- Angel Island State Park: Exploring the Perimeter Trail & Immigration Station
Angel Island is about 30 minutes off the coast of San Francisco and it has dozens of miles of hiking trails and lots of history. Amie and I took a trip over to explore it and really enjoyed all of the amazing things there is to see on the island. Be sure to plan more time to explore then we did though!

0/10 didn’t get to see knuckles
I am also quite upset
Now set it on fire, this will be Act 2.
Now fall on a mysterious Water place
Funny thing is, I heard that the California Wildfires were close to Angel Island, so it's kinda similar to the actual game!
Did you find the master emerald?
What if there is a 3ft green diamond there but its just hidden?
where knuckles
dead
Master Emerald still hasn't been returned yet I see
And the red equidnas??
Echidnas*
yeah, but they'll beat you for your chaos emeralds
Did you see knuckles and the master emerald there?
Is there a hydrocity under the water?
Yes
Angel island theme plays
Full of sonic references..I love it
Thats literally the only thing on my mind when I saw that this Island existed
I always thought angel island was from sonic
where master emerald?
Knock knock it’s knuckles
Sonic Fans on their way to set and island on fire (it's an epic Sonic 3 reference)
where big glowing rock
How many rings did you collect?
ZERO
But.... what about the Echidna?
I heard there was a fire on that Island and a hedgehog
Are bicycles allowed on Angel Island? I don’t want to rent a bike. I want to bring my own. So it would be nice to know if bicycles are allowed on the ferry? I just subscribed. Your channel is very informative and will allow me to get out and see my state
Very informative, thank you. Loving your channel! If you ever camp there, I highly recommend site #4. It's a bit exposed but has good privacy and a great view of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. The hike to the summit is also incredible.
nobodyhikes such a great tip, appreciate it! I hope to camp there one day
Is camp Reynolds named after Burt Reynolds
Excellent video! I want to explore my state and am looking forward to following your guides. Thanks!
TheDenisedrake so awesome! Have fun exploring!
I had no idea there were so many buildings on the island and that it had so much history! I have friends that take their boat there pretty often, but they never told us there was so much to it! Very cool 👍
Travel Small Live Big ya I was surprised when I went as well. I didn’t expect it to have as much on it
“Get in boys were goin to find the master emerald!”
Apparently this island used to float in the sky...
Be careful dont fall in the water or else you’ll end up in hydrocity and most likely drown
Better not get caught by knuckles!
Where is the Huge Emerald
Remember All Dogs Go to Heaven the second movie and the series it takes place in San Francisco and Brooke (my oc and David's oldest cousin) wpuld sometimes hangout at Angel Island with Charlie and Itchy
Where’s Knuckles?
Good stuff. I remember coming here back when I was in 6th grade and now Im in college. Great memories with my class
Where the ghost 👻
I stayed overnight there with a group. We kayaked to the island and also kayaked back. We stayed in this museum like house called "the bake house" and at night me and meh friend sang Hamilton songs for everyone.
Best night ever. 💙
Great job you two giving us a taste of Angel Island! I cant wait to check it out some day ! Thanks !
Thanks for the comment and have fun if you explore the island!
@@californiathroughmylens I just hope that it doesn’t get set on fire in act 2
@@IcedCakes-X Yeah same, I heard the boss was a mini flamethrower :/
What a nice island!
I sure do hope that no egg shaped head evil scientist burns it!
What if you bring your own Bikes or your own Adult Size Trike?
I'm camping her right now. Do note there are several campsites here. You can also grab the ferry from Tiburon which is $12 and it takes about 15 minutes to get across. It's great to hike here after everyone leaves. It's like your own private island and with all the old abandoned buildings it's really cool.
Angel Island will soon be my own private island after I pay 30 billion for it.😂🎉
Can you fly drone there?
We did.
There is also a Nike missile site on the north side of the Golden Gate bridge in the Marin Headlands. On weekends its staffed by volunteers and they actually raise the missile into firing position and lower it into the "garage" underground. It's pretty cool! Great video.
Can you bike around the entire island? Or are there places where you must walk (like a large flight of stairs)?
I believe you can pretty much bike the entire thing. There are stairs that provide a shortcut to the beach but I believe there is a bike path you can take that goes around them
Cool thanks!
Great video, again. I lived up there for a short time, my favorite spot away from silicon valley was Santa Cruz. Maybe you can add that to your list, but like everything up in bay area(weather) it's best to wait till spring/summer. Keep on.
I have been wanting to get back to Santa Cruz for a while now. Hopefully soon!
I am watching this video because my school is going on a 6 day trip there so this helped me prepare
AWESOME! Missed a few videos, can't wait to catch up! Love Alcatraz, great experience.
toshibavoodoo I love Alcatraz as well, such a fun spot to explore
Take your bike and a picnic!!!!
Can you camp on there overnight?
Is it possible to get an earlier ferry so that you can spend more time on the island? Or get a later ferry? This is some place we have not been and always wanted to go there. Hopefully we can get there sometime.
Julie H yep there was an earlier ferry that day that we should have taken haha
I went there on a field trip in 4th grade, a good ol 15 years ago 😂😂
Josh Ramirez that’s an awesome spot for a field trip!
@@californiathroughmylens definitely! Video makes me want to check it out again!
Another great video my man!
Nice one. I just made reservations for tomorrow morning, and yeah we're still going to be doing the COVID discipline but that should be no problem on Angel Island. From what you've shown I'm sure we'll be going back to spend more time there.
I went to angel island for my 5 grade school field trip and this video is so nostalgic
Did you find the hedgehog
Did you find the Master Emerald
Hi Josh! Thanks for your great videos ! We just visited McCloud & Burney Falls thanks to your videos. Does the ferry departure time directly correlate to the arrival time? Considering this and the Pinnacles Peaks weather permitting on our way back home.
Dude just called sea lions seals. 😢
Cool stuff
I miss being able to go through the Batterys. Now they have them filled in and a lost part of history.
Fr
You guys are really one of the few RUclips people that really make my 4k TV pop. Great video again.
I am glad to hear that all of the frustration I have editing 4K footage makes is worth it! Thanks for the comment.
Your videos are so relaxing to watch ! :-)
Thanks for the video!
Those are sea lions, not seals FYI.
Thank you Josh, as always, your videos have all the information needed. And those views!! You always find the best spots for those amazing views. I can’t wait to go there.
Violet BF thanks for the comment! The views were awesome but I can’t imagine how amazing if it would have been a clear day!
Can u take bikes on the ferry?
Thanks for the tips👍
Want to go back there so bad
If you do not get the last boat, you will spend the night there and you can see stars!!!
And ghost 👻
I claimed too the top!
Thanks for the video. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
iTravel California no problem!
Oh hey! Ran into y'all on my way into camp. One of the trails was partially collapsed on the way up to the peak. Glad to see the final product.
Great to hear from you! How did you find the video? How was the camping on the island?
@@californiathroughmylens it was pretty nice. I was the only camper according to the Ranger lol. Night hikes we're fun, and great views. Found the vid when searching for more info since I want to go back soon and wondering if I missed some cool footage.
The cove is beautiful!!
I work here as a maintenance guy.
Any red echidnas?
Cool:)
That was awesome, had no idea that island is there.
CF R yea, this was my first visit too!
Loving these videos dude👍
Johnny Utah thanks, appreciate it!
First, the animals at Pier 39 are California Sea Lions; Pinnipeds in the family Otariidae - distinct from true seals(phocids) and the walrus (odobenids). You can also get to Angel Island from Tiburon. Adult round trip $15. angelislandferry.com
I was going to point out the seals vs. sea lions thing. I also took the ferry from Tiburon.
