Lore time: Ryu actually became Falcon in the games, that's why in Brawl Captain Falcon is bottom tier, Ryu was just getting used to the power and abilities, by the time Smash Ultimate came out, he managed to climb up the tier ladder quite a bit but still not as much as he was in Melee, he's got a ways to go but he's getting there.

I just like how captain falcon become a bounty hunter just like samus but unlike samus he just fighting criminal instead of aliens
