    Baby #6 due here any day too!! It's nice to hear someone say that the routine will change once the baby is born. We're settling into our "bare minimum" homeschooling right now: two 25-minute sessions of chapter book reading, 100-250 free writing words for the older kids, and Life of Fred math! Our traveling Our Lady of Fatima statue arrived yesterday for a week's visit in our home, so I'm ready for my homebirth!! Bring it on!! ;)

    We just finished our homeschool day! I have 3rd, 2nd and 3 year old. We start around 830ish and love that we get done around 10. All depends on how focused we are. This week has been amazing and the kids have been loving our new curriculum and it's running so smoothly!! Hope you are doing well! Can't believe baby #6 is almost here 🥰🥰

    It's ideal to teach your children about the astronomical changes of quarterly seasons. They're the Winter Solstice, Spring Equinox, Summer Solstice and Fall Equinox. Each happening marks what time of what day the season begins.

Thank you for posting this I have been feeling overwhelmed by homeschool and this was like wow I can do this! Although i'm not a mother yet, we are preparing for parenthood and have started talking about parenting styles (i'm researching the montessori method) and we're considering what schooling method we are planning to place our children in. We both have decided we want to homeschool, for many reasons (I worry about the 1 size fits all learning style in most schools that often don't suit children with learning differences like dyslexia, developmental differences like autism, or children who are gifted learners, and my husband worries about the systemic issues in most schools like bullying and corruption and nepotism) and since we have decided we have been so overwhelmed and don't know where to start, and i know we have time but i want to be prepared. your channel has been so much of a help for me to know where to start and what a homeschool is really like and what to expect- thank you!

    No judgment just wondering, how do you feel about the kids having a lot of iPad time? I love your routine and I think it would work for our homeschool too. I find that the only way to get lessons done with the older kids is screen time for the younger ones. Otherwise everything is so chaotic. But I still feel guilty when they’re on screens and I wonder if there’s any other way…

    Despite me having different beliefs, this is amazing, I wish someone would have done this for me as a kid and I will be doing something similar when I have kids! You are an amazing mother and doing this for your kids is doing amazing things for them. The only thing I wonder is how do they gain social skills? It’s a genuine question because maybe something could help kids who are homeschooled to know how to talk to other people and know red and green flags when meeting people in the future so they are safe. Some simple things. Great job though! 🤍

    • @laurahill4862
      @laurahill4862 2 года назад +3

      Longtime having family w adult children and it's so interesting that the socialization question is asked so frequently. Have actually found that homeschooled kids are quite good communicators. It really depends on the family but our kids were very involved outside of the home w ballet and other dance, sports teams, outside classes etc . And often had the time to talk w adults about their work etc. The one who homeschooled straight thru high school is a teacher at a highly regarded Montessori school.
