    This weeks I turned a walnut bowl, I picked up this wood while I was on vacation. The grain in this piece is stunning!

    That’s a great looking bowl. Over the last 30 some odd years of doing stock work, walnut has always been my favorite. I can’t wait to get my new shop set up and start turning.

    Thanks for slowing it down a bit. As a beginner it really does help to see your technique and also to realize that it does take more than 10 minutes to complete one of these projects. Beautiful bowl.

    Peggy, Walnut is one my most favourite woods and this one is probably the nicest grained bowls I have ever seen. Its absolutely gorgeous 👍👍👍 ps I love the slower videos and to be honest 16 minutes or so watching a talent like yourself is such a pleasure ❤

    I really like to watch a project from start to finish including the prepping of the wood before the project is started. I do like when the video is sped up as long as I can see what is being done to the item. Thank you for showing what you do, it is very nice... btw I have Subscribed and I also like the videos I watch...

    I appreciate the fact that you don’t have muzak playing through your videos (surely the - slightly muffled - sounds of wood being turned is music to any woodworker’s ears?). You have a very pleasant sounding voice, which certainly adds to your narration. Keep it up!

    You made the comment about ‘beautiful’: “. . . not my work but the grain.” I appreciate your humility in saying that. That is a rare quality in creative people. Although among the really good creatives I find it more common. Probably because they don’t feel the need to hide behind their boasting . . . and let their work speak for them. But, to be clear, this is one observer who wants to assure you that your work is very beautiful. That’s why I subscribed.

    Beautiful bowl, Peggy. The grain on the inside and outside are different but both spectacular. Speed and length of video don't matter until they are too much over 30 minutes (a little longer is ok). Keep up the narration and no music.

    The main idea we need is what and how you are turning and the position of the tools. You are doing great. My uncle turned trays as they are called, not short bowls...

    I turn (mostly) pens and small bowls. I just did my first real vase, about 18 inches. I think your videos are better than you think they are - really good information and well produced. BTW, I'm from South Portland. It's nice to see someone from home.

    I prefer the longer video because it allows me to see the technics used. This project was truly a nice piece. I love the natural grain in wood and this had plenty to see.

    As always I enjoyed watching your video and the endresult yet again is amazing. Actually by watching your videos (and those of other turners) I got inspired to take up an another hobby (besides gaming). So a few weeks ago I started with a beginner's course of woodturning. As for now I really suck at it :) but I'm really enjoying myself! You guys make it look real easy tho :).
