A Day On The Hernando Beach Flats

- This was our first time spending the day on the Hernando Beach Flats. We went at low tide and the water was about 1-2 feet deep. We got to try out our new BOTE Hangout Water Hammock. It was amazing to have on the water. You basically sit in about 6 inches of water within the Hammock. Check out the BOTE Water Hammock at alnk.to/aeWpXtq.
We also grabbed lunch at the boat truck, Donnelly's Dockside, that goes out to the Hernando Beach Flats each weekend, weather permitting of course. We had quesadillas and the serving was big and were very yummy.

We have looked at the Sun Chill too. Just couldn't pull the trigger on it and then we found the new BOTE water hammock and fell in love with it.

Thanks for posting. I would like to see a video of the Gheenoe running the channel with other boats and how to handle it, there’s not a lot of videos on how to run a channel in a small boat like that with other large boats with whitecaps and other boats wake. If you have more video of The running the channel that would be helpful. Thanks

Crazy weather change. It’s Florida, it happens.
Years ago me and my kids swim in those waters. We jump out when an alligator stared approaching us.

(Annie here) Bote Hammock awesome, only with there was a way for an umbrella to attach ?! but then maybe anchor next to your sea bottom umbrella. Hernando beach site crazy as you said, def recommend a couple of sites just north of there. Also wanted to mention if you are in the mood for some fun here in St. Pete, there is a great little boat launch called "Crisp Park" in NE St. Pete. Small launch, but free, and best during the week. Hit the Publix nearby for some lunch fixings (take the 38th avenue north exit off of interstate). Long slow motor to bay, then take a right, and head towards downtown St. Pete. Just north of the Pier along North shore, there is plenty of shallow water opportunities for Bote float. Great views, opportunities for fishing and usually great dolphin watching. Keep having fun, really enjoy your outings !

Looks like you guys had a blast reminds me of when we had the reef donkey and we would go out our rough days and get soaked. If you ever want to come down to Tampa Bay we could coordinate meet up at some of the great sandbars we have down here.
We currently live in North Pinellas. Yes, we have great sandbars around here. I wish we could get out to the them more often!
What do you think about your Bōte Hammock now after owning it a while? Has it held up? Pros/cons? I’ve been thinking about getting the 7’ for us.
Haven’t had much of an opportunity to use it much lately out on the water but we have used it quite a bit in our pool. 😂 We love it!
