He never acknowledged the people around him that had became his friends and wanted to kill them all for something they had no part in and then he did a 180 and is friends with everyone again in Boruto.
As someone who is a Sasuke enjoyer: you understand that that’s the whole point of his character arc, right? Learning how to improve himself by trusting people to help him. He’s lost and desperate for purpose, has no sense of self-respect, and only knows how to improve himself when revenge is involved, something that both Orochimaru and Obito use to their advantage. Naruto’s whole journey in Shippuden is about getting across to Sasuke that he’ll always be loved and accepted no matter what and that he’s only making himself and others miserable by he closing himself off from people. Sasuke’s stubbornness, pride, and sense of self-hate prevent him from accepting this until he quite literally sees it with his own eyes. He’s a much more deep character than people give him credit for and I will not have randos on the internet calling him “whiny.”

Gaara is an extension of Sasuke. He's a Mary Sue made in order to narrativize what Sasuke's situation is, without the tribalistic appeal of also being a jinchuuriki. The whole point is that having things in common to care about, means you really only care about the things you have in common, not the person. Sasuke is made to not ACTUALLY have anything in common with Naruto and so all these differences build up to bring them apart. And that's why Naruto's ninja way is to cross that gap without a bridge. That's why he named Boruto (bolt) after Neji (screw). Liking Sasuke at the beginning is being exactly the kind of person who pushed him away from Konoha, the opposite of Naruto's heroism and point of the series. That's why people are also blind to Sakura's arc of overcoming that, since in their own life they're like Sakura and can't handle the embarrasment of the mirror.

On the Frieren take. The good news is that throughout the story it kinda flows in a way where it swaps between adventure and Shonen battle anime genres. So it’ll go back to feeling similar to the first half of season 1 soon.
Thing is Sasuke was actually pretty well developed pre Shippuden. Dude was a solid teammate who repeatedly almost died protecting Naruto and Sakura. Heck I don’t even blame him for turning evil given that he had two of the most power ninjas in the world both going out of their way to destroy him psychologically. Sure Shippuden definitely dropped the ball with his development but too be fair it kinda dropped the ball with everyone’s development.
I feel like everything she said about Vegeta could be said about pretty much every character other than Goku and Gohan, literally every other character of the Z Figthers is an antagonist turned ally, and very little of them do anything of consequence. I doubt she's read/watched Dragonball Super, but Vegeta is quite possibly one of the best characters in Super. (my favorite was Granolah the Survivor Saga arc)
Antagonists are defined by their goal being in direct conflict with another character. So turning them to lovers in spite of their differing goals is appealing to some people. I definitely think there’s a large difference between enemies to lovers and rivals as lovers, but there’s potential for enemies as lovers.
I would be surprised if people remembered everyone's names in code geass. It's a Clamp series so everyone should remember to cast as: Lelouch, CC, red noodle, orange noodle, wheelchair noodle, table fuck, spin noodle, etc..

I should re-read Naruto one day. Maybe separated from reading it week by week I'll be able to have a less emotional and exasparated reaction to Sasuke's whole story. I finally sat down and read it all back to back and honestly that ninja war arc goes on for far too long,i t feels like almost half the series. The fights didn't quite land for me either since they became a bit too over the top compared to the earlier ones in the series.

I was far more excited by Killer Bee's first appearance than I should be just because he, a grown man in his thirties, wasted a gang of traumatized teenagers.
I finally sat down and read it all back to back and honestly that ninja war arc goes on for far too long,i t feels like almost half the series. The fights didn't quite land for me either since they became a bit too over the top compared to the earlier ones in the series.
Sasuke thought he was him for killing two people with aids and other with suicidal tendencies, he was not ready for a healthy opponent

But I also think that part of it was that I was generally sick of the Uchiha powerset just being... copy eyeballs, and how the storyline had put so much prominence on the Uchiha family while I hadn't found any of them interesting. So having this complete outsider to ANYTHING we'd seen so far, Konoha and Akatsuki, utterly clown Sasuke as soon as he stepped outside the realm of what he was used to... something about that was just hilarious to me.

I feel like the oddest and most heartwarming part of Naruto is that he himself has no enemies. He'll rasengan your ass and call you out on your misanthropic philosophy, but the guy rolls persuasion on literally every major antagonist
