I think the big speed difference between the 2019-2020 model and yours is that the older models have the Euro 4 exhaust norm and everything after 2020 has Euro 5
Now you say it, I completely agree!
I dont totally agree because the engine was from the beginning able to be a euro 5 Engine.
@@Maxibsa The engines are the same but the catalytic converter is stricter on the Euro 5 machines, leading to mre exhaust backpressure
Recently bought a YZF-R125 as a first bike and it is without a doubt the best decision I made, easy to ride!
thats amazing mate, great job!
I want to buy one as well. But I weigh 100 kilograms. Isn't that too much for that bike - will it be able to get off the line?
@@Jz-pu6jd on the treadmill mate

Hey man I am 16 in the UK. Turning 17 in August and have Been toying withe the idea of getting a yzfr-125 and this has really helped confirm this so thank you and I love watching your chanel ❤
Thank you mate, I really appreciate the feedback!
Well made video mate, good luck with your channel! I really enjoyed the video.
Thank you mate, I really appreciate it!
Nice review, a quality machine like the ktm models, worth the money for sure
Just bought one today. First bike with my CBT. Wish me luck!
Good luck mate, you got this!
Love your channel man!
Thank you mate!
love the vids bro im thinking of getting a yzfr125
Thank you mate! I'd say go for it!
Like your video mate all true points 🎉🎉
Thank you!
I just got myself the KTM RC 125 2023 model, what a great bike it is, still running it in but having alot of fun on it.
Oh wow, that's amazing mate! How fast you gone?
If your into customising just wait untill u put a sports pipe on it with a remap etc, will be alot of fun especially in the summer with your mates, good times ahead👌🏾
@@NathRides sorry late mate got 69mph out of it last year.
@@damienhowell3727 I will look in to that, thanks
I turned 17 late October, looking for a 125cc and this is the bike I'm thinking of getting👍
You'd love the YZF-R125!
did you end up getting it? also thinking of one when I turn 17 and wanna hear your thoughts
@@spookyhzz I ended up going for an Aprilla Rs125.
It's pretty similar the yzf-r125 except its a bit cheaper (which is why I got it instead)
I'd say if you can afford it, go for the yzf cuz as far as 125cc bikes going this as pretty much as good as you're getting but if you're in thr same boat as me, tryna earn your own money, there's the bike, the insurance, the gear, then there's nothing wrong with having a look at some other option z
@@suggestagoodnameformeplz1035 alright thanks for letting me know, ill probably be aiming for the yzf r125 but if I end up not having as much money I’ll think of something like the aprilia
@@spookyhzz yh good plan👍
Great video mate :) I'm currently toying with purchasing one as I've got my cbt coming up, I've seen one that looks like it's been well maintained but it's a 15 plate with 30,000 miles on it for around £2,200. Was just wondering whether or not you think it's worth it, thanks :)
That's an okay price but you can always knock then down ;) 30000 miles is quite high though
@@NathRides hopefully yeah. I am also considering a 18 plate suzuki gsx s125 with only 2,500 miles on it. But the price for that is just short of 2.8k - might be able to knock it down tho as you say ;)
Get bud would you recommend this bike for my mates 17 year old for his first 125, he want mine I said I don't bloody think so, I have a Kawasaki H2 R, I said it's way to fast for you. I said that's one way to kill yourself
They are so good for the money😘😘😘😘
Yes they are! They last for ages too!
I've just passed my CBT and cant stop myself from getting one.. trying to find one at the moment for a decent price as they are high and low at the moment some selling for 2-3k and ones just under 2
Yeah, they can be expensive but they're great bikes!
@@NathRides hopefully managed to find a 2012 one. two weeks and she's mine! as long as the person doesn't sell after agreeing to hold.
I'd really want this one to be my first one, is it good for beginners?
Yes mate, very good bike for beginners!
Yo Nathan, approximately how much do you pay for insurance, any advice on how to make it cheaper, any company to suggest? I am looking of buying the new gsx r125 2022, did my CBT and am 22y old?
Hi mate, I always use the BikeInsurer for my cheapest quotes. Give them a try and call them if you'd like a cheaper quote as talking to someone can lead to a cheaper premuim :)
had my 2015 yzf-125 for almost 3 months now. its fun at first it felt fast now its just feels slow as fuck. gonna practise 4/5 more months then get full licence and move away from 125s for good.
Go for it mate! More power is always good ;)
Good luck buddy I have a ninja 600 witch is fun bit not fun for city's as have to stop all the time so getting a yzfr 125 2018 model for the city's
I loved the video and just subbed.
I'm thinking of buying one of these bikes in the near future.
Do you think it's a better option to buy second hand rather than buying a new bike?
Thank you mate! Second hand would save you lots of money, I've alwsy bought 2nd hand myself :)
hi mate im gonna be doing my cbt tomorrow then looking for a bike im 6ft3 and 320pounds any recommendations ?
Hi mate, I'd say you can get any bike you like but I always say the YZF-R125 as its never let me down
Great video. I am looking to buy my first bike and I found a 2011 Yamaha yzf r125, 30000 km driven for 2000 EUR it also includes a helmet and I was wondering if it was a good deal?
it is but maybe try pull it down little bit like 1800/1900
I agree with with vilho!
Can get a 15 model for that price
Hi mate are you using the stock sprockets sizes
Hi mate, mechanically is all stock :)
Tbf what stopping u putting the bigger tyre on younger gen if their build the same can it be done ? 👍😎
I'm sure someone has done this haha
Hey? How it's to drive on rein. Make problem on chain?
It does really well in the rain actually :)
Idk what to chose aprilia rs125 or the yzfr125
Both are great, reliable bikes :)
Don't laugh but I am between this and the new Honda Dax 125 (that's not even here yet) for my first ever bike.
Apparently both offer things that excite me so I guess by the time I make a decision I will be changing my mind time and again.
The Dax is much more practical and the way my life works it would be a no brainer.
On the other hand I have a career in racing karts spanning 20 years before retiring, so let's say I enjoy anything sporty.
This is a riddle to occupy my mind going through Summer
I wouldn't laugh! My advice is to take the bike that you feel belongs to you more. That's the advice I followed, I've had some shit bikes and some great bikes but I've tried the bikes I've wanted. Both are great choices and very reliable :) let me know what you decide
@@NathRides Thanks for the advice brother, I appreciate giving me your 2 cents considering how much experience you have with bikes and I am going to put it to good use.
Stay safe
That's all good mate! Thank you for supporting my channel. If you have any more questions, you can always message me :)
I am not a nativ english speaker. So did I understand it correct that you said that your modell isnt as fast as the 2019 R125 ? (10:43)
yeah that is what he said
Yes, I did but not as fast as my race modified R125 2019 :)
@@NathRides what's the 0-60 on the 2019?
80th, im struggling to choose between this bike (2019 model) or the KTM RC 125. Any tips?
Hi mate, it's a good question. Personally, I'd pick the YZF-R125 as the reliability is considered much better!
@@NathRides thanks for responding :). One more question: How is riding the 2019 in a city? Because the KTM isnt great at low speeds because you need to keep a higher rpm to stay moving. I think the case might be the same for the Yamaha because its also a supersport.
Riding the YZF is easy in big cities. I cruised on it around 4000 rpm at low speeds :) if you've got anymore questions, let me know :)
I have the 2021 model how do you change the welcome name on the dash
Here you go mate

So the game ur developing is kinda like forza 5 with the open world. Sounds like it will be fun!
Yes mate, thats the plan but its a big project!
Yamaha also sells the yzf-r25 in Asian countries I'm pretty sure.
Ah wow, I didn't know that!
"your insurance will never forgive you" DEAD!! "behind me is a massive expensive lamborghini, whos the real winner. DEADER!!
Hahaha, it is funny :)
Where do you buy this bike??
Brand new - From a Yamaha Garage. 2nd Hand - From Ebay, Facebook, Auto trader :)
Nah I didn't even realise it was you I'd seen on the bike
Hahah, you seen me?
To late bought it and I am going to get it on Monday
Hahah, what year and colour?
@@NathRides 2022 and Yamaha calls the colour Icon Blue. Its the colour like on your thumbnail
Did you have to wait long to get your bike?
no I bought it in february and got it now. The bike was since february at the bike Store but in Germany you have to wait until your 16 Birthday
@@Maxibsa what's insurance like on a 22plate model? I'm thinking of ordering one
When you get your a2 bike you should……………… do a giveaway for this bike……………and give it to me 👀………..
Just to you.. ;)
@@NathRides I would appreciate it even more.. actually, it depends on how much would he, but Im all the way 😃 btw great vid
Haha, everyone can fight to the death, winner gets the bike ;) and thank you!
@@NathRides bet
You guys should recommend he sell it and buy a good a2 bike instead of asking it xd nice vid nathan !
how tall are you?
I'm 6'2
going to get one soon but i think might be to small for it 😭
Haha, what's your height?
@@NathRides like 5’2/5’3 😂
@@xlllIlx you could be to small. I am 168cm and it is very close. Probably you can make the bike lower.
@@Maxibsa yeah was thinking about lowering suspension and maybe wearing like jordan’s or something just to add that inch or so taller
@@Maxibsa bearing in mind i was wearing flat shoes when i tried sitting on a friends bike.. i was just on my tip toes
what?? is it automatic or not?
🤣
its semi auto ;)
@@NathRides what does that mean? clucth?
