    Great stuff as always Tom. When it comes to this topic, I've used something you made mention of years ago. More or less, it was... "Left shoulder to where the ball is, right shoulder to where it was." That swing thought alone has helped me tremendously. Thanks!

    Thanks Tom. It is good to re-emphasize these concepts from time to time, so new watchers can understand the fundamentals of stack and tilt.

    Another great video! Keeping the trail arm close to your body will automatically put your club in the slot. All done at set up! Shoulder rotation not lift with tilt will put your club path back to the ball. Watch his swing. Once you get it you will know.

    I think the confusing part is tilting shoulder down w/ the head staying consistent/still. I feel when i over-emphasize tilt, i get completely out of whack.

      He has a good drill where you put your head against the wall and do your swing slowly. You’ll instantly feel if you’re moving your head in any direction

      Loving this method. I’ve had back issues and this has really helped. Just two rounds since I started S&T ing and my drives are really accurate. Seem to be hitting more heel side though and haven’t quite figured out why this is?
      Thanks for the content Tom.

      @russellmills2044 - I appreciate your kind words and I'm very glad to learn of your body-friendly improvement so far. Nice job!
      Heel strikes can potentially result from a path that is too much in-to-out, but there are other potential causes as well so it's really not possible for me to diagnose without seeing your swing. FYI, I do offer a swing video analysis service which enables me to put my eyes on your swing, identify any issues, and provide a corrective action plan if applicable. Here is a link where you can learn more about this option: saguto.golf/lessons
      Beyond that, there are entire sections of my online school dedicated to diagnosing and resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues. Have you looked into it? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. When I tilt my hands don't get deep enough i have a hard time to sync the tilt with the turn to get the arms deep enough. I feel like I'm just reverse pivoting.

    I dont have a really deep back swing because of bone spurs on my spine but i still hit my driver plenty long my irons dont go very long 7 iron about 150-155

    • @richyclubsport5155
      @richyclubsport5155 4 часа назад

      150 is decent if it's carry, and depends on irons, lofts vary but are considerably stronger than a few years ago
      I own two sets Ben Hogan blades and Ping irons, the lofts on the Ping are around 5 degrees stronger than the Hogans

    You actually have minimal till when hitting the ball.

    I’ve been having a problem hitting everything to my right with my irons. Sometimes I do the same with my driver. So I’m leaning back on my swing is what it sounds like? When using the driver do you bump your hips forward on the down swing?

    • @agroblueberries
      @agroblueberries 5 часов назад

      You could also be coming over the top, that’s what I’m doing. My face is square or closed at impact, my weight is on my lead leg, so the only thing for me is I’m coming over the top. Maybe this is the same with your swing?

    • @jeffstill2212
      @jeffstill2212 4 часа назад +1

      Could be. It’s driving me crazy. Thanks

    • @SagutoGolf
      @SagutoGolf  5 минут назад

      The answer lies in ball flight laws, Jeff. Clubface angle relative to target line is the primary influencer of the ball's starting line and face relative to path determines direction and degree of curvature. From there we can then do some reverse engineering to identify and neutralize the cause of a sideways shot. So for a straight push the club face is open to the target and square to an in-to-out path at impact. This could be something as simple as the ball position being too far back at address, or there may be other factors involved that are causing the face to open such as a conscious or subconscious handsy manipulation, improper wrist action, a downswing path that is too shallow, and more.
      While there is certainly content on my channel that addresses the various causes, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews
      As to your other question, when properly deployed in sequence our hips play a role in preserving our downswing path and they can certainly provide a power boost. When prematurely rotated, all bets are off. For example, the lateral targetward action of the hips acts as a governor on the rotational component, thereby enabling the player to keep their upper torso square and their swing center intact without having to fight their body. It's also a move that you will notice with every great ball striker. (Cue up a face-on video of any Tour player, put your finger, mouse pointer, or some other reference tool on their lead hip at address, and then observe the extent to which the hips move laterally past your pointer in the downswing while - and this is key - the head and thus the swing center remains in place.) This will occur naturally if we allow it to, but unfortunately the misguided "fire the hips" notion has plagued so many amateurs with an early-onset spinout that makes them steep and across the line, or they get stuck, early extend, flip, etc. For them, the "feel" of the shoulders leading will help in overcoming this, correctly engaging their hips and fixing their path, thereby leading them to a solid, "crispy" impact condition.
