but nothing original from Lopez. she just did a cover .she didn´t arranged nothing,, the song already arranged before Lopez. so what the heck are you talking about??
@@angc1456 Yeah, this is the same thing with Jennifer's vocal on it. The party line has always been that Ric Wake re-arranged it and he clearly didn't lift a finger in that regard. He took out a synth. Beyond that, same thing.
I always wondered why JLo's version reminded me of Real McCoy's "Another Night" and Amber's "This Is Your Night". Now when I checked it due to Wikipedia I agree that the original version sounds a lot kinda German Eurodance of mid-90s.
All I can say is that Tommy Motolla really went full on to get J. Lo to the top at all cost, so Mariah's career would really take its toll after leaving Sony for good. I appreciate both versions, this original is cut-out for European taste.
Ha I never thought of that. Yeah her voice would really killed on this and it would've been a hit. She had great jams. But I always thought this group did fine on this song it was just buried under other dance music because they didn't have a name.
It's too bad that this version isn't as well known. I like that it's less polished and saturated, and more soulful. The J-Lo version is good, because that's the one I remember as a kid. However after discovering this version, I'd have to say 3rd Party's version is superior.
J.Lo's version added latin percussions, less cheap voice effects. It was predicative of theearly 00s sound and is way more iconic and has aged way better than this mess.
Not gonna lie, I only discovered this song recently, and I must say that I like this version way more than Jennifer Lopez's song. This song has more life to it, has more beat in it, it's a shame I can't seem to find it on Spotify. J-Lo completely destroyed their chance of fame with her copy.
And never gave them the credit or acknowledgement which is pathetic. She fooled people into thinking she did this originally. Not once does she ever say "I covered it!" but as if she heard a demo and decided to do it herself. You are so right, this version has way more life and beat and frankly better singers. Jennifer sounded like she was TRYING to sing (which she was actually doing at the start of her career before she actually got good) and sounded bland. Her production team even used the vocals of 3rd Party in Jennifer's version during the chorus bits. You can actually make out THEIR voices in the background. So Jennifer couldn't sing her own damn background? Wow. How is her version so popular? Same with Xscape's cover of The Jones Sisters, "Who Can I Run To" which is also trash and bland and absent of the soul and natural harmonic uplifting the original song had, yet that cover is soooo popular and recognized amongst the masses. HOOOOW??? I also posted this version on my channel with some pics of the lovely Maria Christensen (blonde singer here), and a video trashing Jennifer's live performances that I posted earlier this week. HA!
No she didn’t take credit. They didn’t write it. Their version went no place. Jennifer’s went very far and is a signature song of hers. This… sounds like a demo lol.
From what I read, they broke up before this song was offered to JLo though. Plus the original songwriters - one of them being the lead singer here, were properly credited on JLo's album. That same singer also did backup vocals on JLo's version. Apparently she was able to release her own solo album later thanks to the money and clout she got from all this. I'm not exactly a JLo fan (I'm pretty neutral about her) but she didn't steal anything from these girls.
Always loved this group, and i could never figure out why they never got credit for singing this song originally. I still have their CD after all these years, and some of the tracks hold up really well

This blew my mind. I first heard Jennifer Lopez's version, but then I saw this album and noticed this song, but I thought this was a cover, and Jennifer Lopez's version was the original. Then I noticed this was released in 1997, before Jennifer Lopez's version, and was like "WTF?!".
I am just learning about Jennifer “stealing” songs, partly due to Tommy Motolla. But I feel as if Jenny didn’t just cover this, that she actually used a lot of their vocals in it, especially in the chorus and the bridge. I know she’s done this with lots of music. If you don’t understand me, look up “Natasha Ramos Jenny From The Block Demo” and you’ll hear how little that Jennifer actually sang on that track.
I get really tired of people not knowing how songwriting works. Yes they released this song but also disbanded in 97. As a singer it would be amazing if a song that did nothing for me got pitched to a huge artist. The original artists of this song are super happy it got a refresh, became a hit and thus songwriting royalties for forever.

Escuchando este tema y descubriendo en 2024 que Jlo copio el tema arriba de este tema , por dios cuántos temas estoy descubriendo y que jamás escuche❤. Excelente tema❤
I knew when jLo came out with her version, I said I heard this song before but couldn't recall who did it until today. Kelly Clarkson did a cool rendition of it on her show .
Jammed to this before J-Lo’s version. Love them both
J Lo's version was masterfully produced and arranged, and released with a biblical timing and an era-appropriate video
but nothing original from Lopez. she just did a cover .she didn´t arranged nothing,, the song already arranged before Lopez. so what the heck are you talking about??
@@angc1456 Yeah, this is the same thing with Jennifer's vocal on it. The party line has always been that Ric Wake re-arranged it and he clearly didn't lift a finger in that regard. He took out a synth. Beyond that, same thing.
@@Nostaljack Agreed !!! :)
@@angc1456plus the girls are still in the background of her version
@@num1Jaystayes that´s true !
I was today years old when I found out this is the original one. Thanks to Roomie Official.
love this, has more of that full-on mid 90's feel
Why isn't this version on any platform?? 🥺
J-Lo, Natalie Imbruglia, and Kylie Minogue... I thought they were the original up until now. I was played for like 20 years.
Jennifer Lopez kept the memory of this song Alive! Ba dum dum.
I heard JLo's cover version on the radio on the way to work yesterday. I like this, the original, much better 🎶🎵😀
Did Jlo use their voices too?
Best burn of 2021
Yes Their vocals can be heard in her version. -_-
I always wondered why JLo's version reminded me of Real McCoy's "Another Night" and Amber's "This Is Your Night". Now when I checked it due to Wikipedia I agree that the original version sounds a lot kinda German Eurodance of mid-90s.
It's those organs
Wow! Ambas versiones están muy buenas. Siempre pensé que JLO eran la original.
Unpopular opinion (clearly) JLo’s version is a classic and masterfully produced. And the video is iconic.
Unpopular opinion she can’t sing and we’re stuck with her instead of selena
Nice try moulinyan
This is actually better than the copy.
@Ayan P It's not a copy, it's shit.
Duh :P
@@alexandertotev7787 lol
@Ayan P it isn't bulls shit its somebody's else poop.
J lo version is better than the original but she did rip them off....i like all the sounds in jlo version....my question is how did they not sue
All I can say is that Tommy Motolla really went full on to get J. Lo to the top at all cost, so Mariah's career would really take its toll after leaving Sony for good. I appreciate both versions, this original is cut-out for European taste.
its LITERALLY the same song lol
I mean Mariah's career was over when people realized she cant sing
@@jakerodriguez4985 mariah can't sing?? are you an idiot? have you ever heard her sing live? she's one of the most beautiful voices in the world
Mariah has a several songs that are covers.. dumb ass!
This is the version I remember from 1997. I never even heard JLos until the Superbowl. I like this one better
This song would have been perfect for Amber
john doey how? It’s a good song. Amber didn’t do good songs.
Absolutely.. Amber voice it's amazing
Ha I never thought of that. Yeah her voice would really killed on this and it would've been a hit. She had great jams. But I always thought this group did fine on this song it was just buried under other dance music because they didn't have a name.
OMFG YES!!!! ::DEAD::
The only version I listen to
It's too bad that this version isn't as well known. I like that it's less polished and saturated, and more soulful. The J-Lo version is good, because that's the one I remember as a kid. However after discovering this version, I'd have to say 3rd Party's version is superior.
IKR?????? shut me up!!!!!!!!!
"MC" Walter agreed
superior?? LOL J.Lo's versión is iconic, a classic!!
J.Lo's version added latin percussions, less cheap voice effects. It was predicative of theearly 00s sound and is way more iconic and has aged way better than this mess.
LMAO at this Kids Bop sounding version being "superior" to Jennifer Lopez's version.
Without ORIGINAL there's no COVER. The rest is only a MATER of GESCHMACKSSACHE.
I love this version better brings back them good ole days !
Jlo version better imo
From what I read, they broke up before this song was offered to JLo though. Plus the original songwriters - one of them being the lead singer here, were properly credited on JLo's album. That same singer also did backup vocals on JLo's version. Apparently she was able to release her own solo album later thanks to the money and clout she got from all this. I'm not exactly a JLo fan (I'm pretty neutral about her) but she didn't steal anything from these girls.
@@devontehuntley6274 J Lo is a known song stealer. Even If You Had My Love was stolen from someone else. Remember what she did Mariah Carey.
Always loved this group, and i could never figure out why they never got credit for singing this song originally. I still have their CD after all these years, and some of the tracks hold up really well
all diz time, i thought J-Lo was tha original! thank goodness i found out now dat even J-Lo's version is a cover!
also a fail on RUclips's end of content ID'n diz song as J-Lo's song. blame VEVO 4 it -_-
I just love ❤️ song 🎵 🎧 all versions
i really like this original version. i wished does women got more recognition for this song.
only found out about this in the "jlo ghost singer" video.
I just found out this is the original.
Both have their vibe. But i enjoy JLo cover more. But I’ll definitely be playing this to switch up.
Por eso la versión de Jennifer López siempre se sintió tan Eurodance... ¡originalmente es una canción 100% eurodance!
The europop version of Jennifer Lopez’s Una Noche Más.
Sometimes great songs just get sung by lots of people. This is terrific. So was Jennifer Lopez' version.
I like this better than the original!
Oh wait..
How disappointing to hear one of J.Lo's hits was…Well, not her own
Collin Samatas one of? Lol no dear boy all of her hits are not her own.
I get really tired of people not knowing how songwriting works. Yes they released this song but also disbanded in 97. As a singer it would be amazing if a song that did nothing for me got pitched to a huge artist. The original artists of this song are super happy it got a refresh, became a hit and thus songwriting royalties for forever.
all "her" greatest hits were in fact not hers - if you had my love, i'm real, ain't it funny, get right, jenny from the block are all covers
Even the voice not her.
how did u think ashanti feel ?
I think 3RD voices were kept as backing vocals on JLo's
Third pary >>> j lo
yes maria was from the miami freestyle dance group Sequal
This one was more euro dance! nice!
The ORIGINAL Waiting For Tonight
Most Beautiful EuroDance .... !!!!

Why isn't this on Spotify :(
Glad to know it wasn't just me who desperately searched for it on Spotify. I thought it was region-locked, but this is worse. =(
It's a sin that this song isn't there.
I like these vocals waaaaaaay better. However I like the production of the remake. If they remastered this it would probably have that crisp sound Im used to.
Jlos version is shit. Period.
Jennifer Lopez has some nerve proclaiming she HATED this song and then keeping half the OG song in her version. 😂
