it may appear to the majority of us. I guess he's become a bit of a Loch Ness attraction in his own right - I'm so glad he makes enough from his little models to sustain the lifestyle he loves❣👏
Does it matter whether or not there is something in Loch Ness? No it doesn't. What matters, to me at least, is here is a man following his passion, doing what he wants and loves to do. It doesn't get better than that in my opinion.
He’s in literally every documentary about Loch Ness in the last 10 years cos there is FUCKALL there except selling tat to tourists so may aswell pick the cool guy 😂
I highly recommend Steve's interview on the We can be Weirdos podcast. Really interesting life and perspective. He reckons if anything it's a very large Well's Catfish.
Boys, more than ever, I need you. I need another series to take me away and give me some chuckles. My body’s broken, my spirit’s broken and, as I’m coming to accept, I’m slowly fading away. Never stop doing what you do. Laughter is the only medicine that truly helps. ❤️
I drove around Loch Ness 2 months ago on my first trip to Scotland. I have to say, there are worse places a person could spend 30 years chasing shadows. If I'm honest I think his search is futile, but his life is something to envy. Fair fucks to him.
Yeah, so much so I find it a bit of a shame for him that it's a myth but I suppose that means there's no chance of someone else coming along and finding it and he can keep living the dream.
Hanging around there together looking at that horizon until opening time... there’s worse in life. Hope you had a fabulous evening & the desired proof is a little more forthcoming from now on Steve.
I reckon it WAS a transit van. I saw one in my street this morning on the way to the newsagents, and when I came back, it was GONE! Exactly the same! Spooky.
I also had a fascinating ideology of Nessie from a young age as well as some sort of solitude and relative isolation. It is incredible that this gentleman has done it rather than chasing a modern financial and materialistic life. Something is down there. Keep going Sir. I wish you the best.
Respect to you, Steve. Have to say though, the existence of Nessie is probably better off being doubted. Being magnificent and beautiful never did a thing to keep a whale safe.
There’s a wistful resignation that this guy realises that he’s sacrificed his progeny chasing shadows. But, to make everything better there’s always the pub!
@@jeremymerrifield7244 That really depends on your viewpoint and what you consider “life” is. Personally, sitting by a loch staring at the water for 30 years and making dolls to scratch a living isn’t my idea of a productive life. Each to their own though. He seems very happy which is the main thing and, as I mentioned, there’s always the pub.
How many people go through life and get to a certain age moaning they wish they had done this or that when they were younger? Very few people act on those dreams so I take my hat off to this guy. He leads a simple life but the most important thing is he's happy with zero stress. Chasing the Loch Ness monster doesn't really matter but if he finds evidence its a bonus.
Shout out to those who remember watching Steves BBC2 Video diary 30+ years ago. Still remember it to this day and how it made me laugh and feel glad to see someone following their dream. And thank you RUclips ruclips.net/video/NMEOPs24iKQ/видео.html
I think a of of anglers like myself that fish wild out of the way waters are similar to Steve, we simply want to spend as much time as possible in close proximity to water and beautiful wild places whilst using the excuse that we are fishing. We arent really bothered with the reality of catching big fish we are more immersed in the experience.
Bull grey seals hunt shoals of salmon that run up the Ness, a short river . The salmon when they enter the loch then shoal at the bottom of smaller but deep rivers and wait for spate when they run the likes of the Rv Morrison and Rv Oich then on and up to the Rv Garry t to spawn , the Ness has a population of returning salmon which spawn in the Ness itself , very attractive for seals of which i have watched many, porpoise across the loch in small hunting groups, three of four seals porpoising up the loch heading for the areas they know well, will have the holding salmon. The greys can travel fast , reach up to 2.3+ meters in length weigh several hundred kilos and can dive to depths if they want of 400m , Loch Ness is max 227m there are also very large eels in Loch Ness courtesy of by feed from the salmon cages which for a seal going deep make a tasty meal. of course those groups of seals might just be the right size to feed a monster deep in the depths.
Hmmm, he didn’t want to look back on a what he feared would be an empty life, of a career and raising a family. So he lives in a caravan at the loch-side, gazing at the empty water surface, with an occasional trip to the pub. Is that living the dream, ironically?
for any species to continue a full life span of any individual member there has to be at least one breeding pair. As the LNM story was in circulation before the Roman occupation so either there has to be 2 (male and female) or one that is over 2000 yrs old. If no one has seen two then it can’t be a pair. So just one very very old monster…or, and here’s an outrageous suggestion..perhaps it is a myth.

If you haven't heard it already, listen to Athletico Mince. It's Bob and his mate Andy and it is brilliant. Highly recommended!
@@kumquatmagoo Thank you. 🙏
I’ll certainly give that a go. 👍
Happy Birthday, Bob🎉

Steve is a genuine nice person.
Massive Nessie search this weekend, going to be a busy couple of days.
What a nice guy , usually the opt out guys are a bit weird, in the first minute you think ‘’ oh aye..’’

Bob really got to the heart of the matter, the courage to escape the mundane. It's a beautiful spot to enjoy nature.

Hiked and Packrafted up there a few years ago. Stunningly beautiful.

If you want a cushy job where you would NEVER be expected to show evidence of your research, this is it!
I think there's a few in Goverment departments that do it better, you don't even have to make little plastic monsters

If you end up getting the ‘job’ you wanted when you were 7 years old, it’s definitely time to re-evaluate your life.
Or the ideal job 🤔
No.1 comment 😊
sad guy, somethihg else is going on
Selfish man running away from life, greatest joy is to raise children and selflessly give them all
Better to not raise any children at all than not want them and raise them badly.
Oh do shut up
