- Humble Pie was an English rock band formed by Steve Marriott in Essex during 1969. They are known as one of the late 1960s' first supergroups and found success on both sides of the Atlantic with such songs as "Black Coffee", "30 Days in the Hole", "I Don't Need No Doctor" and "Natural Born Bugie". The original band line-up featured lead vocalist and guitarist Steve Marriott from Small Faces, vocalist and guitarist Peter Frampton from The Herd, former Spooky Tooth bassist Greg Ridley and a 17-year-old drummer, Jerry Shirley, from The Apostolic Intervention.
This is awesome ... Steve, Peter, Greg & Jerry, I can watch them over and over again. 💜
My God. Here it is September 2020, and I'm still watching/listening. Wish there were more videos of Humble Pie out there....
MEEE TOO
I have this anthology CD on its way from Amazon. So damn happy. 64, but dreaming about when I was 24 and watching all the guys watching me...
Dec 2022
This would wipe the floor with anything right now in may 2023, music and live entertainment has become disinfected corporate crap, what the hell has happened us?
Raw talent! Young Peter Frampton doing his thing!
One person put a thumb down, obviously doesn't know what a great song this IS 👍
Unmistakable Peter Frampton voice in the second verse. :)
April 2nd 2023. A trip down memory lane for this 'oldtimer'. Thank you.
Best Live Band in the early 70's, Proper Band, everyone getting a go.
Pretty sure the who held that title till about 1977, in my opinion of course, I have to say though these guys are cookin with gas, this is one of those that keeps appearing in my feed and I can never pass on it😊
Oh, at least the singing is live here !! There are also versions of that Video on RUclips with full playback...
Good beat... I remember "dont need doctor song" and 30 days in the hole. I don't think the radio played this song enough.
LOVE 30 days in the hole
I remember seeing this for the first time on MTV's Closet Classics and wondering, "Who the hell is that little guy? That dude can f'''''n sing!"
If i could turn back time
2:59 Jerry Shirley smiles as he rolls enjoying himself apparently. Why not? This song is awesome!
I think he smiled because he missed his cymbal. it sounds like the drums, along with most of the other instruments, were prerecorded. the voices are live
@@cart9645 that’s correct, instruments prerecorded and live vocals.
Greg gets a major kick out of that too, could barely sing he was Lol-ing so hard
Just kids
Like we were
LOVE THEM💋💋💋💋💋💋
Great sound.
This song MUST be played on my funeral!! Alongside with Here comes the sun and Tin Soldier!!
Moody Blues - Simple Game and Ride My See Saw at mine.
Thank goodness for those people in Germany who saved all this stuff from Beat Club. I am eternally grateful.
This band changed my life 4ever, HP rocks!
At 3.03 min great interaction between Greg and Jerry!
Peter Frampton as an exceptional teenage talent
It's a shame that the drummer makes such an emotionless impression.
Nice when he smiles though.
What could have been, if Frampton had stayed
Ich kannte nur die erste Besetzung, die für mich am besten war.... Peter & Steve waren damals PERFEKT I still love them RIP Steve Mariott Long live Peter Frampton 🤩💕
Has Greg got black nylon tapewound strings on his bass?
Imagine having 3 great blues singers in one band. The drummer looks stunned thinking he might be the forth.
Absolutely timeless!!
Inconfundible aquí la voz de Peter Frampton!!! Great all of them.
3 great singers here... Pretty good lip synching
They're getting pretty scarce in 2023.
Double lead guitar. You go Pea-tuh
A band with 3 vocalists!
I like the first version better - more gutsy - and that was the hit version.
Who's on piano? Anybody?
Authentic English rock at it’s zenith.
Wow
A good music. A terrible video shooting.
Yet not as terrible as the Goodbye video of Cream (I guess it's very hard surpassing that one) ...
it's BOOGIE. i've never heard of bugie
It is written as ‘Natural Born Bugie’ on the original 1969 Immediate single. That’s why.
