God, I love the cat. Every air molecules that touches her wings must be lucky. What a airframe. Beautiful on every angle, in 1000 years not can be match by an other fighter. ❤️❤️❤️
Loved the video. Thanks a lot! My cousin was the skipper of the Jolly Rogers when they transitioned to the F-4 wayyy back in the mid-60's. Long ago I had a picture of him standing next to their first F-4. I wish I still had that. From a former AT1(AW) in EA-6Bs :)
i love all the tomcat squadrons helmet art, but vf-84 is special with its lively yellow colour and skull and bones graphics. yes, the one in the final countdown movie is the one i like best, too. google 'helmetfx' and look at the pics, there is one, just like in the movie.
@Jollyrogerdoc Yeah, the early gray over white schemes are the best. Jolly Rogers, Pukin' Dogs and Ghostriders had the best looking CAG birds! Not to mention Jolly Rogers made it into sci-fi twice that I know of. Once in the Final Countdown and also in Robotech. (They were called Skull Squadron on the show, but in the novel, Jack Kinney directly references VF-84 on the Nimitz and the planes they flew from the Tomcat through several ficticious aircraft to the Veritech.)
Yeah. Just imagine if your dad died in one of these firefights, and you celebrate his memory with a song like this. “Amazing Grace”, perhaps, might be a more fitting coda.

I was with the jolly rodgers
I preferred the previous style yellow gold with the black arrow heads. Check out the movie "The Final Countdown" for an example.
@15Y15F I've never seen it, will have to check it out!!
FEAR THE BONES!

the men of the squadron usually pick the song, so take it up with the pilots
Who is your dad? or What was his call sign?
