Remember AOL video on Twc on demand? Only way to watch music videos in high quality back in the day. That, and the local radio station to me (CD101) would play this all the time.
Noodle and her giant head: *just vibing* 2D: *on the floor, trying to listen* Russel: *shitting* Murdoc: *having a dream he was dating the giant head guy*
A while ago I saw a meme that said “top ten character that could defeat thanos with the gauntlet” and noodle was on the list. I thought that was funny... but now it makes sense
For me, it's the sheer uninhibited joy you feel, and which you see expressed, innocently, in a pure, totally positive fashion in the video and which you hear in the music even without the video. It honestly brings tears to my eyes, because this is not a feeling adults feel, or ever express, this is something only idiots in the clinical sense of the word, women and children ever express, and when you see it, from anyone, it is totally and undeniably infectious, it just fills your soul, and it takes you like a drug, but without any chance of a negative feeling or consequence. This is art, the expression of something so wholesome and pure and good. It's a puppy at play. It's a cute kitten cuddling with it's mother. It's children running around in a packed house of family. This is what life should be and could be if we just let it. You're right, there's no one word, not adequate, for this. But I love it. This is worth any cost, any sacrifice, to have in your life, not this song, but what it makes you feel, what it represents. Here or there, it makes me not care that I'm "crazy" and "need help" because I can feel and appreciate this, and love it, and other people are literally incapable of reaching the heights of feeling or insight at times I can being how I am. I really needed this song today. I know me though. For every high, there is a low, and I have to be VERY careful, being this high, knowing the fall is coming. Still, in my experience, the peaks are worth the valleys when most people never see the mountain top.
feel good inc. is 2D talking about the problems in the world, DARE is noodle telling 2D that if he's gonna complain about the world, then he needs to something about it instead of just whine and sing about it. the song was originally called "it's there" but ryder's thicc accent made it sound like "dare" so they just changed the name of the song. the reason 2D is listening through the floor is because noodle didn't tell anyone she was even making the song. Don't ask why noodle has a big head in her room, cause there is no answer other than "why not"
Gorillaz songs distracted me from problems when I was a kid. Listening to this song now was essential for me not to lose myself again. It brings me a little comfort not to give up.
That can't be right! I'm a dictionary of mental health issues and I love this song!! If you can't jive to this song there's something up with your speakers or your ears!
As a kid I had horrible trouble sleeping, and I would just watch Gorillaz music videos for hours. This one in particular I would just watch on loop. Gorillaz was literally my childhood.

Explooosioonnnnnn
the fact they mixed irl, 3d, and 2d animation so well (and better than most movies now-a-days) is super underrated
This video is totally just about a teen having fun vibing in her room right? i love that. simple and relatable.
Edit: meant video not song.
it's about drugs, but noodle sells that vibe.
@Eduardo Mendez Wait you don't?
@@saltypotatochip4707 oops. I meant to say video. Not song. Still I am kinda stating the obvious. But

1: Noodle's dance moves are awesome.
2: Noodle's voice is awesome.
I assume you mean -this- noodle, as the voice for "her" has been done by at least 3 different people.
Shaun G yeah i ment that XD anyway, shes cute
It's a cartoon...but whatever floats your boat.

Wwtf
A Cunning person Yo, wtaf-
every time I hear it I still think it's a great song.
15 years later and we still don’t know why noodle had a giant severed head in her closet
Nor why was Murdoc dreaming about sleeping with a guy who's dreaming about being a giant head in Noodle's room.
It never did no harm
Its just...dare
I mean.... How else do you collaborate with someone?
Maybe he controls the zombie horde that are trying to get inside Kong Studios just to get free
So this song took place in Noodle's room in Shaun Ryder's dream in Murdoc's dream?
excellent.
That guy is Shaun Ryder, he's the lead singer of the Happy Mondays

You should make a tiktok video and show us how it's done in real Life I think it would be bad ASF
Knowing it's supposed to be "there" pronounced with a heavy accent (hence "dare") makes this song so much better lmao
This song is just hard to explain how good it is but in one word, enchanting.
It's not enchanting, it's dare.
@@travisbickle1951thanks for your reply. Was looking for someone to explain this at such a depth.
Thank you
That would make it the Puerto Rico of songs, and Gorillaz deserve better.

Fun Fact: This song was originally called "It's There", but due to Ryder's strong accent making it sound like "It's Dare", they just went with it.
Now I hear both somehow at the same thanks...
that makes alot a sense actually lyric wise
Actually it's "der"
I always heard it as, "each day"
i thought he said “bitch bad”
feel good inc. is 2D talking about the problems in the world, DARE is noodle telling 2D that if he's gonna complain about the world, then he needs to something about it instead of just whine and sing about it. the song was originally called "it's there" but ryder's thicc accent made it sound like "dare" so they just changed the name of the song. the reason 2D is listening through the floor is because noodle didn't tell anyone she was even making the song. Don't ask why noodle has a big head in her room, cause there is no answer other than "why not"
it's not the song she didn't tell them about, it's the video
