As a past musician and now a 2D artist, I've never put too much energy into the hype around an artist's personal life struggles because I like to take the artist's work as it is. With that, I didn't know why there was a controversy with the JT collab. I don't follow Brittney or JT news. I guess ignorance is bliss. I have liked some of their music; they are both talented people.
As for the JK/JT collab, I really liked it vs the Harlow collab. So, maybe with this collab choice, just maybe, JK liked JT's music and JT's vocal style; maybe it was just that simple. The collaboration works, and I enjoy the song. ...and maybe, it's that simple.

I agree wholeheartedly with how important it is to research an issue thoroughly before forming an opinion. However as a teacher I struggle to get my students to understand what a reliable source for research is: they find it hard to separate grounded opinion from baseless opinion, and often put scientific research, journalistic accounts and social media influencers at the same level - when they even think about looking at scientific papers. It is also a long process that requires some reading and understanding, a process some of them are not willing, and sometimes able, to go through. And these are university students, not younger teens, so it is no wonder sensational stories appeal to so many. I'm glad BTS have always been very thoughtful about researching facts and opinions (eg Namjoon and the feminist issue), and cautious as to their own impact and how they promote the causes that are dear to them. They're a great example.

I think it’s so important that we take a breath and don’t have knee jerk reactions to every issue that arises. That’s not easy when social media lives and dies on “hot takes”. Not every issue is worth a response and it would help if we didn’t constantly fuel an outrage economy.

We all know how Scooter Braun works and it's pretty crappy. We know what he did to T. Swift. He is the last person I want near any of the BTS members. He does not have a great reputation when it comes to his artists and the last people I want him near is BTS. Saying that, the members are grown men and can stand up for themselves. Do I want any of them working with Scooter? No but it's also not my career. We can have our thoughts but in the end the members are strong enough to look after themselves and, most of all, I trust them. 💜

There is so much anger, impatience, judgment and intolerance exchanged on social media. You are right. We have to be aware of all the noise that surrounds us, and take time to educate ourselves. Most importantly, we need to explore and understand what our true values and principles are, and live by our convictions and conscience. Nice discussion. Personally I’m not worried about JK’s collabs. I think he literally took one for the team (BTS) by being willing to do a bunch of western collabs in English, because he was the one whose musical interests and abilities suited it. RM, Suga, J-Hope, and Jimin were all vocal about not wanting the band to be pushed in that direction during the Butter and PTD era - you see that reflected in their solo work. (Tae’s, too, though he wasn’t as vocal with complaints.) Jungkook doing this work in the solo era placated Scooter and his ilk, while also letting JK work on his vocal, English, and dance skills. It’s a good compromise for BTS and a good learning experience for Jungkook and the BigHit management. I’m not a Justin Timberlake fan and never will be, but I liked his 3D remix a lot better than the original. It’s a nice pop song, but not worth getting worked up about one way or the other. It’s good that you’re reminding everyone to calm down and think, because-based on lyrics and live streams in the solo era- I think BTS as a whole is going to make some bold social statements after they come back from the military. Those will unavoidably be politicized, at least in S. Korea, because the social issue I think they will talk about intersects directly with policy there. So we should all practice being calm and thoughtful now. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I suspect JK genuinely wanted to stretch this way, but now that you mention it I'm sure part of it was strategic to fulfill whatever agreements they had with Scooter etc. It must be difficult for the boys not being able to share the business side of things with their fans - I feel like JK in particular isn't super interested in that lol.

I am not sure we are thinking about the same "bold social statements", but if it relates to a cause they have been cautiously though openly supporting for years now, I am really looking forward to them tackling it more boldly. There will be political ramifications, most certainly, but the consequences on their popularity among some layers of their fanbase could be so strong that I wonder how they will approach it. Cleverly and thoughtfully, I do not doubt, as with everything they do. They will have my wholehearted support if they have that courage.

It is a wonderful time in life when someone or some event comes along and blows the structure of my beliefs and decisions out the window. That's when I become allive. I begin to listen, to deeply feel, and to integrate who I am and what I honor into the activities and the words that I use to speak my life. Timing for this remix release was just baaaaad. A big part of why BTS became such a big success was bcz of the respect ARMY has for them as people with their positive messages through their music. BTS has never gone after the bad boy image. This was why not many supported Jack Harlow on 3D and Scooter Braun. Majority of ARMYs are females. To have Justin Timberlake involved with Jungkook’s song rubs so many wrong. JT has not addressed what came out in Britney’s book which voiced JT as someone who stepped on women to achieve his success and wealth. Perhaps BH/ HYBE is not looped in on American scandals but they have handled their own scandals to keep their artist untainted. Taylor Swift is having a huge ride on her popularity now here in the US and globally as well so her giant fan base is against anything Scooter is involved with. I don’t think this is politics. Even his own artists have all abandoned Ithaca Holdings including his prize artist, Ariana Grande. HYBE should pay better attention to who and when to allow their artists to work with if they want to maintain a clean image for their artists bcz it confuses us and we speak with our consumption power as fans.

This is what happens when people know bits and pieces about things and virtue signal. I’m woman. I don’t judge people based off of these kinds of reports because we never really know the truth. Same with Britney. God bless her. I love her, but we all know she has had breakdowns, mental problems, and etc. I just think it is wrong to judge others unless you are a person who can’t be judged for anything because you are perfect. It’s hypothetical. I am not perfect, so it is not my place to judge. (Unless it is 100 factual and criminal like Hitler).

Same kinda thing we see with shippers, just directed at the company.
But what's really getting to me is, Jungkook said he wanted- chose- to do this. That should be the end of it. But so many folk default to the, 'No, he's just SAYING that, it's not TRUE.' Way to show total disrespect, people!

I say just enjoy the art for what it is. BTS together and as solo artists makes great music - enjoy! Before social media, people didn't often know all the personal stories about the artists they listen to in any detail. When I first started following BTS, I was amazed by how much access was granted into their lives outside of music through all the social media content. I enjoy watching them and learning everything about their personalities, etc., but it's much more than I would be willing to let people see and more than what many artists would want seen. I don't think this should be the norm. Does the fact that you don't have a sqeaky clean reputation mean you can't make good art? I don't need to know all the backstory on an artist to enjoy what they produce. I am just here for the music and try not to be influenced, positively, or negatively by what artists do beyond that.

Going to the military means that Scooter Brown will look for other people to exploit. Bang PD should have been more careful instead to throw JK into his hands. I know that JK said that he chose to do it, but working with sharks is always dangerous. I can also imagine how much the pressure was on JK, since they started speculating to squeeze him as solo artist while the others were on military. I was so afraid he would give in, since they fed on his ambition to be the biggest artist. Glad to see once again that the bond among the members is stronger than ever. It kept JK sane, regardless of the tempting promises. What makes BTS is them together, it's the best message they give us ARMY. So what, he didn't want to be a father that's a personal choice. They both had a responsibility not to get pregnant if an accident happens then that's her decision what she's going to do about it. I personally don't agree with abortion as a means of contraception but I'm never going to treat someone badly if they choose to do that. She could have chosen to carry on with the pregancy with or without his say so even if he didn't want to be a father. Did he forcefully take her to have an abortion while she was kicking and screaming No?
As to his politic's I've not heard what he's said or why he came to whatever conclusion he came to.
If I hear an artist saying something that's downgrading another person being a right arsehole then I'm not going to be interested in supporting that arts by buying, streaming their music or buy a ticket to go to their concerts.

Perhaps, we're talking about a different aspect of political commentary. i totally agree with you about the social media maelstrom; personally, i don't pay attention to it, even while i realize that i miss much of the "spitfire" that it contains. i just know who BTS is and what they stand for and the rest is just insanity. Jung Kook, as the youngest, is letting go of this fierce moment of his artistic career to serve with his "brothers" in the military. that is a personal sacrifice. for Army. for his members, his band. They are unique. it's why we love them.

That would have been epic to have Michael's little sister singing along with JK who is influenced by her big brother...
    EPIC...not Usher.

Haven't watched this yet. Last one on BTS chapter 2 solo promo was way off the mark for me. Was disappointed with the analysis. Boracity Magazine was the same. I liked both the channels but strangely both of them have the same analysis on chapter 2 solo promos which I disagree with.
Anyway after reading comments here I thought most did not touch upon why twitter Army kinda boycotted this remix. Justin Timberlake has been trying to make a comeback for a while but because of his behaviour with Britney and Janet Jackson he's not well received. Plus the signing of Israel letter for Scooter Braun. There are many Palestinian Army who are suffering and it was insensitive to do this remix.
Its PD Bang who made this very unwise decision (to the detriment of BTS reputation too) to bring in Scooter and hand over Jungkook to him to make him a mega pop star very quickly. Jungkook also wanted to be one according to his words. He is competitive and Jimin's #1 in BB hot 100 spurred him off his house to finally get moving. Timeline of events shows this. He has been copying Jimin album concept photo styles too which is fine cute brother thing to do but this is someone's hard work. He should have thought of doing his own for Army too like raplines and Jimin did.
Anyway I think Scooter x Jungkook project as its known didn't succeed outrageously as they had hoped and so change of plan was swift. Jungkook is now enlisting simultaneously with others (2025 BTS comeback was uncertain before according to PD Bang interview and I think was deiendent on JK project outcome. Jimin and RM were pushing for 2025 right from the start but at some point RM said it wasn't certain it was happening like PD Bang said.).
Re JK x Scooter Project I think it was more a loss than a gain. Spotify success is because Scooter has a share in it. Whatever success JK project got is paid for sadly. Plus JK's #1 BB Hot 100 didnt shift the Hybe shares as Jimin's did (and he had just basic investment for his solo debut). Imagine if JK project had same playing field as hyung line and Jimin (V got some playlisting because he worked with Adore) ie zero radio and some playlisting with min promo like shows interviews what would have been JK's success? J Hope got Lollapalooza on his own. If JK had released songs before Hobi he'd have no chance to do MAMA and Rocking Eve NY show because JK would get them instead because he's the project. I don't believe other members would have refused some promo that JK got. They probably thought they couldn't ask for such promo and were too humbie or reticent to ask. Like Jimin 3rd mv request was told its too much to ask. J Hope was offered qr code instead of CD probably thinking he'd be happy to experiment on eco idea rather than trying out with other Hybe artists. Also the members most probably don't know their albums didn't reach fans on time and so were not counted towards their sales charts. Don't understand why Hybe do this when all Hybe artists incl BTS albums get delivered on time.
Due to lack of much US JK fans there was difficulty in sales for his songs so lots of remixes and versions were released to increase the sales. Bang n Scooter miscalculated JK's popularity in the US. They probably thought BTS English songs fame (with JK English singing proficiency) and big JK Weverse live audiences translated into lots of buying fans.
All I am saying is these remixes incl with Usher is just bringing in unnecessary baggage for JK as BTS member. The project needs to make good with this investment and hence these remixes and Jungkook brand merch (probably for 2025 JK concert or success miscalculated investment) while he is away in the military. He will gain some fans out of these remixes like he did with Harlow.
I am glad rest of BTS members did not resort to so much remixes and versions and bundles too. Bang PD destroying BTS reputation for what? Hybe just didn't realise stupidly that all members have huge potential as solo artists to succeed and earn. They thought only JK had the potential which is more than foolish to think especially for PD Bang who know them well?

And some people are always blaming BigHit/HYBE and BangPD for doing the wrong moves. BangPD knows what he is doing and how to protect BTS like they a family. Even giving each member of BTS shares of the company which I believe no other music company has done. You seem to forget that he created and developed BTS for what they are now and he really treated each and everyone in BTS like no other. Even some of you didn't really admire BTS as a group and individual artists before. You were not fans before. BangPD gave them freedom to do what the guys wanted to do with his guidance on the side. BigHit gave them freedom unlike other KPop companies. Now Jkook is a grown up man am sure he can say no if he thinks it will be a disadvantage to him. Jkook is an artist first so he will do what he thinks is right for him to grow. Why do you think he chooses to enlist in the military now when he is making a big name on his own. It certainly shows he can decide for himself. He has his own future plans and no "fans" can stop him. He has enough money now that I believe he is doing things now for his art or craft. He certainly knows which road to take. What you all know about HYBE BangPD BTS and JK in particular is what social media is feeding you only. I don't think any of us really knows the inside happening in the music industry or HYBE and BTS.. Just like before WHEN Jkook was doing nothing but be online talking and drinking when the rest of BTS are busy doing their solo projects. And the fans are complaining that HYBE and BangPD is not doing anything for JK. And then suddenly Jkook was very busy being the global ambassador for Calvin Klein and then him releasing Seven etc and everybody was surprised. And now again fans are complaining that he is doing it wrong. Damn if you don't damn if you will.

I wish we could go back to the days when we didn't know about our favorite artists personal life . We was just happy listening to their music. I grew up in the 60's when major artists in all forms of entertainment stood up and marched for civil rights. I'm sure not all were ok with it, but we didn't have social media, which makes a big difference. I guess what I'm trying to say is ..... Focus on the art and let the rest take care of itself. If you dig deep enough you will find some kind of dirt on everyone, especially in the entertainment business.
As far as the BTS collabs go I often wondered why the major US artist aren't collaborating with BTS. And then I saw an interview where one of the rap stars was talking about to get JZ on a feature cost 1 million dollars 😮. And then I saw Pharrell in an interview taking to RM where he talked about how excited he was to meet them backstage for the first time .RM commented something like he couldn't tell because in the picture they took Pharrell looked bored. Pharrell said inside he was fanboying big time. I think some not all are a little intimidated by BTS musical abilities and don't want to be compared to them or seen as clout chasers. There's a lot of BIG egos in entertainment. Just something to think about the next time BTS does a collab.

We have to count the fact that JT and Usher' collaboration are in royal level collaboration dream and that's a fact. Besides anybody can see HIVE presenting there PR counterpart by doing almost nothing of publicity knowing again how remarkable is a collaboration with JT because of his musical background, and you can see how they opted to use the same publicity technique with Usher to avoid criticism because favoritism.
Finally this kind of bad reception to collaborationS would limited more and more the possibility of collaboration of BTS with other artist, because they would catalog them as too problematic for PR.

You know, before you make videos like this, you need to do some digging into how HYBE actually works.
HYBE is two wings of one company. One half is HYBE America, with Scooter Braun and Lenzo Yoon as co-CEOs. They're responsible for everything HYBE does in the US: the Geffen artists, the QC artists, the recent Latin acquisition.
The other half is HYBE Korea. The CEO is Park Jiwon. He's responsible for what the groups in Korea do: Big Hit, Pledis, Belift, KOZ Entertainment, Source Entertainment, HYBE Japan.
The HYBE A CEOs have little influence over what HYBE K does. And HYBE K exerts very little influence over their music groups. They leave most of the group management to the various companies under their wing, and don't try to impose specific rules or directives in training or performing. That's because all these different sub-companies have their own structured way of doing things. HYBE is the parent company and does not interfere in the day to day, month to month, promo to promo schedules. This is particularly true in BTS's case. They are the superstars, they are stockholders; there's talk they may be on the board of directors themselves, after their service. The company bends over backwards to give them what they want, to the best of its ability.
Over in the US, Braun recently turned over management of Ariana and Justin to other people in the company in order to get more into the company's administrative side. (And Ariana complained about it; it was one of the reasons she decided to leave Geffen.) If he's not even managing the stars he used to, there's virtually no chance that he's trying to manage Jungkook, right under Park Jiwon's nose. And the fact that Jungkook is collab'ing with artists who are not under HYBE pretty much puts an end to that notion.
I mean, quite apart from the fact that he said, himself, that he *chose* to do this and people are deliberately ignoring his words and even indirectly calling him a liar. JK is very direct and honest, and if he said he wasn't planning on doing something but the company came and asked him to, we could believe that. Since he said he CHOSE to, we should show some respect and take his word for it.

Oh, I'm so sorry, I have to I disagree fundamentally. I guess my definition of politics is a bit different from yours. I think what we need is the contrary - stop being apathetic, recognize that everything we do and believe in is political, become proactive in at least some of the issues that concern you. Make your voice heard by every representative you voted for. We as democratic societies could benefit from accepting that politics is not some abstract, separate thing from our life, people are governed by other people, that they themselves empower. Democracy is very fragile unless it is propped up by a strong, well informed and proactive civil society. Obviously there's nuance, but the complexity of an issue should not prevent us from working on solving it. We need individually and as communities take more responsibility for our own governance - from the smallest local level of your district or town to the highest. I think separating politics from society will sooner create an even more fertile ground for corruption, abuse of power and eventual dictatorship and tyranny.
Obviously, this is w/r/t democracies, however imperfect they are, and tyranny needs to be dealt with differently, and the example you're bringing up is less of a social issue, it's a humanitarian effort. Which will also work so much better, efficiently and timely if there's a developed civil society with established networks that can connect your aid and the person in need of it with as few intermediaries as possible. If a person wants to donate food, medicine etc to children in need of it and not to one of the warehouses to be appropriated and resold somewhere, politics needs to be as close to the common men as possible. I feel like people as as often just morally and mentally weak, overburdened and desperate as they are corrupt and nefarious, so besides self-improvement we should all definitely work towards making it is hard as possible to abuse the power for any governmental post.
In short, every society should be ARMY - vigilant, self-organized and not letting anyone powerful get away with any form of discrimination or abuse. I hope I did not offend in my passionate rant, but I feel strongly about this.

The vulgarity, profanity, sexual objectification and debasement of women in the first three songs JK released was appalling. I read a few interviews where it was stated that Braun chose these to bring forward to JK. Yes, JK could have refused them but because his desire to be a global pop star is so strong, he probably thought it best to follow Braun's advice. Seven could have been okay without the profane version which totally changed the whole meaning of the song. Too Much is not much better. 3D is just appalling. Sorry... Long comment: I think JK and BTS do need to be more mindful. They should make the music they want but it still needs to be strategic to avoid tanking their positive reputation! They are adults but their fandom is diverse BECAUSE their discography is diverse and mostly positive! As a Black American, I've witnessed how collaborations can make or break you!! Chloe, Normani and other women collaborated with Chris Brown and it 100% hurt their trajectory. Many music producers are arrogant and often misogynistic... They thought the girls will help the his reputation but instead the girls looked silly singing with a known abuser with a temper. J. Timberlake is facing current controversy with Britney Spears and past misbehavior coming to light so of course Scooter wants to use JK to help Justin. I'm glad JK didn't promote the song and we shouldn't blindly support either... At risk of getting hate, even the Left/Right song dropped right at the end of pride month and Charlie Puth was playing into the LGBTQ market with that song FOR money. I'm still not sure if JK or the company knew what the final treatment would be since Korea is supposedly super conservative so I kept thinking would this song be taken well. Was this an intentional risk or was this a manipulation. I just think they need to take their time and make sure collaborations are MUTUALLY beneficial! My example for that... Beyoncé & Gaga's telephone was great for both of them and neither of them are problematic. I do prefer JT's version of 3D, but this was terribly timed!!

I am a conservative woman and OT7 but JK is under no obligation to do anything for Army. And it’s honestly funny to me how people are reacting to him when the rappers have some pretty graphic things and everyone is fine with the hip thrusting by all members for years and Jimin double grabbing and holding onto his crotch, but not JK singing about gratifying ONE woman he is in a long distance relationship with or living and eating to be with one woman he is in a relationship with in the other😮😮😮 song.. Im not judging Jk, the hip thrust or Jimin. I find it very hypocritical to harshly judge one and ignore the other. My gut says it is people who just live to judge others, who don’t like JK (I can’t imagine why) or who have other biases and are not happy with JK’s success. I refuse to jump on the hate, judge, post negative things about bandwagon. He is a young man who has proven his love for Army and Army should love him back. He has dedicated 1/2 of his life to Army. Army should give him Grace, not judgement.

Not sure what I was typing that got auto corrected to “living and eating”. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I know living was loving, but eating????I think I was saying “being with”
