I can only imagine the scrapped monster ideas they had planned. All we're left with is a broken game with a player base smaller than 1000-1500 people playing, and a monster that given certain defensive buffs curbstomps both pub and "competitive" teams alike.

Everyone said that the humans/Marines were the worst, Aliens were impossible to control, and Predators were the only ones playable... Meanwhile, I was racing and spiralling with complete control as an Alien, never losing orientation, dodging shots and hit-and-running, taking out entire squads by myself (when they were newbie-to-decent level) or picking off members one by one (when they were competitive)... And as a human, I was shooting Predators out of the trees and tracking down Aliens while mowing them down... So long as I stuck in a group. It played out like the movies: Aliens were deadly at ambush, Predators were at their best when tracking and trapping their prey, and humans were a force to be reckoned with when they worked in groups. Go against those rules and you'd obviously lose.
Predators pretty much butt-fucked aliens. Their melee combos were designed to destroy 'us'. I played alien too. Had a shit ton of a fun ripping up marines. A decent predator got me good most times though.

This game was legendary. It's characters, script and world building are unparalleled in the realm multiplayer and it was a very unique and fun concept. Too bad it was killed by people who didn't realize you didn't have to buy the blue gun in order to have the full experience (COD's microtransaction problem was way worse and no one called it out).

Nah, it is possible. Played this game pretty competitively back in the early days of it. Sank a good amount of hours too. The team can be made of special forces, but with some trickery you can lose them long enough to evolve and become stronger. I thought against very competitive teams, but no matter how skilled you are, it is pretty hard to catch something, if you don't know where to go in the first place. A lot of new players make a mistake of just going into one direction, hoping that their greater speed will give them an edge, only to be dumbfounded and frustrated as hunters get to them before they even have half of the bar filled for evolution. You have to be quick and efficient with food and at the same to make sure, that hunters can't track you. You only leave footsteps on the ground if you walk. So you can easily use that to your advantage. Hell I used the "I turned left, but actually turned right" tactic so many times, that it is getting hilarious that peoples still get caught up in it. Also they can't track your footprints in water. Or when you're climbing on mountains. And I was using Goliath entire time. Other monsters are stronger. Wraith has insane speed and it is difficult to catch it, while Gorgon barely needs to walk, as it can swing like spiderman, so it makes tracking way harder. But I won't deny that this game has a decent amount of luck factor in it as well. Sometimes you just step in the wrong direction and hunters find you while you're at level 1 or sometimes hunters make a dumb mistake and split up, giving you an option to kill them very early.
I mean you can call what you want, like mad said as long as you play to your monsters strengths and use every advantage you can find fully, you're basically guaranteed a win. And the monster at stage 2 or 3 is so OP that unless you're a seriously skilled team or have the Devils luck. you've basically already lost.

The unthinkable had happened, Stage 2 is getting peer to peer servers. The legacy ones were down for a month and we asked for them to be fixed, didn't expect to see stage 2 back also.
So sad my man... looking at your highlight here makes me remember how much I loved this game. Every single aspect of the gameplay was awesome, well balanced indeed. They maybe messed up with stage 2, some mechanics were too op but overall the game always work like intended: you coop, you win. You don't? Monster erase you. This could have been the new Left for Dead but at the beginning they relied too much on DLCs. If only they add just a bit of free contents every month or two there would have been no problems :( I mean... for a game like this I'm happy to spend even some money and that's what I did even in the past with Torvald and Crow.
I agree.. almost all my friends whom i played with have similar opinion.. i guess its a lesson for gaming industry to not be greedy with your pitch eventhogh your product is good.. it took a hit with DLC marketing strat early on and would never recover from bad press even when they went F2P.. this game got me addicted to asymmetrical multiplayers and there arent many that are compelling even to this day..
Skemooo Sadly I didn't have any friend to play with so when it took me 15 mins to play a game, I just gave up. One month later the game became a F2P but orribly failed anyway. Bad servers, bugs, op mechanics just to make games faster (monster regenarating armor passivly was bullcrap at the beginning cause a lvl1 Goliath could destroy an entire team), lame hunters and monsters reskinning... dude I really hope that gaming industries take noticed of these failures! Nowadays we can't even purchase a game on day one cause you can risk to leave that product in your library forever for predatory politics, community cancers or bad choices. I had so much faith in SW Battlefront 2 for example but even this one was a complete waste of money, I'm so annoyed! People that say "uh graphics is good so I play" should rethink a bit... if a product it's bad we need to state that's bad! I want true videogames back :(

At my school there was a leaf hanging down between wooden poles. If you looked at it from the right direction it looked like it had 6 legs. So when me and my friends notice it we always scream: Gorgon!! We are going to die!! And then we died of laughter.
You could get into a game without any extra wait times even two years after release. It had a small yet active player base, a multiplayer game ain't dead if you can still easily play it. You might consider that dead, I certainly don't.

Absolutely loved this game, found the Gorgon a couple hours into gameplay and loved it. Nobody played it and I quickly picked up on it and destroyed my friends and other parties. Miss this game man.
It seemed balanced for me.. I played all characters.. hunters for new players required some time since coordination and altruism is not something a regular fps player is accustomed to.. a moba or mmorpg player would find it easier to pick up skills than a regular fps guy .. this was one of the main reasons for a lot bad rep .. was marketed to wrong crowd
99% of matches I had the monster was trapped right at the start and murdered very quickly as the monster had literally a second to get away and feed so 99% of the time you cant and then you get murdered by the hunters stage 1 whilst they have unlimited lives as long as one survives, can trap you in a dome FORCING you to fight which you cant and they can easily get away and can track you down to exactly where you are in less then 30 seconds. making it 3000% easier for the hunters to win.
I got to say, you play those human hunters pretty dirty, also you play Gorgon pretty awesome gamer, all ways look back when a hunter is trying to get you and you use Gorgon abilities to push them back so you can go to stage 2, people say that Gorgon is a easy monster to kill but seeing this video proved them wrong, I bit you do this “push them back, (that I named up)”tactic on the Kraken because it can used that one abilities that push hunters back, plus a vary nice gameplay.
Imagine seeing these things in the dead of night, strange sounds all around you, and against all studies that have happened to come back of them saying they hunt alone, you hear and spot a PACK of them flying at you.
The First Price it's probably based on a spider but it's a giant ant. It has 4 or 6 legs if you count the ones on it's belly. If it was a spider that would have put 8 legs.

Implying I bought the game. I played the beta enough to know this isn't going to be fun in the long term and fast forward when the game came out for free and I was right. The game only attracted a very selective minority and the rest played the game as a novelty for a short time. Same formula every match. Keep fooling yourself that this game would have a long life span even without the DLC policy. If anything its a delaying the inevitable.

sorry for late reply.. In PC its the climb key.. So i think it should be the corresponding key in console for climbing walls.. You need to aim towards a wall if you see a web symbol pop up sling towards it and hold climb... you can cling to most walls some of trees and you even zipline between walls ( to zipline aim towards another wall if web pops up sling towards it ) while your clung.

The unthinkable had happened, Stage 2 is getting peer to peer servers. The legacy ones were down for a month and we asked for them to be fixed, didn't expect to see stage 2 back also.

So sad my man... looking at your highlight here makes me remember how much I loved this game. Every single aspect of the gameplay was awesome, well balanced indeed. They maybe messed up with stage 2, some mechanics were too op but overall the game always work like intended: you coop, you win. You don't? Monster erase you. This could have been the new Left for Dead but at the beginning they relied too much on DLCs. If only they add just a bit of free contents every month or two there would have been no problems :( I mean... for a game like this I'm happy to spend even some money and that's what I did even in the past with Torvald and Crow.
I agree.. almost all my friends whom i played with have similar opinion.. i guess its a lesson for gaming industry to not be greedy with your pitch eventhogh your product is good.. it took a hit with DLC marketing strat early on and would never recover from bad press even when they went F2P.. this game got me addicted to asymmetrical multiplayers and there arent many that are compelling even to this day..
Skemooo Sadly I didn't have any friend to play with so when it took me 15 mins to play a game, I just gave up. One month later the game became a F2P but orribly failed anyway. Bad servers, bugs, op mechanics just to make games faster (monster regenarating armor passivly was bullcrap at the beginning cause a lvl1 Goliath could destroy an entire team), lame hunters and monsters reskinning... dude I really hope that gaming industries take noticed of these failures! Nowadays we can't even purchase a game on day one cause you can risk to leave that product in your library forever for predatory politics, community cancers or bad choices. I had so much faith in SW Battlefront 2 for example but even this one was a complete waste of money, I'm so annoyed! People that say "uh graphics is good so I play" should rethink a bit... if a product it's bad we need to state that's bad! I want true videogames back :(

I hate how this game turned out, Evolve is the perfect example of a great game that was killed by nothing but Micro Transactions

I never really got the hang of being the monster, but man do I play a mean Caira. I absolutely mained her for most of my games there, and while my skills were mostly... okay, I guess, I've had quite some fun with it.
That said, It's gonna be HELLA SCARY going up against players like you, like, holysht. Your skills are some Alien-type sht right there!
Reminds me when I got 21 win streak with gorgon and lost to a team extremely well coordinated... was a good and tough fight. Wish had more games like Evolve.

Absolutely loved this game, found the Gorgon a couple hours into gameplay and loved it. Nobody played it and I quickly picked up on it and destroyed my friends and other parties. Miss this game man.

I was busy watching Overwatch gameplay until this came up in my recommended. I thought nobody played Evolve anymore.
I say congrats considering the game was heavily rigged against the monster
It seemed balanced for me.. I played all characters.. hunters for new players required some time since coordination and altruism is not something a regular fps player is accustomed to.. a moba or mmorpg player would find it easier to pick up skills than a regular fps guy .. this was one of the main reasons for a lot bad rep .. was marketed to wrong crowd
99% of matches I had the monster was trapped right at the start and murdered very quickly as the monster had literally a second to get away and feed so 99% of the time you cant and then you get murdered by the hunters stage 1 whilst they have unlimited lives as long as one survives, can trap you in a dome FORCING you to fight which you cant and they can easily get away and can track you down to exactly where you are in less then 30 seconds. making it 3000% easier for the hunters to win.
The game was absurdly easy for any half decent monster.

I got to say, you play those human hunters pretty dirty, also you play Gorgon pretty awesome gamer, all ways look back when a hunter is trying to get you and you use Gorgon abilities to push them back so you can go to stage 2, people say that Gorgon is a easy monster to kill but seeing this video proved them wrong, I bit you do this “push them back, (that I named up)”tactic on the Kraken because it can used that one abilities that push hunters back, plus a vary nice gameplay.

The First Price it's probably based on a spider but it's a giant ant. It has 4 or 6 legs if you count the ones on it's belly. If it was a spider that would have put 8 legs.

It's funny that a poor DLC policy killed this game but so many games with even worse ones do so well. Guess this game was ahead of its time. If this was released now people would love it and accept the DLC bullshit. Funny how that came about.
Would have died regardless of no DLC bullshit. Scenarios are either dead or bleeding out to death. Ain't fun chasing the only dude having the time of his life because he's the monster rinse and repeat.

And honestly, what really killed the game was the crappy balance combined with the shitty dlc policy. All the community wanted was updates. All they got was more unbalanced dlc. Game was fun, but sorely needed a polish that it never received.
Implying I bought the game. I played the beta enough to know this isn't going to be fun in the long term and fast forward when the game came out for free and I was right. The game only attracted a very selective minority and the rest played the game as a novelty for a short time.
Same formula every match. Keep fooling yourself that this game would have a long life span even without the DLC policy. If anything its a delaying the inevitable.

sorry for late reply.. In PC its the climb key.. So i think it should be the corresponding key in console for climbing walls.. You need to aim towards a wall if you see a web symbol pop up sling towards it and hold climb... you can cling to most walls some of trees and you even zipline between walls ( to zipline aim towards another wall if web pops up sling towards it ) while your clung.
