I look around and really?? Where are all these real people dropping hundreds on beauty hauls weekly/ monthly..... Really? In today's world?? I would rather make the dollar tree/ dollar general and Walmart work for me when I can and tithe at my church, help someone out, not have credit debt, give to a ministry or charity and still look cute doing it , makeup is makeup is makeup. I have 4 kids and you are dang right the kids come first. The Internet is delusional like a Biblical war isn't taking place before our very eyes... Makeup, beauty, skin, all the girly things are my hobbies, art, collection, expression etc. always have been, always will be but never ever the priority. Food, gas, bills, cost of living is crazy, beauty is last on the list. I do tons of beauty research to shop the smartest and as calculated as possible. Way cheaper than drugstore but so many products have replaced my drugstore products because they're just better. Especially the mascaras, wish I found them before trying so many drugstore products that aren't nearly as good (but cost 5 times as much 😢) And they give to charities! 💜 They don't advertise/promote and sell their products directly which is how costs are kept low.
If you have a Marshall's close by its great for low price high end make up. I seldom buy anywhere else. Was a single mom now with grown daughter I am helping through college. I agree so much with your comments. Walmart target and dollar tree my other spots.

Another RUclipsr recommended the L’Oréal Les nus style lipstick in nu impertinent as a CT dupe. I ordered it on Amazon and it will be here tomorrow but on screen it look identical to the Pillow Talk she swatched it next too. It was a bit shinier but that’s all.
I've replaced Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes with Colourpop eye shadow palettes. The price difference of Urban Decay ($59) to Colourpop ($14) is significant and I can have 4 palettes of Colourpop eyeshadow for the price of one Urban Decay palette.The quality of Colourpop is phenomenal too. I also wear L'oreal and Maybelline lipsticks in place of my MAC lipsticks. I don't need to repurchase my MAC lippies yet, but I may not.
I love these videos. I’ve mostly used drugstore makeup. Occasionally I’ve bought high end and honestly not blown away by it. I really can’t justify the cost. And most all makeup is owned by just a couple companies and probably made in the same factories.
I primarily use drugstore too and feel like every time I've bought a high-end product for full price, I've regretted it, or it didn't live up to my expectations. Those I've gotten on an amazing sale, though, completely different story. Lol
Oh, and one other thing money saver… I MIX Tient Idole with Cover Girl Clean Milk to thin it, give it some luminosity and to adjust the color seasonally. I also mix my Tient Idole concealer with Kokie concealer for the same reasons 😊 I can stretch those products for a significantly longer time. One last thing… liquid blush. A teeny tiny bit goes a very long way and has so much more staying power than powder blush. 😊

Im all about drugstore makeup. But, I’m beginning to realize, prices are beginning to rise on them as well. I don’t remember drugstore mascara costing $12. I like $8 so inflation is hitting our drugstore cosmetics but ill take that price over $25 or $30 any day. 😂
I recently purchased a Chanel lipstick because not only it was always sold out but also because everyone on the internet was raving about it and the shade looked so amazing on everyone! Well I sacrificed and got it and let me tell you it did nothing for my complexion it looked horrible on my super fair skin the shade I’m talking about is “boy” horrible shade and the quality was crappy the lipstick lasted me maybe an hour if that I had to keep reapplying I will never purchase expensive Chanel lipsticks there’s no need i love the perfumes I will purchase those but not the lipsticks , I love my cover girl pinks lipsticks much better.

Thank you for this11 I have an OLD Wet N Wild eyeshadow pallet with nudes and browns that looks comparable to the one that you showed. I use it more than my expensive shadows! I love LOVE love the All Star Face Pallet from Physician's Formula. The costly (for me, anyway) lipstick that I am obsessed with and I'd love to find a dupe for is the KVD Queen Of Poisons hyperlight lipstick. It feels like silk on my lips and is such a beautiful color!

I understand your moving away from certain shades and products you used to love. As I've gone up in age 🙂my needs and preferences have changed. I've switched from matte foundations and blushes to softly-luminous ones, from dark and transfer-proof lips to medium shades in satin formulas, and from bold, black, graphic liquid eyeliner to softer, smudgy gel pencils in plum, navy, and coffee.
I would love to find a drugstore dupe for Lancome Powder Foundation. I don't use it as foundation but as a powder but it's 50.00 now. It doesn't dry out my skin but I don't know of a dupe for it.
High end makeup mainly sell their products that high because they pay a lot for ads, commercial, box/packaging, prints on the bottle, the bottle itself to say the least. High end and drugstore have their products made at the same factory,
They sell for however much people will pay because there will always be people who think more expensive equals better and will convince themselves that a crappy expensive product is better than the best quality drugstore item. It's sad, really.
My husband and son went to Sephora to buy me a Christmas gift and came home saying”y’all are getting scammed!” They couldn’t believe the cost and what people spend for makeup. I have tried and liked several ELF products but I worry about the products being made in China. Reports about some makeup not being up to US standards is a little unsettling. I do enjoy your videos.
There is a way to fix broken powder, blush, bronzer, eyeshadow etc. You crush it up in the pan, add rubbing alcohol a little at a time to and mix with a popsicle stick to form a paste. Then cover with Saran Wrap and press/ smooth out and let dry- I think it took a day or two. It’ll be almost as good as new. Maybe not as pretty to look at but it works perfectly. I did this when I dropped a new elf blush and it’s really works!

Zabrena, you are a TREASURE!! Three years ago, I decided to stop buying high end products, including skincare (I had to stop working due to health issues). I watched so many videos like this one, and I was able to build my new, affordable makeup and skincare collection. I do use Tretinoin, but with Good RX I was able to get a 45 gram tube for $32!! It's funny that the Elf Bite Sized palettes you mentioned are my top two as well. I bought a single matte white shadow from the Ulta brand on sale, and it is very good! Elf has been doing an amazing job to offer "dupes" at such great prices, too. Thank you so much for continuing to review affordable products. I have five gorgeous grandchildren that I'd rather spend my money on these days!!

I had an urban decay eye palette that I just loved. loved. but it got real old - I had had it 13 years and needed a replacement. It took me awhile to find a replacement and I landed on a too faced palette but I hated it. It cost too much and the colors were not pigmented enough for me so now I love the Elf eye palettes as well as colour pop and NYX. I love the colors and with my Milani primer the colors stay all day! no need to buy high end eyeshadows anymore! Thanks!

I love the Revlon Illuminance foundation, I replaced my Clinique with it. I still have a couple of my Lancôme lipsticks that, when they’re gone won’t be re-bought. This is a great video, you did a great job!
Tip on broken eye shadow. Crush broken pieces in the pan, add rubbing alcohol...just enough to saturate. Allow to dry overnight. Your shadow will be restored. At least it worked for me.
Drugstore makeup came along way but they are raising prices as well. But I’m preferring drugstore and indie brands nowadays. I’m finding high end makeup almost doubling their prices and the quality is going down. Drugstore makeup upped their game.
I’ve never purchased a high end make up with one exception. Clinique Black Honey. I don’t use it anymore I prefer sheer glosses now. I’ve been using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder ever since you’ve mentioned it a while back. It does the job for oily skin. If I have a dry patch I use the CoverGirl Smoothers pressed powder. My only mascara is Maybelline Waterproof lash sensational. Loreal true match blush, CoverGirl thin brow pencil, and love the walking on eggshells wet and wild eyeshadow you recommended. No foundation for me just Dermatology tinted sunscreen or Bliss tinted sunscreen. I refuse to buy high end make up and I’ve honestly done pretty good without it. Better for my family budget and conscience 🥰 this was super helpful thank you!!! 🤗
I wanted to add that I disagree with your take on lip color for yourself. I think you look better in the lighter shades. You are such a beautiful young woman inside and out (can really see God's love through you) but the darker shades of lip color are a bit aging, which is fine for now while you are so young, yet you look prettier and younger in the lighter lippy shades. I usually purchase high end foundation from Mary Kay because the matte formula feels good on my skin, but I bought 2 types of Maybelline foundation that I think is comparable.
I got a $100 Ulta gift for Christmas I just can't bring myself to spend over $ 30 on the powder or blush,I'm waiting on a good deal or I'm going to spend it on other products in Ulta
Great options! Going by the Revlon foundation’s name I would think it’s kind of glowy and the Teint Idole is matte. I would have never thought those two foundations look similar on the skin.
NYX has a under eye color corrector too. I think they have different shades too. I really like it and it's smooth and goes well under another concealer.
BEST matte white I’ve ever found is in Colourpop Smoke Show! It’s so pigmented and works so well! It’s the best one I’ve found out of all the palettes I’ve had! So that’s an option for people looking for an amazing, pigmented white matte and you get some gorgeous gray and black. It’s one of my most loved palettes as a very cool toned person!

I have not found a high end foundation to match to my L’Oréal infallible pro glow- I’ve tried so many high end ones and while they weren’t all bad. None compared to the price and wearability of the pro glow. Every time i wear it people ask me what foundation it is( they also have a matte one) ❤️

The Nyx brow pen dries up so fast! Gonna stick with my UD Brow Blade. They last and last. A better value for that reason alone, IMHO. 😊

I have tried and liked several ELF products but I worry about the products being made in China. Reports about some makeup not being up to US standards is a little unsettling. I do enjoy your videos.
I will never buy an eyeshadow palette ever again... I certainly got too many!
There is a way to fix broken powder, blush, bronzer, eyeshadow etc. You crush it up in the pan, add rubbing alcohol a little at a time to and mix with a popsicle stick to form a paste. Then cover with Saran Wrap and press/ smooth out and let dry- I think it took a day or two. It’ll be almost as good as new. Maybe not as pretty to look at but it works perfectly. I did this when I dropped a new elf blush and it’s really works!

Zabrena, you are a TREASURE!! Three years ago, I decided to stop buying high end products, including skincare (I had to stop working due to health issues). I watched so many videos like this one, and I was able to build my new, affordable makeup and skincare collection. I do use Tretinoin, but with Good RX I was able to get a 45 gram tube for $32!!
It's funny that the Elf Bite Sized palettes you mentioned are my top two as well. I bought a single matte white shadow from the Ulta brand on sale, and it is very good! Elf has been doing an amazing job to offer "dupes" at such great prices, too. Thank you so much for continuing to review affordable products. I have five gorgeous grandchildren that I'd rather spend my money on these days!!

Isn't it crazy how most of the high end $$$ products (MAC, Lancome, Yves Saint Laurent, and Bobbi Brown) test on animals too?!! Elf, Nyx, Milani, Pixi and Colorpop are cruelty-free!
I had an urban decay eye palette that I just loved. loved. but it got real old - I had had it 13 years and needed a replacement. It took me awhile to find a replacement and I landed on a too faced palette but I hated it. It cost too much and the colors were not pigmented enough for me so now I love the Elf eye palettes as well as colour pop and NYX. I love the colors and with my Milani primer the colors stay all day! no need to buy high end eyeshadows anymore! Thanks!

I love the Revlon Illuminance foundation, I replaced my Clinique with it. I still have a couple of my Lancôme lipsticks that, when they’re gone won’t be re-bought. This is a great video, you did a great job!
Tip on broken eye shadow. Crush broken pieces in the pan, add rubbing alcohol...just enough to saturate. Allow to dry overnight. Your shadow will be restored. At least it worked for me.
Drugstore makeup came along way but they are raising prices as well. But I’m preferring drugstore and indie brands nowadays. I’m finding high end makeup almost doubling their prices and the quality is going down. Drugstore makeup upped their game.

I’ve never purchased a high end make up with one exception. Clinique Black Honey. I don’t use it anymore I prefer sheer glosses now. I’ve been using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder ever since you’ve mentioned it a while back. It does the job for oily skin. If I have a dry patch I use the CoverGirl Smoothers pressed powder. My only mascara is Maybelline Waterproof lash sensational. Loreal true match blush, CoverGirl thin brow pencil, and love the walking on eggshells wet and wild eyeshadow you recommended. No foundation for me just Dermatology tinted sunscreen or Bliss tinted sunscreen. I refuse to buy high end make up and I’ve honestly done pretty good without it. Better for my family budget and conscience 🥰 this was super helpful thank you!!! 🤗
I wanted to add that I disagree with your take on lip color for yourself. I think you look better in the lighter shades. You are such a beautiful young woman inside and out (can really see God's love through you) but the darker shades of lip color are a bit aging, which is fine for now while you are so young, yet you look prettier and younger in the lighter lippy shades. May God bless and protect you and your family.
I usually purchase high end foundation from Mary Kay because the matte formula feels good on my skin, but I bought 2 types of Maybelline foundation that I think is comparable.

Going by the Revlon foundation’s name I would think it’s kind of glowy and the Teint Idole is matte. I would have never thought those two foundations look similar on the skin.

NYX has a under eye color corrector too. I think they have different shades too. I really like it and it's smooth and goes well under another concealer.
I'm sorry but there is no comparison between the quality of viseart and that of elf, I'm glad you can make it work but it wouldn't for me.
BEST matte white I’ve ever found is in Colourpop Smoke Show! It’s so pigmented and works so well! It’s the best one I’ve found out of all the palettes I’ve had! So that’s an option for people looking for an amazing, pigmented white matte and you get some gorgeous gray and black. It’s one of my most loved palettes as a very cool toned person!

I have not found a high end foundation to match to my L’Oréal infallible pro glow- I’ve tried so many high end ones and while they weren’t all bad. None compared to the price and wearability of the pro glow. Every time i wear it people ask me what foundation it is( they also have a matte one) ❤️

My concern is the ingredients in the cheaper pallets? Doesn’t the high end have better ingredients? It’s so hard to buy cheap products when I’m used to high end but I enjoyed this video 💪👍💕
