- We hit some major setbacks in this video with some broken bolts but that doesn't stop us from getting the new sprag installed and one step closer to a running T-bird.

Thank you
you should be using something like Yamabond, Hondabond, 3Bond, etc. Silicone is a PITA to clean up. I would be using Loctite 518 anaerobic sealant and torque everything down ASAP. When the bearings are split like that you do NOT want to ad clearance, you want the bearing shells to crush together to anchor them into the case halves.
100%!
That music must go.
Well done for doing the job yourself and filming.
As said, not sure where you got the idea about curing before torque. Brake clean doesn't leave residue, wouldn't clean brakes with acetone.
Thanks for the support! I just did exactly what the permatex explained which is set before an hour and then torque. Acetone was for gasket residue. Not reinventing the wheel here.
Hi can you share the bolt tightening sequence and torque please?
What exactly are you referring to? I get all my info from the Haynes Manual amzn.to/41uZ2jG
Ratchet Motors. IDK if you're still reading comments but I believe I have a failed sprag in mine too. I have the engine apart but now when I spin the sprag is locks in one direction the way it should. Do you think that it needs a load to have the issue? Starting to wonder if that was the issue but it really sounded like it was,
I am by no means an expert but I do feel like load is a factor. My failed sprag also seemed "normal" during removal and inspection but sounded like ball bearings in my crankcase during startup before changing
I like the video. Lose that annoying music tho'!
Hey
I have a 1995 Thunderbird and I need to do the same job, I'm not sure I can do it . I will watch your video a few times and hope for the best. Thanks P.S. Do you make house calls Just kidding
Best of luck! Where are you located? I'm still waiting on parts to get it back running so I'd recommend figuring out every last thing you need and ordering it all at once. I tried to do that but inevitably am waiting now for a second order of parts to arrive

Not the ideal sealant, motoseal or hondabond is much better, ultra is terrible for machined flanges, dont like the wrong stuff either- its high void sealant
