Worthless! All DIY simple solar pool heater designs are. If you have it running continuously using a pump then what you've created is a radiator that cools the pool, not heats it. In order to heat a pool with solar you would either need to reduce the flow low enough so that there is a constant trickle of warm/hot water or set the pump on a timer or better a thermostat that would turn on/off intermittently only allowing properly heated water to flow. I have a DIY solar pex tubing pool heater w/ 3/4 inch tubing at 100 ft long with a flow thats about 1/3rd the pressure of the average garden hose. I also use a solar pool cover on a 10x10 intex pool. The solar pool cover heats the pool by about 15 degrees while only being in partial sun for 1/3rd the day. The DIY solar pex pipe heater keeps the pool cool even when the solar cover is in use. I keep seeing all of these videos that make it look simple but its much more complex to design a solar pool heater that works.

Great idea! We have the same exact pool and used big black contractors bags all over top and got temps up several degrees and able to swim in a day. Looked crazy but worked
You should lay the black hose over your roof if that the only place u get sunshine. If you run it constsntly you arent warmin anything.,its gotta sit in the sun and warm up thst hose water son. Let jt sit for 30 minutes and then run it through to the pool circulate and then shut her off let her sit in that hot sun and warm up the hose pool water again for a spell then turn your pump back on and let that warmed hose pool water go back in...do that and take a temp reading...i bet ya you will ge doin some night time swimming soon.
I want to do this same thing, but wrap a heated mattress pad around the coiled hose. No sun required that way
That’s not a bad idea! I have been brainstorming all kinds of ideas to cheaply heat the pool when needed.

sorry but that would do absolutely nothing for a pool that size, waste of $50
