Cycling Sacramento: From the Amtrak Station to Sutter Health Park. River Cats and 2025 A's!

Cycling from the Sacramento Valley Station ( Amtrak and Sacramento Regional Transit Light Rail and Bus connections) to Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. Sutter Health Park is the home of the Sacramento River Cats of the Pacific Coast League and will host the Oakland A's beginning next season for 3 or 4 seasons before their planed move to Las Vegas. From the Amtrak Station we rode west on I Street through the Old Sacramento Historical area, crossed the Sacramento River over the iconic Tower Bridge (which can be seen along with the Downtown Sacramento skyline from Sutter Health Park) then around the stadium to the main entrance. The stadium was deserted today, the River Cats are on the road at Las Vegas. Next season there will be almost daily baseball, something like 156 regular season home dates between the River Cats and the A's! The stadium capacity is currently 14,000, they will be doing improvements over the off season, I don't know if they are planning to increase capacity. The Sacramento Kings Organization which also owns and manages the River Cats and Sutter Health Park are already taking ticket requests for next year's A's games. If they keep the capacity at 14,000 tickets might be had to come by. The River Cats are normally at capacity whenever their MLB affiliate comes in for an exhibition game such as when the Giants visited in April. The Sacramento City Council is working on a free shuttle bus service to and from Sacramento City Parking Lots to Sutter Health Park for home A's dates to ease traffic congestion.
