There was an investor meeting presentation on the topic of PPE by Audi online for a long time (2021-07-07 UBS PPE deep dive). One slide displayed the differences between Macan and Q6 showing different e-motors, suspention and so on. So it's certainly not only software tuning, but a lot of hardware changes. What seems to be similar to the J1 platform is the power output of 475kW. Audi also claimed -30% energy comsumption compared to the e-tron 55, so we're certainly looking out not only for the WLTP figures but the Bjørn Nyland test of truth! Overall, as always good first impressions by Autogefühl!

@SDav21 well said, for this model and apparently future models im afraid(given recent concepts they have released) , they look like the low resolution drls from vehicles in the early 2010s. Nice presentation, again. Seems like Q6 is sort of based on Q4, similar design outside, similar steering wheel. Nice external lights but as a new Q8 e-tron owner having an all new digital-led headlights, I think Audi is taking too much time playing with lights where they should focus more on other things first. MMI still has bugs, even in Q8 e-tron for example. Second, the steering wheel buttons in new Q6 are an utter disappointment. Amazing that Audi still hasn't accepted the fact that touch buttons are a bad idea on the steering wheel - they are not intuitive, they are not precise and they take attention of the driver away from the road. While I do like the looks of whole infotainment in e-trons (congratz to Audi for still nicely integrating screens into dashboards), it's just wrong that manufacturers (especially Tesla) are trying to turn cars into "gaming" spaces. We need to drive cars, not play on the (huge) touch screens. It's so wrong, especially safety-wise. One practically needs to look at the screen for any setting (even A/C temp change). Also, since I'm 198 cm tall, Audi could finally figure out seats (I have the most premium ones available in Q8 but...) where the back of the seat could be vertically extendable, so we get same ergonomics (and headrest position) like 175 cm drivers. Oh, one thing I don't agree with in the review: Q8 and Q8 e-tron do not feel the same, not even close. We have Q8, Q4, Q7, e-tron and Q8 e-tron in the company and Q8 feels heaviest, probably most comfortable, leans a lot in corners and has more that "truck" (big vehicle) like feeling. Q7 is similar. Q8 e-tron sits better on the road, feels a bit smaller, hardly leans in cornering, still very comfortable. Q4 is the sportiest, hardest suspension of all, like a pocket rocket. It just makes you wanna drive it faster.
~6s time for 0-100 is a bit disappointing for the 55 version, a car that costs over €65k. I already drive a Tesla Model Y and a car like this with hopefully a more premium ride would be nice but is very expensive
Can Audi please put all autopilot, lane keep assist and acc control buttons on the steering wheel? It is essential for convenience control for every driver nowadays.
I have seen pictures online which showed an interior that is very similar to the Q4, which is absolutely not in line with the pricetag that will be higher than the Q4. I would have expected (and am still hoping for) the dual screen setup from the A6/7/8 and Q7/Q8.

is it true that A6 etron Avant is moved to be in production before the sedan? I got this understanding from something I read but not sure. So have you heard anything? I feel people liked to see a wagon now. So many SUVs already.
I think this car is not any smaller than Model Y, how come the back seat space is so limited? I think most people would rather give up some storage space at the back for more leg room for the back seat. It’s very disappointing that they make this like a normal ICE car with an ev platform.
It seems to me that German and "usual" automakers have reached a dead end. Some incomprehensible throwing in design, controversial decisions that are objectively strange, lack of balance between continuity and something new. Usually this was inherent in Chinese automakers. And now, when there are electric cars, when Chinese manufacturers have grown - typical manufacturers are just rushing about trying to find their way, because the previous canons are violated by the emergence of electric cars and a strong Chinese market. Look like they are trying to bring something that will take attension of customers and at the same moment hold the old customers, but result seems to be bizzare. Especially in current Audi/BMW/Mercedes design decisions.
A much needed EV platform and size between the Q4 and the Q8. We just need them to adopt the NACS connector for the North American market otherwise it will not be an option for me at this point. Mercedes is switching so I am considering the EQE SUV and also hoping BMW will switch so I can also consider the iX. I am hoping for a trio to choose from!
Nacs has to provide 800V first, - seems to be a fanboy fetish these days to call for nacs when in reality specific unreliable chargers and bad service are to blame (bring Alpitronic to USA! 😉)
It doesn't look like the future, more like the past. Audi has a real problem with finding EV silhouette. A long, high bonnet and fake grill is a conservative, safe retro design. The opposite of their "Progress through Technology" slogan. The car doesn't look like the technological tour de force, but more like an ICE Audi from years past.
Difficult to read on the while tire walls. Did you notice the rear/front dimensions on the two variants? I assume SQ6 have wider wheels. I also assume both have staggered setups. Porsche has official said that Macan will be available with 22" so I am hoping the same withRSQ6
Looking at the side profile of the Q6 if those wheels are 21 inches I can't see how the total length comes in at 185 inches....it looks a whole lot shorter than that ...maybe around 140 inches or so.
Such a boring design, no imagination and just a photocopy of the Q4 and Q8. Why would you buy this over the new Macan? Me, I’m waiting for my Fisker Ocean One in September which is far more sustainable, innovative design, way longer range, full specification with solar roof etc etc. it’s also £61,000 versus over £80,000 for the base Q6 S. Hope to see that review of the Ocean after the embargo date on the 31st.
Although it was the most successful review from the reveal, they didn’t invite us for the driving event. I asked them and we shall get a vehicle later, but very disappointing
@@autogefuehlyour review was one of the principal reasons I put down £5000 on the One. There are a few delivered to customers in Europe and the USA and they all have a similar view that the car is fantastic to drive, good quality for the price but the software needs development. Please Audi, only bring out q6 with finished software, drove the q4 for 1,5year with zero updates and lack of functionality and lots of bugs. Hardware only focus isn't good enough anymore.
Audi has been leading the charge against capacative BS, this is a 👎. Does it still have the cruise control stalk? Another thing I love Audi does, less clutter on the wheel. Seems like they know journalists will give flack for the presumably capacative/touch screen BS interior and they don't want to show it.
@@autogefuehl thanks for the quick response! The range is not an issue as much as the internal space, the infotainment system, the booth size, and the general feel of luxury.
I assume the Q6 will offer Adaptive regen. But maybe the software was not ready. You did not say anything about it. I prefer that over one-pedal driving.
Good review as always. I'm not sure if I like the front design of that car. It seems like Audi has taken a sort of VW ID design. So the Fareo Islands are "....sort of close to the British coast...." ...really....where have you got that idea from....??? Maybe you should check the map ....it is a direct (air) distance of 390 km ...when starting in Torshavn. So not really close i would say......and you would find yourself on deep water if you should try to swim that "close" distance.....
I'm struck by the natural green beauty, yet lack of trees ...per google "Thanks to strong winds and frequent gales, there are few trees on the Faroe Islands. And the ones that are here are not native. Most were brought in from Alaska and South America's Tierra del Fuego, which have similar climates to the Faroes"
I really hope they can get more than 500km from a 100kWh battery. Owning a Q4 I'm really interested by this vehicle for a replacement but so far, none of the features described is a significant improvement over the MEB platform : I currently get a 530km WLTP from a 82/77kWh battery pack and charge 20 to 80 in 27 minutes thanks to a very flat curve.
The WLTP figure is expected to be around 600 km for the Q6 e-tron but generally Thomas seems to achieve 15-20% less in real life, ballpark figure. The 500 km figure is likely derived from this context.

is it true that A6 etron Avant is moved to be in production before the sedan? I got this understanding from something I read but not sure. So have you heard anything? I feel people liked to see a wagon now. So many SUVs already.
No sedan comes first
@@7ludiThen Nio beats Audi in the sedan and wagon game 🙄
I think this car is not any smaller than Model Y, how come the back seat space is so limited? I think most people would rather give up some storage space at the back for more leg room for the back seat. It’s very disappointing that they make this like a normal ICE car with an ev platform.
I would get this to replace my Model Y.
LOVE the OLEDs!
I swear 13mins in, Thomas was discussing the bellends mode 😂😂
It doesn't look like the future, more like the past.
Audi has a real problem with finding EV silhouette. A long, high bonnet and fake grill is a conservative, safe retro design. The opposite of their "Progress through Technology" slogan. The car doesn't look like the technological tour de force, but more like an ICE Audi from years past.
What is the drag coefficient of this one?
Difficult to read on the while tire walls. Did you notice the rear/front dimensions on the two variants? I assume SQ6 have wider wheels. I also assume both have staggered setups. Porsche has official said that Macan will be available with 22" so I am hoping the same withRSQ6
I certainly don’t need all the bells and whistles. I want range, efficiency, comfort fast charging and a good gsp.
The problem with this is Q4 and Q8 etron has similar interior space. Is this similar also? Why?
Q8 will be discontinued likely and moved to this new platform later.
Looking at the side profile of the Q6 if those wheels are 21 inches I can't see how the total length comes in at 185 inches....it looks a whole lot shorter than that ...maybe around 140 inches or so.
This is the EV SUV we've all been waiting for. Now just get the F'ing software sorted!
Audi has always their software sorted, not as flashy as Merc or BMW but it does what it means to do
What do you think about the performance? Is it better thnan a 3 motored E-tron S / Sq8 E-tron? Is it lighter as well i think?
There will be SQ6 e-tron and RSQ6 e-tron
That steering wheel is nicht gut.
It looks like a trainer in that livery.
Hope This comes with bright colors like green, orange, red & blue😀!
nice Review!
The left-hand side charging port should NACS in America!
Yes of course ❤
@autogefühl, could it be, that the annoying “S-Bahn” Noise of the (Q8) etron is gone?
Such a boring design, no imagination and just a photocopy of the Q4 and Q8. Why would you buy this over the new Macan?
Me, I’m waiting for my Fisker Ocean One in September which is far more sustainable, innovative design, way longer range, full specification with solar roof etc etc. it’s also £61,000 versus over £80,000 for the base Q6 S. Hope to see that review of the Ocean after the embargo date on the 31st.
We did the premiere: ruclips.net/video/vVz4iGqYJxI/видео.html
Although it was the most successful review from the reveal, they didn’t invite us for the driving event. I asked them and we shall get a vehicle later, but very disappointing
@@autogefuehlyour review was one of the principal reasons I put down £5000 on the One. There are a few delivered to customers in Europe and the USA and they all have a similar view that the car is fantastic to drive, good quality for the price but the software needs development. Many come from Teslas so that makes sense. It’s ridiculous you weren’t included particularly as a lot of your followers like me are focused on sustainability. Maybe you shouldn’t have mentioned Elon 😊
@@autogefuehlmaybe speak to Oliver and see if he will let you review his Ocean One? Then you can beat all the other journalists ahead of their release. You can’t be embargo’d if they excluded you from the press launch! 😅

Meet the new Macan people!
Please Audi, only bring out q6 with finished software, drove the q4 for 1,5year with zero updates and lack of functionality and lots of bugs. Hardware only focus isn't good enough anymore.
Fancy lights show, how easy is it to change a broke light.???
May I get this colour for my Q6.
Beautiful car and great color 🇩🇰🍀
What are the full dimensions of the Q6 etron (L x W x H x WB x TRUNK/BOOT)?
Will Porsche trunks also get SMALLER than the one in the Taycan with its low hood?
アウディ❤Audi❤️ from Tokyo .
I'm sure you sneak peeked on the Dashboard 🤣🤣🤣🤣
How worse must be the status of the Infotainment software, if they delay the presentation of this…
Audi has been leading the charge against capacative BS, this is a 👎. Does it still have the cruise control stalk? Another thing I love Audi does, less clutter on the wheel. Seems like they know journalists will give flack for the presumably capacative/touch screen BS interior and they don't want to show it.
Would be cool if OEMs would offer such wraps from factory
Worthwhile waiting for this or buy the Q8 etron now?
Depends in if range is important to you
@@autogefuehl thanks for the quick response! The range is not an issue as much as the internal space, the infotainment system, the booth size, and the general feel of luxury.
Q8 biggest drawback is range, rest is nice
I assume the Q6 will offer Adaptive regen. But maybe the software was not ready. You did not say anything about it. I prefer that over one-pedal driving.
Ye sure it does
Good review as always.
Don’t like the separate headlights. Looks similar to bmw’s design on the I7. And we really don’t need more suv’s :(
If the interior is not yet complete, why bother bring it out for show? the exterior is nothing special anyway
It IS complete, they just don't wanna give away everything
Thank you, very good review. Probably will be very pricey as Audi makes you add every little thing a la carte. I suspect a fully loaded to be $80+
Cheers!
Hope and pray for alcantara headliner as an ekstra option
How it compared to the audi Q4 e-tron? It looks more like the Q4 than the Q8 e-tron tbh...
15:58 The iX is pure EV
That’s correct. i5 iX3 iX1 follow the multi purpose approach
Recuperation takes away battery life if too strong according to tests. That is why they default to zero.
Bigger battery than in the Taycan and New Macan?
