Sweden’s Israel goods ban: Gothenburg plans 'occupying power' law

- The local government in the Swedish city of Gothenburg is hoping to pass a law banning the purchase of Israeli goods.
It plans to put Israel on a list alongside Russia and Morocco, saying that taxpayers shouldn’t fund occupying powers.
Al Jazeera’s Paul Rhys reports from Gothenburg.

Technically, the city of Gothenburg. For a nationwide band, Sweden’s Parliament would have to get involved. And if it’s succeeded, they would have to be sure that this is not a law that could be struck down by zionist supporters in the European Union.

Go to Gaza City and spend some time with Christian Brothers and Sisters in Christ, if you want to understand what it means to be threatened. Why were two unarmed Christian women shot by Israeli snipers while going to the toilet at their church in Gaza? Why were Christians killed while they were taking shelter at their 800-year-old church in Gaza City, when an IDF bomb hit beside their church? How many of their homes have been turned to rubble? How would you feel if armed drones were constantly flying overhead, while you are without food? Why was Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu-Akieh shot by the IDF before October 7th? These people were not killed by Hamas. Why have these people been ignored by most Christians in the U.S.? Are the Christians being killed in Gaza “Semites”?....
Will that occupying law affect America and its genocidal government who already committed crimes against humanity on the lands it occupies?

Great people and it's wonderful that they're taking the boycotts seriously. Meanwhile, it's illegal to boycott Israel in any form in about 35 US states...or to quote Voltaire: If you want to know who rules over you, just look for who you are not allowed to criticize.

Even if they don't procure much, it is an example to set for other places in Sweden
- & gives a message to their national level over how the people feel & what that national level should do
- (including ALSO banning goods at the national level from Israel & taking other actions.)
Gothenburg - could also be used as an example for other municipalities AROUND THE WORLD - of what to do.
Altogether, it would be another bit of a sign to Israel of their unpopularity with other countries & if enough countries do this - & end joint partnerships of various kinds etc. with Israel - all these things could help.
Israelis are NOT going to want to be stuck in their own society

- if countries won't trade with them
- if Israeli students can't go to foreign universities
- if countries won't get involved or won't continue partnerships with them on a scientific level
