Hi! I’m the Flamigo user :D! Although you’re right in that I used it as a Goldhengo answer, I also brought it for a few other choice mons. With Tera fighting, it one shots both Bloodmoon and Archaludon. I also brought it because brave bird one shots a lot of Amoongus and almost all Rillaboom sets. Wide guard was something for psyspam and the occasional primarina (the prior I did actually fight once or twice) and I slapped upper hand on to scare off slower fake out users and espeed dragonite. I was debating between it and Gallade but I think I like Flamigo more because its typing is much better for this reg.
@@pezyg YEAAAAAAAHH Honestly I think my Flamigo wasn’t even optimal this tournament and it still did insanely good. There’s so much room to build with this mon
That 2nd place team is, pretty much, the team I run, except instead of Basculegion and Amoonguss, I use Annihilape and Barraskewda. The fish has amazing coverage and can hit like a truck with an Expert Belt, Life Orb or Choice Band. With Swift Swim from Pelipper's Rain and a Tail Wind option, there's very little that is going to outspeed it when it hits the field. There's also the option to scarf it up and to line the fish up for "The Barraskewda Theorem; Why Speed Isn't Everything", but I like to have fun with Max HP/Speed, scarfed FGApe.
MausApe is so back, and adding Gholdengo to the mix screws over redirection to stop Beat Up. Bloodmoon is still a menace and is even being used in Tailwind teams a lot more now.
It's honestly fun to play in such a fair way. Usually all the Pokémon that defined the format were paradoxes and legendaries Now one has the freedom to choose more Pokémon and put them to work without the worry. "Perhaps this will be enough for Urshifu?"
@@cucumbermainlineof course it's a higher level format, the main gripe was that you couldn't use the weaker mons that came along side the dlc because we skipped straight to paradox mons.
Was hyped too see Miggle did well in this. They're one of a few people I talk to when I need helpful insight with VGC teams I build. (Its usually something dumb like feebas because I don't like too use meta often)
The team that I’ve been using is araquanid as my water, blood moon over ghold, but the other 4 are the same as your anti rain team. It’s been having good results!
We should get a name for the "legendaries that usually are not banned". Maybe something like: - Regular Pokémon (the ones that rarely ever get banned) - Limited (your local Urshifus, your Zapdos, your Registeels) - Restricted (the "boxarts") - Mythical (the ones that shall never be named) This way, we don't have to ask "is Ogerpon banned" because they have to give the banlist of something that is not that strict.
As well as “non-restricted legendaries”, there’s another term which apparently comes from the game code but that I personally dislike - “sub-legendaries”. I do feel sorry for a few mons who feel like they caught bullets meant for Urshifu and Flutter Mane.
@@tomwantshelp Wasn't sub-legendary used for the kinda-but-not-really legendary pokemon, vis-à-vis ultra beasts? Idk, a lot of the categories are a bit silly.
Feel like the main issue it has is being in a format where water and grass attacks are going to be everywhere. Haven’t run the calcs but Wave Crash and Wood Hammer are going to hurt it. (I guess you could Tera Flying/Grass/Dragon to get away from those weaknesses but do you want to always have to Tera Rhyperior?)
Ah zoroark just straight up hard counters mouseape its immune to both STABs. Now seeing that in top 8 makes me want to give it a try. Also, I've been really interested in primarina in Reg H. I'm definitely looking forward to this format.
I think Tera Stellar + Tera Blast makes sense on H-Zoruark and even maybe Blood Moon (to a lesser extent). Gives you access to Stellar Tera Blast yes, but also a single targeted normal STAB if you ever don't want to hyper voice for some reason.
my first thoughts of reg H is that people were slightly overhyping the ursalunas and not talking nearly enough about archaludon. i know there will be tournies where blood moon dominates but the results of this tournament kinda confirm my first initial thoughts.
Really excited for this regulation. Much more creativity now you dont have to build around the same 6 pokemon every game (calyrex S/I, kyogre, groundon, myriadon/korydon). For me personally, this regulation is a straight buff to most of my teams since i had to leave out some of my best tools in favour of restricted counters. They didn't run many legendaries anyway, and the few it might were very replaceable anyway, just "higher stats" mcgee for a tool i can use regardless. Really excited tor this format, though I am slightly worried it could become "goldengo, palafin or dondozo" core with incin, monkey and amoongus every game.
There was a glaceon in top 20. You love to see it, but how? I love the little goober but I acknowledge she is arguably the worst eeveelution competitively
Glaceon is already pretty tanky, combined with snow and a respectable special attack it becomes a very hard to ko blizzard mon that also has room to slot haze pretty easily for Dondozo and other setup mons
Go to Limitless Tournaments and check out a couple of them, there a couple decently big weekly tourneys that happen there. And a bunch of small ones. Just look for the switch icon next to them to find VGC
Dusclops with haze and trick room works for dondozo team smacked one out last night and narrowly lost to a second one i messed up the second last turn 🤕🙄😂 i appreciate the vids boss keep up the fantastic work 🤙✌️
Me and my friend cooked up a rain team with Archaludon and Overqwil cause I've been dying to use Archaludon after seeing your video on the guy, and we were laughing when our first opponent had almost the exact same team with us using Overqwil and them using Palafin. I feel like rain teams are about to pop off this season. And this season is the one that finally gets me sucked back in to competitve VGC after Gen 7
In Reg F I ran an Archaludon rain team basically the whole series and got to 1700 on Showdown, which I was proud but was probably a misleading ELO. I think it was Reg D where I instead ran Overqwil and Basculegion along with Zapdos. That team didn’t work so well but was still fun, especially when I exploded Overqwil.
I find this game SO much more engaging when the meta is more unpredictable. Calyrex and Kyogre and etc makes things feel less fun to me, just having to build a team around 3 or 4 specific dangerous mons youre expecting to fight is boring compared to building a fun team and tweaking it as you go. I dont see this meta getting locked into 3 or 4 tgreats and everything else having to revklve around em, aim hoping anyway 😅

Is it just that other stronger Dragon Types / dragon types that are stronger in relation to the meta have come forward again, or does it not answer any threats anymore? Or is it another reason I can’t think of?
