CUTE, CUTE1Your glasses are just darling on you and your new hairstyle makes it even better. I can't wait to hear about your style words you have put together for yourself. Happy sewing.
Wonderful job on your pants! I would also be miffed about a pricey paper pattern that you still have to tape together. No, you’re not in the princess mode😊 Thanks for sharing your pants fitting journey!
I think those pants fit you so well and look really good on you. Absolutely love that book sleeve - such a good idea! Can’t wait to hear all about your style and those trousers you’re planning to make! P.S. Love the background of this video!! 💞
I filmed in our sunroom which is a little quieter (other than Martin) now that we have the sound mitigation. When the pickets go up for the new fence it should also dampen the road noise.
You are right to feel miffed!! That is a huge amount of money to pay for a pattern where you still have to do some work!! The trousers look great though, I love the look of them on you and the fit looks spot on to me. That book cover is super ❤ x
I, also, need to get going on pants fitting. I have watched enough videos and read enough books. It’s time to just do it. Izzy has made some really nice pants. I like the ones you made, too.
Thank you! I am excited to get pants that fit well. Probably why I defaulted to dresses so much. Sewing pants opens so many possibilities for pretty blouses 💕💕
I like pants with flat front and elastic in back. I was working on fitting pants but have been sidelined over a health issue. Hopefully I’ll get back to my pants in the near future. I have been sewing a skirt just to keep my mind off things. Also I could use some skirts for church.
I know! I have received a couple of compliments from people who did not know I made them. Lesson learned though to check if I am not familiar with the designer.
I love your new glasses! Great pick. You’re absolutely not being a princess about the taping issue. It’s crazy to me that a printed pattern, priced at $24, isn’t actually complete. There must have been a paper shortage at the factory that day….🙄 The Luna pants look good! I agree with you about fully elasticated waists though. They always roll when I sit down and I find myself constantly futzing with them. I 100% get distracted with other projects. I have more “serious plans” than time and the priority constantly changes.
IMO, you are absolutely not a princess for expecting not to have to tape a pattern after paying that much for a printed pattern. I too would be miffed! Thanks for sharing!
So annoying about the printed pattern. I’ve noticed this on a couple of A0 pdf patterns that the trousers length don’t fit on one piece of A0 paper. But to pay $24 is ridiculous when you still have to tape! Pants look amazing- congratulations on getting on to your pants fitting journey. I’m still learning too, definitely not an expert and there’s to be a few lessons to come! Lovely vlog, RUclips seems to hide you on my feed for some reason, so just seen this and it was lovely to catch up with you and find out what you’ve been up to x ❤the Thea pants are really easy to sew up especially when it comes with a video for the zip/ fly part!
Thanks Emma! I noticed with the RUclips changes I need to go to subscription instead of home because there is a lot of stuff in my home feed that I am not interested in and I have to go looking for my tribe. Sigh - 🙄. I am even more excited about the Thea Trousers after hearing your good experience with them. First I need to clean up my sewing room that I took apart. It is a mess, but I will thank myself later.
Great updates. Elastic waist pants are a good starting point but its hard to get excited about them. I made the Lander pants in September and am really happy with them. I'll keep fingers crossed your sewing journey on the pants fitting quest continues to go smoothly.
@ChristineSewsALot I switched to the zipper but I couldn't figure out their pattern instructions for the zipper. I ended up just following Karina @Lifting Pins and Needles. Went very smoothly once I did that.
Ooooh my goodness! $23 for a pattern you have to put together!? 😮 Guess I've just assumed that store bought patterns were tissues patterns. Your pants look great. You might like flat front waistbands with elastic back waist better. 😊 Cute labels!
Nice pants. I think Karina of Lifting Pins and Needles has a great YT on changing full elastic to flat front with back elastic waist on pants and skirts.
My recent rant is regarding buying pdf patterns and spending again to print them off. I recently spent $200 at pdf plotting and I didn’t get all of my pdf patterns printed. I am on a pattern no buy now because I think I have more patterns than I can make in my lifetime. Rant over, but I feel your pain with printing and taping patterns. And then storing the patterns…
I know! I just destashed a bunch of pdf patterns I bought, printed, stored and never made. I am thinking more than twice before buying. I am seeing all the Black Friday sales and saying no - I will get it if I want to sew it immediately down the road. Also have been picking up the paper patterns instead when the math says it is cheaper. Like you, I probably have enough 🙄

And I will be revealing a new hairstyle soon. I got a lot cut off so that my high maintenance hair would not be an excuse to not go swimming.
Super cute new glasses. Good job sticking with the pants. Love the labels.
Thanks! I like these glasses because they are cute and I see better - always good 👍🏻. I do enjoy labels.

Yes, I was annoyed. I would definitely check that issue before buying any more Made by Rae patterns.

Thanks Carole!
Love your new glasses!!!
Thanks! Me too 💕

Sewing is good therapy! I love the Sabina Skirt in a rayon. Hope you are on the road to recovery.
Love your new glasses! Your hair looks great!
Thanks! I am liking the new look. The pixie is a return to an old favorite.
your pants look really nice. if I had paid that price for a paper pattern i would've been pretty peeved as well!
I know! I have received a couple of compliments from people who did not know I made them. Lesson learned though to check if I am not familiar with the designer.

Thanks! 🧑🏫 I have sooo many plans! I am like a kid in the candy store when it comes to sewing projects.

Yes, I did need a little cooling off time.

@ ha ha my sewing room is always a mess, constantly trying to tidy after myself 😂

That is good to hear. I have always liked the Lander Pants. Did you do buttons or a zip?
@ChristineSewsALot I switched to the zipper but I couldn't figure out their pattern instructions for the zipper. I ended up just following Karina @Lifting Pins and Needles. Went very smoothly once I did that.

Agree about the tedious waste of time that taping is. Thanks for the warning. I’m pass on the pattern.
Yes, when it comes to taping I place a high value on my time.
