It's an intimate conversation even with his Golden album where he didn't write the songs but he chose them, arranged them and presented them in a very unique way as demonstrated in his Golden concert. It wasn't a mega visual spectacle. It was an intimate moment, a conversation almost one on one between him and 12 million people, a serenade to leave us one long lasting experience to remember him and his 6 hyungs over the next 18 months. No glitz, just his voice, his eyes, his moves, and his smile without any distraction. That is an artist: he had all the tools at his fingertips but in the end all he needed was himself. Now that I know BE was suppoused to be their last album before military service I can not take of my mind "Stay" was writed and dedicated for his Jin hyung. And he is always asking him to stay with him, he put Jin in the center of "Life Goes On" MV, he dedicated "Saty" to Jin in the unboxing and he singed "Stay" with Jin and RM, another important figure for him. I know he loves all the members and ARMY but fo me "Stay" was for Jin in a methaphorical way but still asking Jin to be there for him even if they are worlds appart. I think that is incredible sweet of him.

I wouldn't say he's the best singer (I'm 55 and I had the pleasure to experience several really fabulous singers and there is NO best.) But he's definitely one of my favorites. His voice is unique and recognizable. And he's definitely one of the best songwriters out there. You said they are easy to sing like Beatles' songs. I disagree. I think they're more like Abba songs....they seem and sound easy, but they are really difficult to sing. Anyway, the last four members will leave for military service in Dezember. Jungkook wrote a very long letter to say goodbye. I hope that we will hear more songs of him in the future. Not just songs, he sings for others. And I hope he's got more to tell than his feelings for armys and the members. I hope to hear more about him like "My Time" which is still a masterpiece for me, musically as well as lyrically.

I'm new to your channel, and on your patreon, I gave you a thumbs up for this article, I guess when I first saw it. I am rewatching this, and I think I owe you some gratitude for writing such a beautiful article. You could probably tell I'm a JK bias and when I watch some of the RUclips reactors ( the genuine ones), I'm feel really good as they discover his talent which a lot of them says that they had never paid attention to until they'd seen his solo work. I'm glad you went in depth discovering him and his talent, which I think somehow are missed by a lot of people. Don't get me wrong, I support all 7. In fact , I have all their albums from when they started, even all versions of all BTS' albums. I'm a 70 year old army since 2019, when I stumble on them while looking for a K-drama to watch. I honestly pray that JK watches your videos. I think he needs to see them. I don’t feel he has confidence in his song writing skills and you always articulate so well his strengths. Army loves his songs. I hope he will continue to write in the future. I love his English songs and if that’s what he wants from now on, I will support and love it, but I selfishly hope he will weave some of his own writings from time to time. I think Hate You is the most interesting song from JK's debut solo album, but none of the tracks touch my soul or approach the lyrical and musical sophistication of the songs you mention such as Film Out, Your Eyes Tell, and Still With You. 💜
I think this is a good point. I think having limited time and struggling with the break initially while the others had their turn with the solo projects was a factor. JK said he wouldn't have done a solo album if songs were not presented to him that captured his attention. RM, Suga and J-Hope have been writing songs for years and had a body of work available. Jimin had a story to tell and worked with the experienced BTS team to bring that to life. I think all factors considered JK made a good decision to be able to share a fun solo project in the short time he had.
