@@nfspbarrister5681 it’s definitely uncomfortable for them to sit which is why a lot of queens don’t sit when they tuck. They mostly host clubs and do gigs so they usually don’t sit for long and just stand around most of the time
Drag queens are more well-known but drag kings are also a thing, women and others who dress up as male personas. It would be interesting to see some reactions to drag kings, too!
Just correcting, drag queen is NOT just about dressing up the opposite sex * Drag is for artistic or entertainment purposes. It is not related to your gender identity or sexual orientation. Cis women can be drag queens (Creme Fatale is my favorite), trans women, cis men, trans men, non-binary and all. The same for drag kings. I'm glad more people are hearing about drag from Drag Race, but Drag Race is starting to be more inclusive just now (Gottmik was the first trans male on the show last year so they're really late and have a lot to do yet) but at least it's already a step. However, it is good to remember that there are drags outside of RPDR as well, and even if the show is not that inclusive now, if you like drag, they are amazing queens and kings with diverse gender outside the show
I ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AGREE, but I think they were just trying to explain it in the most simplistic (overly-simplistic), basic way as it's just for a transformation-reaction video. Obviously it's not always as the opposite sex, drag can be androgynous, both cis and trans women can do drag etc.
@@markalexander3659 yeah i agree, this way is easier but it is a very outdated and stereotyped way of explaining. But I understand that they are very different cultures (despite having Drag queens there, I understand that most of the population doesn't know the meaning), so i understand your point too
i wish they would've explained what drag is in more detail/ a bit better, and that it's popular among queer/lgbtqia+ people. it also would've been interesting for them to show drag queen performances/competitions too.
i have a question , can a girl be a drag queen? ... i am always in awe so therefore i want to try it but kinda scared because of the place i live in ( very conservative but not my parents tho)
@@junxzckmultistan8405 technically someone who identifies as female and in drag would be drag king = i.e. dress as male presenting. But it is possible for those who identify as female to be in the style of drag make up too. Depends on where u go and the community you find!
What Bob the Drag Queen did with the Corset is call "Tight Lacing" and yes, it displaces things including your organs, but is not usually done to such an extreme that it cuts off circulation or significantly inhibits breathing. Breathing problems are more of a badly fitted fashion corset thing. There is also a lot of padding and fake boobs involved. Also, many Drag Queens and Kings are actually heterosexual. It was originated by the Black Gay Community and we thank them for creating such an amazing art form that we can all now enjoy and partake in.
There's a common misconception about how tight lacing can move or shift your organs. While it's true that compression around the midsection can put pressure on your soft tissues, this isn't necessarily a cause for concern. Your soft tissues and internal organs are designed to adjust to varying pressures.
I wouldn’t say “many” as far as heterosexual drag queens. We did get to meet one, Maddie Morphosis, on this season of RPDR, who was phenomenal and went home too soon. But Michelle Visage said in all her years associating with the drag community, she’s only know three straight male drag performers, including Maddy. Still, it’s nice to see there are a few, and it would be great to see more!
Well, I wouldn't say the concept of drag as a whole started specifically in the Black Queer community (it is hard to say where that started EXACTLY, as it could predate history for all we know), but the modern-day balls, and a lot of what is associated to Drag Race 100% is, and so is the high-quality level of drag is thanks to the Black Queer community as a whole, not to mention the ability to be out and gay or be a drag queen is thanks to Black Queer queens of yesteryear (think Stonewall).
I’d love to see some drag kings too! I agree w some folks who say drag has a history that’s p important to the lgbt community- but sometimes just showing people how easily people can pass as any gender look they want is just a fave of mine hohoho
@@NamuBang She’s so incredibly creative, not to mention amazing at makeup, I just sit there like 😳 every time she’s on a YT channel or show I’m watching
As additional info, I would like to add something. If a corset is custom-made for a person it doesn't squeeze your organs, rather it is good for your bones and posture. Also, corsets were the equivalent of bras, before they were invented.
I hope y'all give them information before watching the TikTok clips and really investigate about it beforehand.
