- I introduced some of my Hell Let Loose buddies - including my brother Scotty Bugatti - to Post Scriptum. This is their first full game and it was incredible!
Post Scriptum is a large scale, tactical FPS set in World War 2. If you've played Squad, this game runs on the same engine and is pretty similar overall. It's a nice change of pace from Hell Let Loose, with a little bit slower and more methodical gameplay.

Map looks like it's designed in Microsoft paint. There is no insensitive to sink 500+ hours in the game and the UI is elementary

When you have the chance, try playing as either the British or French anti-tank rifleman. Those big AT rounds make shooting at infantry targets a nice spectacle

honestly, same here man, I bought this game almost a year ago, but the game back then was almost dead. I got to the shooting range and that was it... I am glad this game is coming back and most likely during holidays you will see me at the PS servers.

Good game to play. Definitely needs an update. Sometime to hard to mount the MG properly which is annoying.
Same thing happens in Hell Let Loose... I never played Post Scriptum, so I wonder is it a common thing in first person milsim games?

Not sure if you're aware, but frag grenades do not work to destroy enemy MSPs. However, you can shoot their engine blocks (for a long time) until they explode. At the very least it takes out their engine which denies the enemy to reposition them. By the way, a machinegun is pretty good at rather quickly taking out MSPs. ;)
Edit: I just noticed that the Pionier told you the exact same thing; however, contrary to what he said, it does not take ALL of your ammo, but expect to dump two full drums of the MG 42 into it.

I just started playing PS myself. Great game, but like with HLL fighting off the enemy at long distance gets old for me. However, PS offers more close quarter opportunities I feel when defending or attacking a point.

Realistically engagements take place at long range with rifles and machine guns. This game is more realistic than your average shooter. So it makes sense. Real life is never as fun as Call of duty.
Are we playing the same game? Bc last night I was getting down n dirty in them trenches! if everyone works as a team, opportunities are created to close the distance which make it a lot easier to get into close quarter engagements. Pro-tip: this isn't Warzone. you can't close the gap by zig zagging thru an open field either.

I mean it's the same game. There's a new faction and map that I have only played briefly and didn't really like the map, but I enjoy the rest of the game.

What are your graphics config on the game, mate? Looks beautiful. Mine doesn't look like this even when I max out the settings.
I run everything maxed out, however I also do a little bit of color grading while editing the footage to make things look a little nicer.

This game needs hella optimization update. I was getting 30 - 40 fps with "optimized" settings on one of the maps with my RTX 2070 Super i7-9700F Build

I actually think some of the graphics - like the explosions and smoke - look better than HLL. I recently bought PS and am looking forward to giving it a shot. Glad to hear the game will be getting some love soon. (FYI - the only reason I know how to play HLL is because of you)
I agree with you on the effects and smoke and shit. Some really cool visuals there. The maps don't look great in comparison to HLL, especially the building interiors. But yea it's not like it's awful, just a bit dated.
@@SoulSniperYT Yep. HLL is overall more polished graphically, and it seems the audio is quite a bit better as well. Hopefully HLL will get some effects updates in the future.
Um no.. PS audio is SUPERIOR in every way to HLL.
Stick with it. I've only been playing for a couple days, was kinda lost as hell and thought it just wasn't for me. Suddenly it clicked today and I love it more than HLL. Also, the audio is vastly superior in PS. They did an incredible job in the audio department.
Let’s hope people stick with this longer than PS and not run off for the next shiny thing
The developers need to bring some great new content and keep it coming otherwise they essentially are just repackaging the game with a different name and people will catch on and move on once they realize it's just post scriptum.

@@Rogue-76 No. No it doesn't at all. You keep thinking that though. HLL artstyle is significantly better. The maps are in a different league. Texture quality is significantly higher across the board.

I need someone to answer me what's the point of playing PS over Squad or Squad over PS? If they're trying to rebrand PS into Squad because they bought PS and now almost nearly identical, what is the advantage of playing PS or Squad? I have both games, I just don't know what the difference is and why I paid for both?
I enjoy both games, I just feel like they're so similar I don't see why other people would want to buy one over the other unless you care about the era of the war.
Squad and Post Scriptum (now Squad 44) are really different experiences, especially now that Squad has the Infantry Combat Overhaul. They truly play differently now despite some similarities and the same game engine. For me, I prefer WW2 era games over modern games for a couple reasons.
I feel the maps/terrain/battles are more visually interesting and varied in WW2 games than in modern games, and the overall feel is more grand, and cinematic. I also prefer that the bulk of the weapons have simple iron sights and don't have a billion different scopes and attachments.
I feel stamina is implemented better in Post Scriptum as well. In both Squad and PS, sprinting and crouch running will drain your stamina bar. Both games will you a way to refill your stamina (drink from canteen in PS and walk/stop/rest in Squad). However, when you drink from your canteen in PS, it refills your stamina *while still allowing you to sprint and be on the move* and that's important, IMO. So instead of having to just stand still or move slowly to regain stamina, I can take a swig from the canteen, and be on my way. Sprinting still drains my stamina, but the canteen drink regenerates what I'm losing so they kind of cancel each other out, which lets you be more mobile while managing stamina.
Then there's the new weapon handling in Squad, which leans more into realism and punishes you more heavily when low stamina. It's more slow paced and methodical than Post Scriptum is currently.
Here's the question which remains to be seen: Are the devs just taking advantage of the Squad name to try to bring PS into the same brand name, but it will continue to be a different experience? Or will they take everything they've done with Squad (like the ICO) and apply it to Squad 44? I'd honestly wait and see, and then make your decision.
Been enjoying the game a lot. My eyes are fucking trash though lol. You ever tried any of the realisim events some PS units hold? Similar but different experience for sure lol. Lot less handholding in terms of hud IDing teammates and comms. The mod adds a lot of different things to the game as well.

It's Post Scriptum rebranded with a new name, and being developed again by a whole new development team. They will be releasing new content and updates soon and hopefully they take the game to the next level and grow the player base.
Unfortunately I know nothing about pc building and not going to just wing it either so I can only dream of playing ps

I was angry when PS died and HLL thrived. In my opinion PS is the far better game. I hope it has a resurgence after being picked back up.

There was a zombie update for Halloween one year. Not sure if it's still available but Google it and I'm sure you'll find it
@@SoulSniperYT It is available, just need someone to seed a server with the mode. Usually on halloween some servers using this mode appear, it is a lot of fun.

Doubtful unfortunately. Only a few hundred players on PC so justifying a console port would require a lot of growth I'd say.

This game isnt worth trying out unless you have your monitor screen bumping against your nose. Every target is half of a pixel in size, and >500 meters away.
That's not always the case. If you're patient and know how to flank properly, you can get into some pretty close quarters combat. There are also times when your squad or your whole team will be making a push to take a house or something like that and everyone pops smoke and you get into some hectic close quarters fighting.
In your opinion, is this better than HLL.
No. I do prefer HLL overall, but PS is a lot of fun and I recommend them both.
Depends on what you are looking for. HLL is definitely not as punishing in terms of death, for example.
When you die in PS you could end up walking 5 minutes back to the combat area only to be instantly caught by a stray bullet.
The vehicle combat is way better in PS for example, which is like War Thunder but more realistic. PS Infantry is slower paced and less arcadey which I prefer.
Tl;Dr: If you don't like the dark souls difficulty in your mil Sim shooter I would stay away from the game.

At this point its hard to understand why any person still buys or plays Call of Duty when you have so many other realistic great fps games out here from this to Hell Let Loose .. Insurgency etc i hope this is the future of shooting games!

It really does have amazing sound design. Though HLL has improved its sound design since the early days. But yeah it's not on Squad 44 level.

Messed up audio settings in OBS. I've since corrected it, but I recorded several good games that day so the next vid or two might still have tinny audio. But they're too good not to share!

HLL is the easier recommendation currently because it's a fantastic game and has a pretty big playerbase. Tons of full servers every day. S44 is also a great game, but a bit less accessible and a far smaller playerbase, with only a handful of full servers. Narrow em down even more by looking for local ones with decent ping and you've only got a few to pick between. That said, the playerbase is on the rise with the new developers resurrecting the game and releasing new content.
TLDR: if you can afford S44 or it goes on sale, get it and enjoy both of these awesome games. If not, maybe stick to HLL.

@@JoeZocktGames no man. Not at all. You were respectful and constructive about it and I appreciate you speaking up because I didn't realize it. The issue had to do with how I had OBS recording my audio tracks. I recently set it up so that it splits the game audio and mic audio on to separate tracks but messed up the settings and it created three tracks, two of which sounded good and one of which sounded like ass lol. Unfortunately, I have three other games recorded for Hell Let loose that I'm planning to make videos from cuz they were great games but the audio will be ass on those two unless I can find a way to fix it. But after that now that my settings are correct, everything will sound great.

The game is from 2018 and never get much love , the old dev team was making update like 2 ,3 a years only
@@TheJimyyythe dev team was never big as it was just a small mod team that built upon Squad. The map detail isn't great but honestly... when everything blows up around you, you are suppressed to hell and back, 4 MG 42/34 shoot in the distance you really don't notice the lack of map fidelity. The gameplay makes the game good, not exclusively the graphics
@@mr_confuse thats just excuse , even squad team is small and they made update every month and there is multiple game whit small team that work,hard and do awsome stuff . Periscope team was lazi whit no communication whit the player and go silence for month brfore make a update . When they did the tank overhaul they stop update the game and go silence for almost a years . They was a shit team

There's nothing wrong with liking one game over the other so those who enjoy this game should continue to enjoy it and you shouldn't want to discourage people from doing so. They're both great games. It just depends on which style you prefer.
