Thanks for the support. I put the seal back in. You don’t have to. Some people do, some people don’t. I am it them in. I personally think it would be better to use them. But like I said, there are definitely people that don’t. So you’ll probably be fine either way.
Other thing I learned with my recent axle swap is the limitations if you go 3/4 ton from a ‘00-‘04 Ford F250. In hindsight, if they weren’t free, I might’ve not gotten them. I found trusses no problem, but gears were hard to find. Not many companies make gears for those axles, and if they do, 4:88s are the lowest. Thankfully Yukon makes 5:13s that worked with minor modifications in the rear.
Yes! You are talking about the Dana 50. Funny thing is that some of those vehicles actually had a Dana 60. But they look almost identical. So it’s really hard to know what you are buying.
Good tip. This is why I chickened out and did a 14 bolt build out back but ordered a front 60 from dynatrac. Seemed like there was a lot more I could screw up on the front.
I totally get what your saying. However, if the truss kit works correctly the manufacturers of the kits are not wrong. Same as they have truss kits for sterling 10.5 but you have to do way more work. This is on the person doing the swap to do homework
Absolutely. and im not bashing the truss manufacturers at all. just putting tjis out tgere fir people. most look at what swap ,its are available and dont consider the gears too.

If gear sets aren't available you could change your gearing with a atlas or a doubler etc.

Dirt lifestyle did a video and the price for the dynatrac 60 is pretty close to the price of a super duty after all parts and labor.
Same thing goes for 14 bolts. Different years have different pinion bearing sizes.
