It’s funny because a lot of people assume that homeschooled kids have things way easier and they have a less rigorous work load. I just did our end of the year evaluation with each of my daughters yesterday (1st & 3rd grade) and I was going over everything and we were sitting there feeling proud, accomplished, and amazed by the work load that each of them (and myself 🤪) completed. Your video shows that your 4th grader is a hard worker. You’re doing a great job with your kids! ❤️ Also, I love Olyvia’s head band!
Could you please link the daily affirmations? Thank you for another great video Ashley. I always look forward to your new videos. You are such a great encouragement. 🤗
What time do you start and end your school day? How do you schedule a week's worth of school, and how much time do you spend on each subject? I'm having a hard time fitting it all in. I would love to see some scheduling videos on how you get it all done❤
love your persona. Just wondering what do you do with all the curriculum when the year is all done ? im having trouble deciding if i should keep it or get rid of it?? when they are teens i will have years of curriculum ! but i have a hard time throwing it away !??! what do you do ? you should be very happy with yourself you do an amazing job !
Such a good video! My 4th grader kept peeking over my shoulder and saying, “Hey, that’s what we do!”☺️ 100% agree and encourage daily routines - kiddos thrive off routine, and routines are so helpful to Mama’s day, too!
We are starting home school for our 4th grader after thanksgiving break. She’s been in public school currently and we feel in our hearts home schooling will be the best option for her going further. Thank you for sharing this
My kids are 14 and 11 and I played the preamble for them and to my surprise they knew it by heart ! They told me they learned it in 3 rd grade and they remembered! I was shocked but in Tx, at least in our neighborhood public school, they did a good job teaching them that .
Love this! I bought one of the scripture writing journals for myself, at your recommendation and I am LOVING it! It helps the scripture stick so much better than just reading it 💕 I wish I would’ve found these years ago!
Love the video! Not sure if you’ve done a video but I’d love to hear a video on what made you decide to homeschool after having your kids in public school for a time and also how you learned how to start homeschooling. Also what challenges you faced during the transition.
Love this! So helpful as I'm gearing up for next year and trying to make some changes for the better to help our school day go smoother and less stressful. I'd be all for a list of your favorite assigned reading books, just sayin. 😆 (You've got the new camera dialed in! I actually noticed a difference here.)
My twin girls are 9 1/2 and I'd say sort of straddling 3rd/4th grade depending on the subject. I like seeing your routines and morning basket time. Already brainstorming how I can make next year more seamless and focused. They both really struggle with getting distracted/staying on task but I would like them to do more independent work. I also have a going into 1st grader that I actually need to track days with next year so that adds another layer.
Do you start your day at the same time each day, or just whenever everyone is ready to start? When do you start your own personal routine? Do you exercise and do your own devotions first?
Thank you for sharing this! Great video! Would love to see one for your 8th grader…this was our first year homeschooling (my daughter is a 7th grader)…would love to get ideas for our next year…still learning a lot.
I love the container in the middle of your table that holds pencils, scissors, etc. I would love to find something like that for our next school year. Would be willing to share where you bought it from?
Loved a glimpse into Livy’s day! So glad you are enjoying the journables, we are loving them too! I couldn’t help but sing the preamble as they were reciting it! 😂
Thanks for sharing, I love the scripture writing idea. I don’t enjoy reading to my kids I’m going to be honest. Could I play audio books instead? Also, do you guys do science?
do you have a video on how you choose read alouds? Do you pick them at the beginning of the year, or just go with the flow? There are so many options, I am a checklist kinda of lady lol Thank you for this update and day in the life, 4th grade is approaching us very quickly.
I relate! You know this! I’ve done both! Sometimes I have a book stack I want them to read through, and other times I present a few options and they choose. They read the whatever they want on their own time so they don’t really get upset when I choose for them. This is what we call and assigned reader and they are always reading other things in addition to.
@@GraceandGrit awesome! Thank you for clarifying. I will have to look and see what will go along with what we learn next year. I have their personal readers already, I just never know what to read aloud to them (14 yrs old and a 9 yr old). But I do like the aspect of having both levels. :)
Thank you for your video. I love these routine videos. Would you please share more on what age/how young would you recommend starting the world news? Is this a membership new program? Thanks again!
If you only had 1 - what age/grade would you do the constitution unit in? I'm debating when to add it to our homeschool where my daughter will really understand and retain it more.
Thanks for this video Ashlee! I noticed your camera settings were on point!! After the school day, what does the rest of her day look like? Free time until a sport/activity?
I am thinking of switching over to Good and the Beautiful math for my younger three. TGATB wasn't around with my bigs. Do you feel it is complete and helps grow the child's math ability? We have always use a mastery program but I am seeing the need for spiral. Thanks in advance.
Love your book selections in your Amazon link! It’s super helpful for my 9 year old! Do you have any suggestions for a series for a boy in 7th grade but can read at a 10th grade level? #thesteuggleisreal
Good to know! I got the character cards from sep + co for our next school year because of you! I’m thinking world watch will make an appearance in a few years! Thanks!
I love when you do these. I would love to see this for your 6th grader!

I do love these videos! I would also like to request one about your favorite read aloud. Needed suggestions
Could you please link the daily affirmations? Thank you for another great video Ashley. I always look forward to your new videos. You are such a great encouragement. 🤗
I can’t link because Jaimie doesn’t sell them. Shoot her a message!
Do you have a link to Jamie's content?
If you search her name and affirmations the video pops up and there’s a link to the free printable. I just found it! Super easy
