Some more useful info on arty: 1- Wind direction always goes East regardless of the map. Could be very useful for smoke screens. 2- Smoke can be use to blind enemy tanks harassing a position as well. It forces movement upon the enemy thus breaking the engagement and making it a target. 3- Keep track of the supplies so you don't cripple your team. It becomes very hard to balance both arty and supplies when multiple guns are firing. Be familiar with reducing your rate of fire, it doesn't have to be 0 or 100 and it saves on supplies. 4- The angle of fall (angle at which the projectile arrives at impact) is 90°. Therefore fire mission in urban areas can still be effective regardless how tight it is. 5- If you're the only soldier on arty during a game, I recommend laying the other guns on different objectives. It will allow you to quickly react to an enemy attack or support a friendly offensive.
@@LostCloudx4 i know right i just played a game and no one talked a peep the entire game no one marked enemies and we legit just got ran right over everyone was just running down the road and dying on repeat like wtf happy i got the game for free
Prior marine arty here, this game is ridiculously accurate with how cannons operate, I was surprised to see that they use a reference point to aim the guns as well as limits on the left and right side for traversing, the general rule in real life is to make the marker an object that stands out in the battlefield, at about 1500 m away, if you really want to get into finer details you can create fire missions to avoid killing other players, as well as covering a specific sector in the map to avoid moving the gun beyond the left and right traversing limits
People in this game sadly don’t understand that if all squad leaders or one or two dedicated squads would just call for fire with the arty the whole game. They’d become the MvPs of the battlefield. It’s so simple to do as well. Too bad. Also Semper Fi -Another marine.
It took me a bit to figure this out but the loader can traverse the weapon significantly. I don’t think there’s any objective that can’t be laid on with the loader traversal.
I always post that I will provide continuous suppression on objective "name" until told cease loading, to the entire unit followed by letting my squad leader know to tell the same to the cdr in the btry cmd net. Normally, I'll shift on the far enemy side of the objective once told to cease. The funny thing is the objective symbols are all "no fire area" symbols which threw me off the first time. It's definitely the graphic used to communicate where not to fire.
There's an artillery calculator app that gives instant angle after you punch in the range. It makes you an absolute nail driver with artillery. Some teams call this "cheating" but it's no different than just being good with ranging. Also you can start switching back to the firing position of artillery before you finish fully loading the round. If you time it right you can fire the literal second you're done loading. It's extremely effective.
Oh my god, using barriers and vehicles to block line of sight for arty is such a genius but simple solution I never considered. As well as putting an OP down (assuming you're a dedicated arty squad). Excellent video!!!
Man, I've owned HLL for quite some time now but I got tired of the COD grind rn so I decided to start playing and these videos have been so helpful with learning the game properly.
Getting those 100+ kill arty games is perhaps one of the most satisfying things in this game. Looking at the same animation and the map for an hour and a half but still being lethat is somehow more exciting than infantry gameplay.
I feel that. Got insanely lucky one time and linked up with a 2 man group that were actual tankers in real life. With them teaching me and their skill we went almost an entire match without dying and got over a 100 kills. I was just driving/repairing so not many of those were actually mine but man it felt good being part of such a major force in that match. We even had a couple squads start following us and watching our backs for boom bags which just made me over the moon.
this guide helped me so much, got the game yesterday and decided to play arty today with my friend, we were playing on driel as the axis, I had about 26 kills from arty before but I shot a single shell, checked my kills and suddenly went from 26 to *43* kills, I was actually shocked I hit a shell like that, ended the match with 54 arty kills, got the Audie Murphy and a whole team achievement! very enjoyable especially when your team marks things for you. Calculator is also very handy!
Free on epic games, hop on a server, man the arti, trying to figure out how it work, audie Murphy achievement pop up, until the end of game i got 90 kills no cap. What a experience
One-month player here. I started my arty career out of anguish (im suck at FPS lmfao), and never thought about munition count. Also sometimes I am the "showstar prick" that repeatedly VC my squad "ping up enemy location please" 😂 now I feel bad. But glad SoulSniper helps with this video! Thanks!
Most of the time your ability to remember things is directly related to how much you can simplify the information being memorized without losing significant details. With American and German Arty, I just remember that the 100M increment is most closely represented by 24 on the dial, and that if your reference value is less than or greater than, then you need to go the opposite direction to achieve the equivalent adjustment. So if I'm going for a 950M marker and my reference at 900M is 788, then I need to adjust 788-12 and shoot for 776. Remembering 24 is super handy for me because it is divisible by 1,2,3,4,6,8, and 12; and since the shells are effective within a 10M radius anyway, you can easily fat finger a digit or three and still be on target.
Good to see your still in the game brother !!! Haven't played for a few years since it come out best war game out especially on console 👍🏼 thanks for the rubdown on the game .
Got a banger game where we shelled the road while our tanks pushed up behind the arty and infantry behind the tanks. Literally unstoppable force meets a movable object. Man did that game feel good
Even if you start as engineer to put down nodes, please don't stay in some other squad. Redeploy, make your own locked unit. You will be significantly more effective and be able to use your own personal OP to combat enemy recon coming for you later in the game.
Yea I don’t think this was emphasized enough. Most randoms aren’t going to be communicating with their SL or the other way around and most people end up just silently playing artillery with no marks, which is where a lot of the artillery hate comes from. Because these guys are just guessing where the enemy is, burning through munitions, and likely getting lots of team kills because when lacking marks people tend to just shell the point, where friendlies need to go.
@@gusfarnell1974 I've playing artillery since say one of me starting this game I got 200+ hours of gaming and I'm always making to communicate with my teammates and officers if I'm playing in my own private squad also alpt of the time theirs always a blue berry who doesn't look at the marks that some arti are marking for their shells to hit but yea other artillery don't usually mark their shells on the map those are mainly the low level dudes that do that some high levels do that as well but yea.

About counter arty - real anti arty dudes use Light tank/ Recon armored car. Faster to get to, faster to kill (splash shot instead of shooting with bullets, especialy with built barricades), faster to get the F out, easier to survive (they need to use AT and guess what - solo dude can't do that), and you can take down somehing along the way - Trucks, tanks, barb wired nodes. About smoke shell at start/end of barrage - just tell SLs and ask them to transfer to their squads which one you are doing. The rest in on them 100% since you warned everyone
