    ** INFO ***
The IRX4 is a Multiprotocol Module (MPM) designed for use with FrSky X-Lite radios and other radios with a X-Lite style module bay.
If you have been in this hobby for a while, you will likely have amassed quite a collection of RC models and not necessarily all of them bound to the same radio control, so probably a collection of radios too. That’s where this multiprotocol TX module will come in handy. It incorporates four RF chips into one transmitter module and supports pretty much all of the communication protocols used in the RC hobby so that you can control everything from a single radio. It supports pretty much all of the communication protocols used in the RC hobby, enabling it to control aircraft with Spektrum, FrSky, Flysky, Futaba, Hubsan, Syma, Bayang and many more other types of receivers. This module will also be useful to FrSky users that require support for D8 - latest FrSky ACCESS radios have removed support for the D8 protocol, this module can be used with ACESS radios and brings back compatibility with D8.
The Module features a STEM32 microcontroller (MCU), which has enough on-board storage space to store all of the protocols you need without having to re-flash it. Should you need to update it, it has an active Bootloader so can be re-flashed via USB. This module is compatible with the Multi-module project on github. All available protocols are included in serial mode. In this mode, it uses a serial protocol to communicate with your transmitter. The serial protocol does not require any hardware modifications, but you should update the firmware on your transmitter to the latest. Then the model protocol selection and binding is done from the Model Settings menu on your transmitter. For telemetry capable transmitters, the telemetry integration is done seamlessly with the transmitter firmware.

Spektrum has weird channel assignments. I have the same setup and had to install a lua script to get it to work . I found the binding process easier and more reliable using DSMX-2F. If I used any of the other DSM protocols, only half my channels would work. How does a receiver only see aileron and elevator but not throttle and rudder 🤔🤷‍♂.

Chris, thank you for this video. Looks like this will be my solution to use my old Spektrum DSM2 receivers. Only question for me now is: can I do the LUA Update and flashing it to the module with my MacMini m2? Would be a pitty if I had to buy a PC for this procedure. Also your attempts to update required multiple attemps and was a bit fast for me. I'm not familiar with drivers etc. Could you eventually publish a checklist how to do it step by step?
Also I can't find this multimode module on the german FrSky distributers webpage. Do you have a link where you got yours? Does this module also work in the LBT mode, which is the European requirement?

You can use Mac, it’s on the same download page. You should be able to use the video as that’s basically all you need to do. As the LUA scripts, you would add them to your radio after. I can make a video about that. As the Multimode module, this is not sold by FrSky. I found one shop in Germany, link below.

Hi Chris, I just received my IRX4 Lite. Took 16 days at Banggood, including a good price of less than 40€. That's more than half the price at any other vendor in Europe.
Now comes the hard part for me, as I'm innocent as a virgin when it comes to flashing (probably updating) the software with my Mac (Sonoma 14.5). Do you know a detailed step-by-step guide for dummies that I can use to complete the challenge? The instructions on GitHub are completely cryptic to me (terminal, script, homebrew, etc.).
I would appreciate your help or anyone else's to update the module. Thank you very much.
