The dress code at my school is basically just no straps thinner than your finger and no super short shorts or pants that cover your shoes just so you don't trip or anything.
Carver Middle School had a rule: your shirt had to be tucked into your pants at all the time. If your shirt was untucked you were taken out to the hallway and stared down by a teacher, until you fixed it. And if your shirt came untucked in the back and you didn't know, you got chewed out by a teacher and sent to detention and the punishment was to clean the cafeteria during your lunch break. I just wore a baggie hoodie for the year I was there, then hopped on the train to my grandparents house the second summer started. And I NEVER went back!
A charter/prep/private school I went to also had a uniform We wore maroon or white polo shirts with khaki pants shorts or skirts Boys wore black socks and shoes, girls wore white If we wore a jacket it was either a pullover sweatshirt or a puffy jacket (Had to be sold by and for the school) that was either maroon or black Everything we wore always had the school's seal on it and we occasionally had "Free dress days" where we could wear normal clothes I hated that place
At my school, two boys were having a fight and had a big troop of people watching, there was a girl with a tiny skirt watching with everyone. The vice principal waked past the fight, went up to the girl, told her to go to the office and walked past the two boys. Flip dress codes.
Another thing I hate about my school dress code is that any day a student doesn't wear their uniform on a day we're supposed too the teachers just leave them alone. But the one day I wear a non-uniform outfit........The teacher goes "GO TO THE PRINCIPALS OFFICE NOW"
The Cottage School I went too (one day of school each week, 1000x more homework,) had uniforms, but they weren't really strict. Just easy rules (that they barely enforced) like: No open-toed shoes, Long pants can replace school's shorts unless jeans or casual pants, stuff like that.
i went to a couple of different elementary schools so there were a few variations with a set uniform. i always wore different sweaters and jackets until they had to match the uniform so i work a jacket with school colored music notes. in middle school i switched between a standard sweater, long-sleeves, and a black jacket with thumb holes. theres complete control over the clothes in my private high school other than accessories and shoes.

Umm this happens at my school u can't have wird or images on ur shirt but so many people ignored it that they just gave up but one of my friends since the beginning of the year followed this rule till this day 😅
i went to an all boys high school, and for the first three years the dress code was really simple. Any school-appropriate sweatshirt or outerwear, any presentable collared shirt (ie: polo, flannel, button down, etc), and any khaki color/style pants or shorts with a belt, and shaving of course, the only exception to the rules were themed dress days for spirit week, as well as mass days (it was a religious school) where everyone was required to at least wear semi-formal attire (belt, tie, dress shoes, etc.). It was really relaxed compared to similar schools in the area. Some people played fast and loose with the rules while others wore a suit to school every day. Then the school my senior year switched to requiring students to wear a uniform, and were only allowed to wear the school's logo wear. which got major backlash because of how expensive some of the clothing items were.
I’m quite happy with my dress code since I just wear jeans and oversized hoodies every single day. Sometimes I would wear a sweater, shorts, and tall socks to school but that’s on rare occasions. I wear hoodies and jeans so often that one person asked me if it was against my religion to show skin. I said I just like to be comfy, but I knew my lack of self-esteem and gender dysphoria has a big play in how I dress
My school dress code I feel like is just there to keep thing appropriate which I totally agree with because you must keep things appropriate. Like there was no specific color you had to wear any color just no blood, no crock tops, no pants that show skin above the finger tips and no nudity

One of the most ridiculous rules that my school had was banning the color red. I’m serious! The color red. Do you know how many shirts, shoes, heck even hair ties have the color red? On top of that, they weren’t very big on people wearing solid black shirts, or having something that had a bulldog on it. What the heck!?! The reigning State College in the place that I live has a bulldog as it’s a mascot! Kind of a slap in the face to those I wanna go to college. They also didn’t like us wearing graphic T-shirts. ...Funnily enough, the parents were in as much of an uproar over this as the students were. Still took the entire length of my high school career for them to get it switched over though.

I have mixed feelings about dress codes because I like not thinking about what to wear in the morning.Having a dress code helps me not compete with other students with their clothing, some students who were in my class are always showing off with their new fashion. On the other hand I also like to dress up if it was a special day in my life,or if I got a new necklace/bracelet from my mom, dad, or my grandma I would want to take it with me so they could be with me when they’re not there
my school uniforms werent that bad honestly. I liked wearing uniforms and didnt understand why everyone else hated it. cause like, I dont have to search through my closet for things to wear lmao
A history of my educational dress codes: Elementary school: khakis and a uniform polo shirt in four colors Middle school: still khakis only, collared shirts only (I don’t remember if patterns were allowed or not), no open-toed shoes Freshman year of high school: new school with zero dress code Rest of high school: new school, collared shirt, otherwise pretty chill Tldr; I was stuck in polo shirts for almost ten years
I've only had to wear uniforms in my middle school and high school days. And even during dress down days, there was a length limit. And I agree, the minion outfit is cute! ❤
No one really obeys the dress code at our school. The district was very laid back and every now and then I see people walk in with ridiculous clothing like my little pony pants or a ridiculous looking hat sometimes. Now we're not allowed to wear hats or pull our hoods over our heads during class but they won't obey the dress code. Kinda surprises me they obey no hoods or hats but not clothing.
We dont have a dress code like we have the uniform of the school but it has so many variation, the t-shirts have the big logo of the school in the middle but you can have them in any color that you want, there are hoodies, long sleves shirts, and underwear was dark dark blue with a tiny school logo in the bottom, skirts, shorts, pants and skirt shorts. You dye your hair in any way you want, any shoes you want.
Well in my school there was no dress code at all. I live in Iceland so it’s usually always cold and it would not be the best idea to wear a skirt without leggings. This had its pros and cons. Because in some schools you would get bullied if you didn’t have clothes that were in style (thankfully it wasn’t like that in my school) but it also gave us freedom to choose what to wear. We were also allowed to wear shirts that showed the bellybutton but nothing flashier then that
My school dress code is that we can only wear uniforms, and we wear our P.E clothes when theres P.E that day but if youre wearing P.E clothes on the day that doesnt have P.E in your class then YOU'RE DOOMED! Also we cant wear jackets or hoodies or other coats, not even tie them around our waist for heaven's sake! XD
I live in the UK so all of our schools have uniforms and at my current school, you get detention if you don’t have your blazer on in the morning in summer. At least ten people got detention. I almost got detention but I argued back saying that I was already dizzy and hot so if I wore it I would have had heatstroke. They didn’t listen. It wasn’t until I said I felt ill that they spared me detention.
My middle school dress code was no noodle straps and no clothes which exposed a lot of skin (such as short shorts/skirts and no tank tops/shirts which exposed your stomach or showed a lot of chest), well in 8th grade, there were girls who wore shirts with v necks that exposed there chest and bra, wore tank tops which had noodle straps and that exposed there chest and stomach. As well as short shorts, never once did they get in trouble. There was also a rule that you couldn't have a purse/backpack (even a mini one) or book bag with you, you were forced to keep them in the locker. Which meant when your a girl and already started having periods... Your pretty much screwed. We also had a specific day dedicated to not having to deal with classes (sort of) we did class for a few minutes (we usually do them for half an hour) before we were let go to go do some sort of activity (such as Dodge ball, going outside, drawing, reading, playing board games, etc). And we would end our school day with the activity but all the activities were downstairs and our lockers were upstairs. Teachers refuse to let us bring our stuff, which I never understood why. It just meant possibly missing the bus (luckily never happened to me) so sometimes me and other students would try and be sneaky and grab our stuff (sometimes got caught). But in 8th grade, at first they were only allowing book bags (I kept everything from all my classes in there as well as a few drawing books so it was very heavy and hurt my shoulder a lot), well apparently they didn't really care because some girls would walk have purses and not once did a teacher say anything. Well students then started bringing there backpacks (everywhere including the gym and lunchroom) once again teachers said nothing. Well since I hated dealing with my locker, and carrying a bookbag hurt my shoulder I just start taking a backpack (and my coat whenever It was winter/I was forced to take it). Teachers didn't care at all
At my school my friend got in trouble because her rings were “too big” the teacher said if is she accidentally punched someone in the face there would be a problem. But I’m just thinking how do you accidentally punch someone in the face?🤔
It might be the certain part of Alabama I live in, but were I live kindergarten through high school have to wear basically the same uniform, which is khakis and a collared shirt.
In my school they closed off the main walk through so all the sixth graders ran through the walk way before the teachers got there. They ended up Letting us walk there.
Dress codes don’t help students see each other as equals, it fuels them dig deeper to really find a person flaw and criticize it.
Honestly. SMART lol

A history of my educational dress codes:
Elementary school: khakis and a uniform polo shirt in four colors
Middle school: still khakis only, collared shirts only (I don’t remember if patterns were allowed or not), no open-toed shoes
Freshman year of high school: new school with zero dress code
Rest of high school: new school, collared shirt, otherwise pretty chill
Tldr; I was stuck in polo shirts for almost ten years
BANNED!

At my high school in England, we had a uniform. I *_really_* liked the blazer. Don't have a clue why.
I've only had to wear uniforms in my middle school and high school days. And even during dress down days, there was a length limit. And I agree, the minion outfit is cute! ❤
Yes I was waiting for this !!!!!
Now u can in high school put whatever u can like jeans all days
4:49 is that.... somethingelseYT????
Xxpotatoxx xx yes. Yes it is
I don’t think my school ever has a dress code...or I just don’t know about it lol
And I only went in first and second grade that was a very first time I broke the dress code and very only time it was a tank top roll
We were also allowed to wear shirts that showed the bellybutton but nothing flashier then that
at 6:49 when it shows the shirts its all the my little ponies on the shirts
I don't mind my school's dress codes because I can just slap on a jacket, pretend I was cold, then I'd be more confident.

My school makes us wear uniforms but thankfully I'll be going the next grade up so I'll be leaving the school soon :D

at my school the dress code is no spaghetti straps, no strapless things, only close toed shoes, etc.
My school didn't have a dress code like there would be girls with shorts and tank tops just walking around lmao
