Taking a tour in a huge Scrapyard in southern germany located in Ingolstadt (bavaria).
Many destroyed cars are lying around and you can unscrew parts from the cars and take them with you.

In the USA, many salvage yards allow the customers to roam the yard with their tools and remove parts themselves. The cars are grouped by brand and model, and are raised up off the ground by welding old steel wheels to the undercarriage. That way, lower chassis parts can be accessed. They also have part removers available to retrieve the parts for you (at an additional cost).
