I love the flowers BUT I ENJOY listening to YOU! Yes the music was calming but I can hear music anywhere. The reason I LOVE watching you is because You make it personal. Thank you for all the free pattern which I do take advantage of. Looking forward to your nest posting.
As I approach 67 yrs old, after 14 years of bead weaving, having taught myself via RUclips, I'm excited to incorporate bead embroidery and regular embroidery into my jewelry creations. This is the first of your videos that I've watched. I'm so glad I did, because it totally demystified for me how so many textures are created with just thread and a needle. I've saved the pdf for this video and nearly all of your other pdf's (not everything would be something I'll use.) I'm really anxious to get started on some projects. Before discovering you, your channel, etc., I ordered a few kits from Etsy and Amazon, as well as some tutorials from Etsy. I also have needles and fabric on order. I rec'd a lot of floss with the stand I just rec'd. (I don't live where I can jump in my car and go pick up anything that I need for this craft.) I'm going to start following you on Facebook. Your projects are all so beautiful and inspiring. Thank you so much for this terrific tutorial!
На любимой белой футболке после стирки возле ворота появилась маленькая дырочка. И я вышила по вашему видео букетик на месте этой дырочки. Отлично получилось. Спасибо за ваш мастеркласс.💖
Hello Sarah. Thank you for showing how some really beautiful flowers can be created using relatively few stitches. All of these stitches are achievable for those of us new to embroidery - and will, undoubtedly produce fantastic results. So, I also thank you for something that really encourages people to have a go, without feeling intimidated.
This was a wonderful video! It was great that you demonstrated 10 different flowers. I’m sure I’ll come back to refer to it in the future , as well. I hope you don’t mind my saying, that I prefer hearing your voice giving further instructions rather than listening to the music. Thanks you so much for the lovely demonstration. 😃❤️
Oh I missed seeing your lovely smile and hearing your voice through the video. It is a great "How to" video but I watch your videos for you, not just the stitching. I hope this is just a one off style trial and that next time we can see more of you again.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for this video. I recently decided to try to learn embroidery to mend and decorate some of my favorite clothes. I was struggling to get the different textures I was seeing on the pictures I was trying to copy. This video covered all the different ways to lay thread and get the finishes right! I very much appreciated having them all in one video so I could just skip to whichever section I needed at any given point! I just finished a pair of pants and a skirt and they look even better than I'd hoped for ❤️
I watch *a lot* of Korean ladies do embroidery and usually this is the kind of thing I’ll watch from them but it’s really nice to see this from you in recent times (I went down a rabbit hole and found myself watching a lot of your videos from 8 years ago)! Thank you 🥰
I love watching your videos! I started watching because you’re a brilliant teacher and my embroidery improves every time I implement some of your advice. But I sometimes just put on your videos to wind down in the evening because your voice is so pleasant. I hope you know how much light you put out into the world and I hope it comes back to you tenfold!
What a lovely selection of flowers!, the Tulip is just a perfect Tulip, and as for the Thistle, just amazing, I would never, ever have thought of doing that and it looks so perfect. Superb as ever Sarah, thank you
Your tutorials have been a great help to me as I try and learn different types of embroidery to be able to finish some works of my dear friend who passed away in January. She was RSN trained, and won many awards at the WI. She taught me some of the basics of cross stitch, blackwork and a little hardanger, but the uncompleted works are in crewel and stumpwork. Thank you for your wonderful videos, they are of great value. John
This took me back to my youth. Thank you. I have been wanting to do embroidery again and it was so much fun to watch you creating these lovely blooms. I made a small foray into a knitted item for my godsister and I told my husband to not laugh at me because it has been so very long and I am out of practice with scale etc. I am now 65. Thank you so much. Watching the Thistle being created is the most fun 😁 And yes, I enjoyed Ginger Cat too
Hello Sarah,Thank you, I'm following you from Emanuel County GA USA. The new format is lovely🪡. Nice music selection. You and Mr. Homfrey are very talented. P.S. after I watched it all I realized, I missed your voice. I don't have any real friends so to speak. I'm 70 and enjoy hearing a lady talk without all the severe language. You are a darling person.
These are so pretty and thank you for the free pattern. We gave our 12 year old granddaughter a sewing box full of good scissors and other sewing accessories 🎉and some beginner embroidery kits for Christmas last year, she loves to sew doll clothes on her little sewing machine and this year we are giving her something bigger and better for Christmas, I can’t wait!!! Anyway, she has been doing some stitching and I’m going to send her your RUclips channel info because you are so easy to follow and this video will be very easy for her to learn from. She lives in Florida and we are in northern Illinois so I’m not able to help her. I love to see your cat 😂just being a cat, I usually have at least one or two of our five on my lap when I’m sitting. Love your videos, I always learn something.
Oh, I love that your are fostering a love of stitching (of all sorts) in your granddaughter, even from such a distance. I do hope that she'll join us here, and perhaps share some of her work with us? It would be a joy to see her in next year's World Embroidery Day video. Nothing like sharing and receiving accolades on the work we've done to further our enthusiasm and afford motivation to keep on stitching, regardless of our age! 💖
I used to adore crafts as a teenager. Sewing, knitting, crochet, all of it. I am so grateful to my Nana for passing it down, from her to my Mother to myself. So I am very sure your granddaughter is so grateful to you. Anyway, from a grown up granddaughter to a grandmother, thank you and God bless you!
Thank you Sarah. Your video was very informative and encouraging. I've seen a few embroidery journals and wanted to give it a try but I had no idea of what to do and I'm also a complete novice. After watching this I thought I'd just do a flower a month and whether they're good or not, I'll view it as a learning curve. Thank you so much.
Hi Sarah! 👋 I was eye 👁 👀 following you stitch the sunflower 🌻 and just as you were about to stitch a detached chain stitch, in my head I was like; "nooo Sarah, it's a single stitch. Then you quickly realized it and switched back. 2 days later..... As I was stitching the same Sunflower 😂 in the back pocket of one of my jeans 👖, I kept doing the same thing. Lol 😆 🤣 😂 I started with straight stitches then forgot a few times and actually stitched the lazy daisy stitch (detached chain). After all I realized it's an eye/brain trick because the sunflower petals are triangular (I'm guessing). Anyway, just a true a tried story so you know you're not alone (even though you're light years ahead of me in embroidery) I love your tutorials! ❤ ❤ ❤
Love the way you started with a knot on the face anchored some stitches and then later cut that knot off. I will use that from now on I just love that method. Thank you so much. ❤❤
Thanks so much. I learned so much. I think you need three hand to do the thistle. The grape hyacinth is my favorite. It looked like it was doing a little jig while you couched the stem!
This is a great help with things i never knew. And i see you use more than one strand as well. I have seen some stunningly beautiful cross stitch using one strand, that my daughter-in-law creates. I always used three and i think what i needed to do was crewel work, with yarn to get the substantial and almost padded look look i wanted. I like how you buried the yarn in back of the work, i never learned to do that. Loved the flowers, every one. Live and learn. It was a lovely lesson that made may gardeners fingers yearn for spring, as well as for some late winter flower stitching.
This video is very calm and after thinking about starting stitching, I think I might buy a set and just try the flowers… just practice and practice and practice.. A little while after I was born someone gave my parents a stitching for me, with my name and loads of Miffy’s on it (in theme with the bedroom I had as a baby/toddler) I now still have that stitching in my room.
I am not a very adept stitcher, and find Sarah's videos so clear and detailed. She makes everything look so doable; they are real confidence boosters. Hope you have fun - happy stitching! 😀
Dear Sarah and Jonathan, I just came back from a trip to Quebec (I live on Prince Edward Island) and drove 2700 km. You have no idea how much I appreciate your soothing video and peaceful music. I am exhausted , disappointed and stressed our, will never go back there again (lol). Thank you so much for being there. Ginette (Ginny)
I watched and saved this video last year. I'm finally getting around to doing this for my hand-bound book that I'm making. Thank you for the free PDF to get the crisp designs on my fabric.
I love all your videos....your the reason I even tried to embroider. As for the videos, I prefer the narration. There's alot to gain & learn by learning ones rhoughts while sewing or whatever ones doing. Nonetheless thank you
Gingers are 100% the BEST. I recently lost my ginger boy, and your wee one (who isn't so wee) is just the medicine I need! Also, that is such a clear, helpful, and easy-to-follow tutorial. I really appreciate it! I'm currently trying to master lily of the valley and mums.
Maravilhoso! Vim só olhar, nunca bordei na vida e de repente entrei num mundo encantado com uma fada e um gato! Gratidão por mostrar e ensinar isto tudo! ❤
I enjoyed every moment of this video. Wonderfully done Sarah and thank you for sharing your brilliant talent and bringing us on a thoroughly fabulous embroidery journey. ❤
Thank you so much for the PDF , looking forward to getting in the practice, I haven't embroidered for years 😊 you are very talented and generous with your teaching thanks again 😊
Thank you Sarah as always or your instructional video and the PDF. I had a quick glance through and will enjoy having a stitch along with you one I have drawn them all out on my fabric. I shall enjoy losing myself in these lovely flowers, as a lone stitcher it is so nice to feel that I am in company when I stitch. I am so glad Ginger cat was present and ready for action. I hope he has extra treats for being so well behaved.
AGREED! It looks as though a number of us were taken with that flower. Perhaps we should have a thistle-stitching party! Actually, it might be fun to one day have a Zoom-based stitch-along. 😀
Thank you Sarah for this enchanting and relaxing video! Life threw me a curveball and this was very calming for me. Thanks and blessings to you and your little helper!
Thanks for this tutorial. The flowers are so pretty. My favorite is the thistle. I would love in a future video if you could show us how to make fireweed, my favorite wildflower.
I just love Ginger cat so beautiful! Thank you for making this post and PDF pattern for these beautiful flowers very easy to follow. Such gorgeous flowers! Thank you for the PDF and such a clear video of how you stitched them. I can’t wait to try some out. Although overall I enjoyed the video I was a little disconcerted not to be listening to you explaining it all. I love your calm voice and explanations…. I missed it!
Thank you,Sarah. You are a gentle lady & your embroidery is oh,so exquisite ! 🎉 Thank you for sharing your artistic talent with us .Your Ginger is an adorable pet❤
Love you for showing all flowers!
I love it when the kitty or pup joins in. I've got my furbaby right here, you have yours right there: We're ready to go.
Ginger Cat just brings such a smile to my face. My Grey kitty is currently doing the exact same thing right now.
Love the cat all stretched out over the work space. Got one just like it and he does the same.

Ginger looks very comfy and really doesn't care that you are trying to show us how to embroider flowers.
stop it you are so lovely and your cat is so cute and you just made the internet so much better by positing this
I have been stitching for 58 years and still enjoyed your video! Love it immensely. It brought a SMILE to my face.
Боже,какой шикарный кот,смотреть на него одно удовольствие.Спасибо!

All of the worlds problems can be solved with the "french knot"....(happy face)...the best stitch on the planet...lol
Everyone should learn the French knot!
I get mad at french knots😭 and i just made three flowers made out of it

You just "popped up". I found it therapeutic watching you create such beautiful flowers 💐 ✨️
I will play this video over and over. Your beautiful flowers and music put me in a relaxed place. Thank you!
